Increase in Season Ticket Prices ?

My source within the club (and it will not be revealed) has told me today that manager of the Ticket office went to the board of the club with his proposal for next years prices with two scenarios allowing for us being relegated, both were reducing the price, currently being paid, but two certain people who shall stay nameless rejected this out of hand and has told him there will not be any price reductions but an increase on the cost of a season ticket next year regardless of what division we are in. I personally can not confirm or deny this but he would have no reason to BS me on this!!

If that is the case, time will tell, there a lot of ST holders undecided at the moment an increase will help them make their minds up and tell the club to stick it, I know I will fter 22 years.

something along my thoughts, my sorce knows I have been a loyal season ticket holder

If we have been relegated it will be about the extra games that were getting !!!

What extra games ?

I doubt if the "ticket manager" is even consulted on the matter to be honest.

This is about revenue not bits of paper. The financial director will have outlined the revenue needs in either case, relegation/status quo. The commercial (David Luker head of supporters services) department will have had it's ear to the ground , they'll make projections on possible ST numbers but at the end of the day the board will decide on pricing.

My source told me that two people in the room who will remain nameless said that all children under the age of two within the city boundaries must be slaughtered and their heads brought as offerings to the Mick Channon suite.

Then, and only then, will the renewal forms be sent out. Oh, and the price will double.

I thought you were keeping me as an anonymous source :(

They would put the prives up, then tell everyone that the price increase is less than inflation and how much value we would be getting

Can see this 'spin' being put out.

Also a statement along the lines of.... 'The Board is confident that the actual number of games expected to be won in Division 1 will exceed the solitary victory achieved in the Championship. Ergo the points per pound spent ratio will decrease'

Seriously with the economy likely to get worse, even Prem clubs like Sunderland/P'mouth & Arsenal are either offering deals on Season Tickets or Corporates

I can see the logic in holding/increasing prices. Saints are down to the hardcore rockbottom (go no matter what) fanbase now so they are ripe for exploitation. Reducing prices won't correlate to enough extra bums on seats to offset any reduction IMO.

And my former sister's mate's secret source tells me that he heard it on good authority that the forum itself will go into administration, thus clearing all current and historical threads based on -

Rumours

Libel

Takeovers

Shares

The stock exchange

Players we will never sign

Local engineering company redundancies

And perhaps we could then concentrate our future efforts on discussing facts around the simple topics of

a. Football

b. The best way forward for Saints.

I don't have a date for this yet but I can make one up if it makes it more plausible?

In view of the outstanding level of entertainment on offer at St Marys this season and the teams unequalled record of consistent results I feel confident that the entire fanbase will happily fall into line behind a price rise . It would be a duty if not a privilege to hand over more of our hard-earned cash to support the Chairman's revolutionary football vision .

The only thing I ask is can we have more of the same next season Rupert ? and please , please increase the ST price to at least £1000 , as that should keep the riff raff out .

Sometimes I think people make these things up to set off another whinge-fest against the board.

Is there an agenda here or were you just bored?

Mate at work. Cardiff supporter has just ordered Early Bird season ticket for St David's Stadium (if that's what it is going to be called) for £325, regardless of what division they are in. Prem or Champ. That sounds good value for money to me.

You have to put it in perspective though - that will buy you a house in Pontypool.
