Markus Liebherr!

SOTONS EAST SIDE

Swiss based Liebherr family member with a $1.4 billion wealth! ;)

Not enough cash.

Also, I used to translate Liebherr company reports. Swiss companies don't have to reveal jack diddly about their ownership structure in comparison to Uk, German, Dutch and French companies. They don't (didn't) reveal directors' salaries, they may be publicly listed, but the control resides entirely with family owned preference shares (many different layers thereof).

Which makes it good news, coz owners can do whatever they want without having to bother with pesky ordinary share holders!!!

1.4 billion dollars???

My fear was he only had a couple of millions to his name.

So I will ask the questions Why Saints?

Why invest in a football club when you clearly don't need anymore cash.

Ps I will be happy when it's done :-)

Because it's a fantastic investment.

This is a club with premier league facilities and support levels that due to be run by a procession of a**holes is currently languishing in div 1.

With a modest outlay and a bit of TLC there's no reason why we can't get back to the premier league and be sold for a tidy profit.

Don't want to stir up any homophobia here but literally translated Liebherr means "love man".

On reflection it could have various other connotations - love my fellow man, enough to save a football club for them, or Like, love, man - the hippie turn of phrase about free love - of course if and when the takeover goes through, Herr Liebherr will be a very well loved man by all Saints fans - a football loving, mega rich philanthropist - ticks all the right boxes for me - think I could be turned - wonder if he's available! :smt008

Almost! Love is "Liebe" in German, so we're missing an 'e' and Herr means "Mr" so if anything it translates to "Lov Mr" :D Sorry to be pedantic.

I don't care what he does in his private life and long as he'll show us the colour of his EUROS - and soon.

If we have to wait for Switzerland to join the EU and the euro before the takeover goes through, we will all be F5ing for years to come...

I would ride Christina like seabiscuit

Just seen a small pic of her and her horse. Couldn't enlarge it, but have to say she has a look of Sally Taylor (BBC South Today). Nothing wrong with that of course, just putting it out there. :-)

Does this help?

Here is one in the training kit

She'll do.

I am sure that I speak for all Saints fans (with common sense) that this sort of behaviour and posting should result in immediate bans. What if Markus were to see this board and he was related to her in some way? He would almost certainly pull out of the deal, as would any right minded individual.

Come on guys, let's not ruin this deal by smutty comments.

I think this is him

OK, the next step is ..

..everyone with a Barclays account can move their money over to a numbered bank account in Switzerland.

THEN:

Everyone go out and buy a cuckoo clock.

Buy some of that ridiculous Swiss cheese with the holes in it.

Get your own personal Swiss flag (Red and white of course.)

Book your next ski holiday in Gstaad....

Practise yodelling " When the Saints go Marching in ..." and

finally : everyone listen to, and get sexed up on the Overture to William Tell.

(OK I know Rossini was Italian), but Tell was a Swiss hero...so is this guy.

Much as I think the whole "fnarr, horsie fit bird" thing is a bit 14-year old virgin, and I can see your point about it not being the kind of thing someone would like to see of their sister, I think bans are a bit OTT (at least while she's got her clothes on in posed pictures) and I'm really hoping the bid's not so tenous that anything posted on this board would make the blindest bit of difference.

Having said that, can't blame us for paranoia at this point...

Spot on. With a relatively small investment (say £10m a season over 2 season) in management and players he could have a club he could sell for £50m+ in 2-3 years time.

I am overcome with contrition. I have given myself a smack.

In the early 1970s, Hans Liebherr moved his residence from Germany to Switzerland in order to avoid the hefty German inheritance tax. Then Hans Liebherr transferred stock ownership in his enterprise to his children. The company was split in two parts: a German holding company for all business activities in Germany and another holding company based in Switzerland for all the other subsidiaries. Hans, Jr., Markus, and Hubert Liebherr received equal shares in the German holding company. Willi and Isolde Liebherr were co-owners of the Swiss holding company. However, despite the transfer of ownership, Hans Liebherr remained in control of his enterprise through a power of attorney with each of his children. In 1983, the company's headquarters were moved to Switzerland after the establishment of the new Swiss-based management holding company Liebherr-International AG.

After Hans Liebherr's daughter and four sons had finished their education in their late 20s and early 30s, they all started working as full-time executives at their father's business. The company founder's oldest son, Hans, Jr., studied engineering and economics. Willi Liebherr became a mechanical engineer, while his younger brother Markus studied engineering with an agricultural focus. Hubert, the youngest of the Liebherr brothers, became a construction engineer, and their sister Isolde studied business administration. Hubert Liebherr managed an excavator plant in Algeria, Isolde was responsible for the hotels, and the other Liebherr siblings had management positions in production or marketing. However, around 1990, Hubert Liebherr gave his share in the family business back to his father.

Second Liebherr Generation Takes Over in 1990

When company founder Hans Liebherr died in 1993, at age 78, his industrial enterprise generated roughly $2.5 billion in sales annually. Now it was time for the second Liebherr generation to take over management of the family enterprise. Hans, Jr. took over responsibility for the crane and concrete mixing business, Willi for earth moving equipment, and Isolde for the refrigerator production and hotels. Markus Liebherr, however, had changed his life plans and gave most of his shares in the company back to his brothers and sister. Hans, Jr., Willi, and Isolde met every other week to discuss the basic decisions concerning investment, product development, and finances.

He's skint!!! He gave it all away. :'( :smt073
