Not sure Spors has earned our trust. His fishing pond seems to be mainly limited to Germany. And after Sekou Mara, he then picks Downs, who is truly useless, and I'm not yet convinced Dobbin is much better than Archer. And even Jander might be less than a one season wonder.

Why does it matter if most of his shopping is done in Germany. If it unearths people like Scienza, Jander and Peretz then brilliant. That also ignores people like Larin and Azaz who weren't from there.

Dear Tonda, just to be clear, signing a left footed CB and getting rid of our 2 back up right backs is not an excuse to go 3 at the back with Capt Jack as a sweeper and Fellows as a wing back. We’ve seen it before and it sucks. Massively. Is this clear??

If anything it’s a massive advantage to have knowledge of a resource that is a high footballing level but significantly lower in price than paying English tax. A strange criticism.

The transfer fee is a bit low for a vice-captain so late in the window—especially since we’ll definitely need to find a replacement. Jeff won’t play 34 matches, and it’s uncertain whether Brackelmann will make an immediate impact.

You have to squeeze English clubs for every penny. Still, all the best to him personally.

I honestly don't understand our transfer policy at times. It has happened repeatedly now that key players go through the entire pre-season, only to be sold right before the season starts.

Do we really have to overhaul nearly half the squad every season? It would be great to have a stable, well-gelled core for two or three years. If the guys have to find their rhythm and chemistry from scratch every single year, it becomes difficult to finish in the top third of the table or qualify for Europe.

I wish Schlotterbeck all the best. He always gave his all; replacing the vice-captain on such short notice won't be easy.

Always a good sign when fans of the selling clubs or other teams in the league don’t have a bad word to say.

I like this signing and his interview was very confident and supports the mentality monster comment. His heart is bigger than anyone else’s and wants to win 100% of his duels, great mindset.

Can't see any reason not to be happy with this, I doubt most Championship clubs would be able to pull off a signing of his pedigree, so fair play to Spors for that. Hopefully this means we'll see a bit less of Stephens and a lot less of Wood this season, perhaps starting with our game on Saturday.

Yep. Seems a really solid signing - experienced, pace, size, goals, a leader - What's not to like.
