Pwoite Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I thought Dragan had said we didn’t need to sell to balance the books. Of course, this might be talking up the situation, hiding the truth, or it could be fact. Where did the £60m to balance the books come from? Somewhere between those two extremes we have banked around £9m for Armstrong, and reduced the payroll by £6m for releasing Aribo, Smallbone and McCarthy, plus others. Add in Ramsdale and Sugawara, maybe another £20m. Anything else to add in? That takes us to £35m against the cost and contracts for Latin and Peretz. Add in Charles, and exceed the £60m, so have either hit the break even, or have a sizeable war chest. 1 1

Like you say it's the highest we could realistically get. We have an option to extend for another year, not clear whether that has been exercised. https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/25691250.southampton-fc-option-extend-shea-charles-contract/ Edited 2 hours ago by VectisSaint Added link 1

Scoobysaint Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) No idea if this is a legit source or not. Edited 1 hour ago by Scoobysaint Apologies, just spotted this was from yesterday.

Saint Mikey Posted 49 minutes ago Posted 49 minutes ago 56 minutes ago, OldNick said: Sorry no lol, I think its Jordan James Jordan James is an interesting shout. Had a very good season last year in a terrible Leicester team. 34 apps, 11 goals. According to Wiki they had agreed a €5 million option to buy, but the player isn't going to play in League One. So you'd think he would be available for sub-£10m given that he had a good season. I'm sure we've looked at him, as it's a pretty obvious one. But maybe Dan Neil is the type of midfielder we want and the finances work better. Maybe we'd move if we lost another midfielder like Jander. Or, maybe he's destined for West Ham like any decent Championship player, it seems! 2
