Many thanks to Ant and apologies for not updating sooner - only just spotted the reply.

I have now updated the original post. I should stress that the U21 and U18 information is estimated in some cases - it's clearly deliberate but for this group of players the club generally chooses not to make the end date of contract public. It usually refers to "x year extension" - unless you know when the previous contract expired that is not very helpful. For example, Lloyd Isgrove recently signed a one year extension. I don't think he was out of contract this year (if he were, he would have been mentioned when the retained list was announced). This would indicate it was a 1 year extension to a contract ending in 2014 or later - so I think his contract ends in 2015, but it could be later.

I'll continue to keep updated - any further information gratefully received.

Excellent work, sir. That all tallies with my sources (which strangely don't have any information for Chris Johns either).

When it's written like that, it's interesting to see quite a few young players have contracts expiring this Summer. Would've been even more without the recent flurry of contract announcements. Wonder how many more will be secured?

Nice bit of info sourcing - might be worth listing the loanees as such, because if Alderweireld has a pre-contract (which apparently he must do because all international loans are conducted as full transfers) his end date isn't 2015, but Atletico have to pay a break clause to terminate the option.

what's happening with Callum Slattery ? can he sign pro forms yet or is he still stalling (according to an old mirror article)

I don't know the answer to your question but I've added to the first list those scholars such as Callum Slattery who have played for U18s this season but are not yet 1st or 2nd year scholars (well not according to the OS anyway).

Yes, and the "by year" list does not include the academy players. I assume decisions will be needed on many (the majority?) of 2nd year scholars this year.

Now added - good point.

So now Mugabe has a long contract... what is about centre backs that suddenly we are signing up all our young hopefuls when we already have 4 of the best in the PL on our books? Is there maybe a Les Reed plan to sell on all our current stars in a year or two for massive money and field a squad of Englishmen?

Well yes that is actually the plan, if you recall that the plan for the club is to have 50% of the first team at least to be from the academy. How and when is another matter but that is the plan.

Wow Osvaldo and Mayuka still have a couple of years to run.

I guess with Mayuka it depends on whether the tweet yesterday that was hastily removed was genuine or not.

No real surprise for Osvaldo, he was presumably brought in on a 4 year deal, this is only the end of his second season with us.

Who will stay and go?

2016

Maarten Stekelenburg (loan expires)

Kelvin Davis

Will Britt

Joshua Debayo

Jake Flannigan

Gastón Ramírez

Marcus Barnes

2nd year scholars 2015-16

Jake Hallett

Richard Bakary

Kyle Clinton

Ollie Cook

Alfie Jones

Joe Lea

Stuart Wilkin

Olufela Olomola

Carel Kayembe

I think Jones and Olomola have featured pretty prominantly in the u21 so likely to be offered new deals. Anyone else from those, or the more senior players? I thought Debayo had potential from a few pre-season games I saw but hasnt done much since. Flannigan unfortunately doesnt seem to have pushed on and not sure about Barnes either? Ramirez will get a good contract elsewhere and Davis to retire, with Stek either signing permanently or returning to Fulham.

I'm interested to know from those that have seen a fair bit of him this season whether Gazzaniga looks anywhere near ready to step up to number 2 goalkeeper?

No mate far too many mistakes. Decent enough shot stopper but doesn't command his 6 yard box enough.

Kicking is ok but doesn't claim crosses and I remember at least 4 down to him

He's needed a loan move ever since we signed him.

(I don't mean that in a disparaging way either)

Agree. He is not good enough to play any more than 5 or so games.

You need the backup keeper to be capable of 20.

I'd want the backup keeper not to play any. But then I'd also definitely sign Stekelenburg anyway, and definitely send Gazzaniga out on loan.

You want them to play none.

You need them to be good enough to play quite a few if they have to without costing you loads of points because one player is injured or unavailable.

Since we came back to the PL we have probably lost more points than anyone else because of substandard backup GKs.

Until Stek/Forster our second GKs have been third/fourth GK quality.

Considering his confidence was totally shot two years ago I guess that sounds like a slight improvement, but it still makes me wonder why he ever got that second four year deal.

I wonder too if Skek will settle for a reserve keeper slot now that Fraser is fully fit?

Depends on what other offers he has - my job has just be made redundant, and I for one would defo be understudy for someone in my line of work!

In 2014 we announced the retained list on 17 May and last year we announced it on 26 May (the Premier League announced a consolidated list of all clubs in June). So I would expect something within the next week or two.

I've updated the opening post with Thomas O'Connor's contract. A two and a half year deal is odd - surely that means his contract ends mid-season? I've assumed that the half relates to the rest of this season - and it's then 2 years from the start of the new season i.e. contract ends at end of the 2017-18 season. But it's not very clear.
