saints_is_the_south Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 Could be quite interesting. Any ideas to show our disgust in the team? Turning our backs to them? I'm personally up getting outside and egging all of their flash cars sat out in the car park.
Griffo Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 Great way of attracting investment. To be honest though, I agree they deserve no appreciation at all, apart from a small number of them.

Katalinic Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 There wasn't one when we were relegated from the premier league so if we drop next week I wouldn't imagine there would be one. You can't blame some of the kids that have been put in this position and they don't deserve abuse. Most right minded fans know exactly where the blame lies. eelpie Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 If they win I will be more interested in other results. If they lose I will just walk out, but I don't think they would dare try a lap of honour, personally. Actually, on consideration, Kelvin does deserve applause alone for doing his best almost consistently throughout the season. Our goals deficit would be humiliatingly bad without some of his spectacular saves.

And therein lies the crux of the problem with the players though - if you are forever relying on your keeper to get you out of a mess then the 10 players in front of him cant be up to much. Yes the kids don't deserve to get slaughtered, but the sad fact remains - we just weren't good enough anywhere on the park apart from maybe Kelvin. rocknrollman no2 Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 When i think of all those great players ive seen at the end of the season take a lap of honour in the past,i feel so sad and very angry that all we have now are a bunch of gutless, underperforming chancers who are not fit to clean the toilets, let alone wear the shirt. If they do a lap of honour, the only player i will clap will be Kelvin Davis.

Blanco Saint Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 Just heard from a friend that Rupert will do the lap on his own next week. Apparently he is ready to take an ovation from the Saint Mary's faithful for the tremendous work and effort he has put in for many years. I feel a man so humble, forward thinking and honest really should get the respect he deserves. Apparently he is looking to borrow the pope mobile if available. Don't ask me to reveal the source, you just have to trust me.

No you can't, and I don't think anyone is. We weren't good enough on the pitch, that's probably what people are blaming the players for - Davis excluded. Which one do you think didn't want to be better and wanted us to go down? TBH Surman hasn't been great last half of the season Lallana had a good start and then has been ****e with the exception of last week Euell hasn't been amazing DMG is a lazy bugger who has started trying bit to late for my liking so yes i am disgusted with some of these players and at the end of the day the players play not the board... they have played games where they've had not even an inch of passion and what am i suppose to be proud of that? lordswoodsaints Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 the players dont deserve my applause so i wont be giving it,even if by some slim chance we do manage to pull off a miracle and escape relegation i still wont be clapping the players......what i will be applauding is the fans that have had to watch that sh1t all season, the ones that stuck it out even though they knew we were on a one way ride, the ones that actually put money into the club. i also dont subscribe to the 'its not the young players fault' sh1t,from a very early age those youngsters live for one thing and thats to play football, they have been given their chance and on the most part failed. if we had walcott, bale, rooney and a few of the other youngsters making a name for themselves in our team, would we be saying that? the truth is our youngsters would be sh1t whatever age they were,if they are crap now the chances are they will be crap for the rest of their careers. Kelvin can be proud of his season. James, DMG, Perry and Skacel have done ok. Surman and Lallana have disappointed. Can't say I am disgusted at any of them, Euell's finishing has been appalling but he has worked. Others have shown lack of form and confidence, but with better players around them and more stability behind them it would have been different. I'm personally up getting outside and egging all of their flash cars sat out in the car park. If we win against Burnley the chances are we'll be in a position where a win at Forest will keep us up. With that in mind now is not the time to turn on the players. But we have to beat Burnley - if we lose feel free to tell them exactly what you think of them. Absolute silence when they're announced. No, we have to be behind the team at K/O as we aren't quite dead and burried yet.

In his first season with us I panned him, and rightly so he was sh1t, but he transformed his form last season and has single handedly earned/saved us dozens of points this season. teamsaint Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 I think that next saturday has to be all about OUR pride in Our team and OUR city. While there is a faint chance of CCC survival we must back the "team", but the day needs to be about the real football club, the fans without whom there certainly would be no club, coming together to show pride and unity. years ago, I remember Aldershot fans , and I can't remember if it was their last game in the league or before going out of business, Standing together, singing over and over "Aldershot will never die". What faith that small band showed that night. And they were right. They did it. Show that film on the screens at SMS. THAT was true support, THAT is how we must be , in a very dark hour, for the club WE love.
