Feels like an age since we last played a team in the bottom half. Have to be ruthless in this one from the off. Cannot afford to be dropping points against teams in the bottom three. Expect a tough physical battle against a team full of cloggers. One last effort before the international break.

Feels like that for a reason!

The average is useful but the median is probably a better guide.

What is the median of our opponents positions, then?

There is fuck all remotely interesting about Preston.

Home of the EFL if people want to pelt it with shit? Also some absolutely cracking pubs too, and the worlds most depressing italian restaurant which was basically on an a road.

I know a few Preston fans and they have said that Preston are fucking abysmal this season, shit on the pitch, a mess off the pitch, and they've accepted relegation already, for all those doing the "this is still a hard game" schtick it shouldn't be, we should absolutely win this and probably hammer them.

Get one early and they'll completely collapse, wouldn't be surprised in that scenario if we walked away with four or five.

I feel a bit sorry for them , although didnt they beat us at St Mary's this time last year where we all indulged in a bit of abuse directed at our own players, manager and board

First ever KFC in Europe opened in Preston.

It has a hell of a good  bus station.

Edit: Preston, not the KFC

How many tickets have we sold now?

The away end holds up to 6,000 and we've sold around half of it.

There was a little section of seats (around 30) that went back on sale in the previously sold out section that must have been unused staff/sponsor comps but we're now selling seats into the other half of the stand. Probably won't sell too many more now.

Cant be sure, reckon we've sold roughly 2600, I dont think the end block was ever on sale so we've sold 2.5 blocks , we took 5500 last year so wont be a new ground for many , still a good turn out

Hopefully fair few decide late like they did for West Brom, we sold 200 in last two days of sales.

That last block is going to look odd as so few are in that section.  If we can take 2700 up north you’ve got to say it’s a top turnout.  10% of our regular supporters travelling.

Not sure what the other top 8 teams are doing at the weekend - can’t be arsed to look. But we do need to win to maintain momentum and keep up with the drive to the top 2. It’s pretty tight in the top 10 or so places, so not winning could mean a slow decline in our position which will be tough to claw back. We should have enough to win convincingly, but it’s the Championship and strange stuff can happen. Should be 0-3 if Manning and Stephens have decent games.

Few interesting games

Birmingham v Swansea stands out

Unfortunately Boro have a kind fixture at Watford,  few hard to predict such as Pompey v Stoke.

I think West Ham get a win at Blackburn

2700 in excellent, I noticed West Ham have sold out over 7000 for Blackburn so there will be loads of them on the trains via Preston and motorway services as well

Yes. It was another truly pathetic performance and the final nail in the coffin of Will Still's managerial reign (who realistically should have been given his P45 immediately after the total clusterfuck at Blackburn the week before).

One of the scorers was Lewis Dobbin, showing good strength to take advantage of some shambolic defending.

7k is top class for this stage of the season and the ‘turmoil’ they’re in, fair play. Far too many trips to the north west this season, it’s a lot of travel for us. Big allocations available though so those who want to go, can. Much easier from London of course with direct trains to Manchester, without having to remortgage.

That was a low point, come a long way in the last 12 months, I recall fans laughing at the club promoting half season tickets going on sale "who'd want one of those", a mate bought them for him and his lad as Christmas presents turned out to be a bargain

This was from the same game

I hope Tonda doesn't experiment and the team is on it from the onset. Otherwise it may well be another one of those games that Saints balls up.

Tonda's ability to 'experiment' if that's what you want to call it is one of his strengths imo. Rather that than a manager like Russboy who churns out the exact same tactics week in week out. The Bolton game has been cited as one where Tonda 'experimented' but we should have won that comfortably had we taken our chances and been given a stonewall penalty.

On this day 6th November 2020, we beat Newcastle utd 2-0 on a Friday night to go top of the Premier League. Top of the world. Just thought I would let everyone have a happy Friday😁

I've decided to trek up to Preston pretty last minute with my son, going to stay in Blackpool Saturday night and ride some rollercoasters on Sunday.

My last visit to Preston, and my first ever away game, was a 5-1 defeat in October 2007, with our only goal being a Preston own goal. Great memories.

I hope Tonda changes the side but it wouldn't surprise me to see Mubama and Edozie start in this one. He might look back at the second half and think we did ok with them on the pitch and, of course, Edozie scored. I'd rather see them replaced by Dobbin and Fellows but suspect Tonda will give them another chance.

Mubama is not going to start...Dobbin will (unless injured)

I was at that game as I lived not far from Preston for 12 years. It was a horrific night sitting with my Preston-supporting mates. Still have a soft spot for the town though. Was a bit rough and ready but never had any trouble when out and about and drinks were ridiculously cheap back then. The legendary Tokyo Joe's and Fives were the establishments of choice back in the day, now both sadly gone.....

Get a nice early goal and could be a very enjoyable, comfortable afternoon...

For me:

Peretz
Bree Stephens Schlotts Manning
JWP Downes
Matsuki Azaz Scienza
Dobbin

Start quickly please Saints!

When is the press conference?

There isn't one. When they have midweek games they tend to just reserve some time off the back of the post-match press conference for Blackmore/House etc to get some quotes looking ahead to the next game

Looking back, i don't recognize that side as the team we have today. Body language is awful, and they just don't look like a side - just individuals in a situation they didn't want to be in. Incredible turn around under Eckert.

That game was my wife’s first visit. Since then I’ve dragged her to various parts of the UK under the guise of weekends away only to find ourselves watching Saints!! We return to Preston tomorrow!

See he managed to balloon one over the bar from distance before the goal as well.

A pensioner in goal.

Three at the back, with two of those three Edwards and Wood, and our best defender THB played out of position on the left of the three.

Roerslev as a wing back.

Azaz wasted playing too wide.

A dwarf at centre forward.

Damion Downs as our option to come off the bench and add more of an attacking threat.

God, Still was shit.

It's absolutely incredible how far we've come in a year under Tonda, especially given all the other distractions.
