I really haven't bothered to look into it that closely.

If you're not even going to look to see if it's accurate, probably best not to post a random X post in the first place then 🤷🏼

Wrong thread, don't care.

Puncheon being in charge of football operations means that the toilets are up to scratch?

He wouldn't use them would he?

That sounds like one nutjob of a club

As someone noted recently..."Once you have a machine think and write for you, you're cooked as a species".

AI bots do not think, they review all the available information about a topic and summarises it in the form requested. It does only what any one of us could do if we had access to the same information but a billion times faster.

There is a whole world of AI which have agentic capabilities and AGI features beyond bots which use LLM to answer questions.  The march to ASI is onward and SkyNet is around the corner, if we have enough energy. Doomed we are!

Anyway, any transfer news?

Liam Delap under Eckhert guidance would be a dream signing for Saints or indeed any Championship side. He has all the attributes for a CF role and is easily as good as Larin if not better. Best we could expect is a loan to buy, but I don’t think he wants to be playing anywhere other than the Prem…certainly not with Saints.

Considering that several EPL clubs are supposed to be interested in him (Everton, Newcastle, Fulham) along with some Serie A clubs I’m not sure why we are discussing the likelihood of him coming here on loan anyway.

The idea that Eckert can turn every cow’s ear into a silk purse needs to be put to bed too. Fellows had a disappointing season. Robinson went backwards after a promising start and if DD stays I doubt very much if Ekhert will turn him around.

Because Adam Blackmore mentioned it and this is a saints forum to discuss various scenarios about the club.

And yet Fellows had a part to play in our 21 game unbeaten run. How were the same players performing prior to Eckhert influence?

Did Robinson even play under Tonda?

Rumour that Derby have offered 2Million for BBD

Think that we'd want £3.5m minimum. Otherwise it could be an accountancy loss. Although we would have recouped two loan fees as well.

How much did he cost and what was his co tractor length?

Don't forget to add goal bonuses paid out to him while banging them in for us.

So did Archer. I think Fellows was disappointing last season. If you think he wasn’t, fair enough but his finishing was dreadful and he has shown that he can score previously.*

Eckhert has shown that he can coach but he is not the Messiah. Buying players in the hope that your coaching team can turn them into something else is not a wise strategy (unless you have bottomless resources) as we have seen to our cost before. We had a good squad that was underperforming. Eckhert got us playing as a team, which Still failed miserably at, but not every player improved under him and his coaching team, which is my point. To point out the obvious, you can’t just assume that because he has got the best out of some, it will work for all.

If that is the case and he can turn any player around, let’s save some money and bring back Downs and BBD.

*9 goals for WBA

That's a bit more than I was prepared to pay to be honest.

Wiki says £7m on a 4-year deal. So, £3.5m left on amortisation. Plus, we have to consider his wages. If he doesn’t hand in a transfer request (highly unlikely) we’ll also have to pay up his contract.

Deadwood can be expensive to get rid of…

This feels low but if Tonda doesn’t see a role for him there is probably a deal to be done to get him off the books.

Paul Joyce has confirmed in the Telegraph that Middlesbrough and Everton have reached an agreement for Hayden Hackney

  • £16.5m guaranteed initial fee
  • £5m based on Everton appearances
  • £3m possible in event of England caps + UCL qualification with Everton

so a max of £21.5m.

Player has moved to that area, if he’s willing to compromise a bit on bonuses/wages then it may be Saints can on the fee

I understand your thoughts, however I’m not sure you’re comparing eggs with eggs. His role changed at Saints under Eckhert compared to his time with WBA, meaning he naturally had fewer opportunities to score. I don’t think you can judge the lad based just on his goal scoring ability. He was fulfilling almost a pseudo RB role using his dribbling skills to break through an opposition high press to move the ball forward and he did that very well. There are not too many others able to do that as well as him - not even Scienza did as well. I doubt very much that his instructions from Eckhert were “go out there and score me as many goals as you can”.

It’s not the case that you have to pay up his contract. We would only need to pay any loyalty bonuses due and make up any salary deficit (if Derby offer a lower contract).

Derby have done their homework. Fee of £2m means a £1.5m loss on amortisation but his salary is estimated at £1.8m. They have proved it so that we would make a very slight accounting profit over next season which makes it attraction to us. Of course we would save more in the last year of his contract.

Tom Fellows is overrated.

Very simple. Excellent at stopovers and running towards th byline. Largely poor at crossing and even worse at shooting.

His assist record for West Brom would suggest otherwise.

They no longer pay his wages so he needs to start doing it for us. Maybe sell him and bring in the New Zealand guy Elijah Just.

Disagree. I think he has excellent close ball control and is a good crosser of the ball. With a decent and proper CF for a full season I reckon he’ll provide a good supply (but not if playing midgets like AA or Archer).

Can’t put up too much of a defence on his shooting which has been wayward at times. Get one and his confidence will come back. As someone else has pointed out he did score a few at WBA.

All a matter of opinion of course.
