Emergency load rules: http://www.football-league.co.uk/regulations/20130704/section-6-players_2293633_2125731#53

53.3 Emergency and Youth Loans. Subject to the provisions of Regulation 52.2, Emergency Loan and Youth Loan transfers shall only be approved in accordance with the following provisions:

53.3.1 Notwithstanding the definition of Parent Club, Emergency and Youth Loans may only be concluded with clubs affiliated (directly or through County Football Associations) to the Football Association unless any club not so affiliated plays in any of the competitions set out in Regulation 53.2.1.

53.3.2 Emergency and Youth Loans are permitted both during the Transfer Windows and, subject to the provisions of Regulation 53.3.5, also during a Closed Period between Clubs (or, as applicable, clubs) in membership of The Football League, The Premier League and The Football Conference (Premier Division).

53.3.3 During the Transfer Windows, Emergency Loans and Youth Loans are also permitted between Clubs and, as applicable, clubs in membership of the Football Conference (North), Football Conference (South), Northern Premier League, the Isthmian League and Southern League providing the rules and regulations of the respective league so allow. Any Emergency Loan concluded in accordance with this Regulation may be renewed during a Closed Period provided the renewal is simultaneous with the expiry of the immediately preceding period of the Emergency Loan.

53.3.4 Notwithstanding the provisions of Regulations 53.3.2 and 53.3.3, a Player cannot be registered on an Emergency Loan or Youth Loan:

(a) during the period of seven days after the end of a Transfer Window;

(b) in the first half of the Season, after 5pm on the fourth Thursday in November; and

© in the second half of the Season, after 5pm on the fourth Thursday in March

unless in accordance with the provisions of Regulation 54.

53.3.5 Only:

(a) Scholars who are in the second or third (if that option is exercised) year of their Scholarship Agreement; or

(b) Contract Players aged 20 or under on 1st July immediately preceding the Season in question,

may be registered on a Youth Loan.

53.3.6 It shall be a condition of any Youth Loan involving a Scholar, or a Contract Player who continues to qualify as an Academy Player, that for the duration of the period of the Youth Loan the Player continues to fully comply with the programme of education in place for that Player.

53.3.7 A Player registered on a Youth Loan may, provided this is agreed between the two clubs and the Player, continue to train with and/or play for his Parent Club (or club) in any match other than matches played as part of the Premier League Competition, League Competition, League Cup, Football Association Challenge Cup or Football League Trophy (First Team Matches). Participation by the Player in First Team Matches for the Loaning Club shall take precedence.

53.3.8 Any days on which the Player participates in a reserve team match and/or attends any training sessions for the Loaning Club (or club)) shall still count towards the period of the Youth Loan.

53.3.9 Except for the specific circumstances provided for in Regulations 53.3.11, 53.3.12 and 54, the minimum duration of any Emergency Loan and Youth Loan shall be 28 days and the maximum duration of an Emergency Loan is 93 days. The loan period is inclusive of the starting date and the finishing date. Youth Loans may not extend beyond the date of the Player's 21st birthday.

53.3.10 Emergency Loans and Youth Loans may contain a break clause but only where that break clause is exercisable after the expiry of the initial 28 day period of the loan.

53.3.11 Emergency Loans and Youth Loans involving goalkeepers (but not otherwise) may be subject to a recall clause within the first 28 days. Any recall may only be implemented in extenuating circumstances and with the consent of the Executive, such extenuating circumstances to be determined in the Executive's absolute discretion.

53.3.12 The Executive shall have discretion to extend the maximum duration of 93 days for an Emergency Loan in extenuating circumstances, such circumstances to be determined in the Executive's absolute discretion.

53.3.13 Subject to Regulation 53.3.14, where the Emergency Loan or Youth Loan of a Player expires (and is not renewed simultaneously) any subsequent Emergency Loan or Youth Loan of that Player to the same Club will be subject to a minimum duration of 28 days as set out in Regulation 53.3.9.

53.3.14 The cumulative total number of days of all Emergency Loans of one Player to the same Club may not exceed 93 days (unless extended by the Executive in accordance with the provisions of Regulation 53.3.12).

This is an interesting one:

"53.3.4 Notwithstanding the provisions of Regulations 53.3.2 and 53.3.3, a Player cannot be registered on an Emergency Loan or Youth Loan:

© in the second half of the Season, after 5pm on the fourth Thursday in March

unless in accordance with the provisions of Regulation 54."

I make that 5pm TODAY.

So, since this thread started, how many managers have they had?, and what is the combined win percentage?

And generally, on a scale of 1 to 1,000,000, how much entertainment have they provided for Saints fans in that period?

I'd say 1,000, 000 (on the entertainment scale rather than the number of managers!)

Correct. Nothing there to say what constitutes an 'emergency'. According to

http://www.e-comlaw.com/world-sports-law-report/article_template.asp?Contents=Yes&from=wslr&ID=1403

'The 'emergency loan' system -* under FA and Football League regulations - allows Football League clubs to take on loan players not receiving regular first team football, often to cover injuries. '

It also says 'FIFA orders end of 'emergency loans' in England by 2014/15', so they'll have to make the most of it while they can ...

Easy then, Awford will be testing the reflexes of the really bad players with a sledgehammer this afternoon

O'Hara will get an unpleasant surprise if he does sign when he realises facilities are not what they once were... I just don't think he's the type of person who take a blow like that very well.

you seen his wife, he will settle for any old rubbish

They want him gone. They've even tried giving him away. He is just sitting tight and pulling in the ££.

And now, given that giving him away didn't work, they're getting nasty with him and sending him back to Pompey for a bit. That's pretty evil, tbf....

And, given that, what possible benefit for him is there in scrapping for points with a losing side at the bottom of League 2? I'd rather jog round the pitch for Wolves reserves.

Ohara is a decent player and he was the only one who shone when we played them in the Cup. He would make a massive difference to them.If they have to contribute 10k for 6 weeks that is nothing compared to the loss of going down.

OK, own up, who's Ohio_Pompey? because the following just made me crease up!

" Good decision made at last. Clear out his assistant(s) unless of course he is a specialist goalkeeping coach of which we need, but the chances are he'll follow Barker if he ever gets another job. Next, Mr Catlin, he has to go for brainwashing the board to employ Barker. Not a big enough thinker outside of a small club box. After him or at the same time some plan has to be made to have the Tesco deal stopped. We may get part of a new stand for the deal but we need to think bigger and further into the future and have all the land available for a rotation or ground shift. Beyond maybe our lifetime, so pay off Mr Robinson somehow or have him change his mind on the land deal. The club needs to have room to get to 30,000+ preferably 100 or so more capacity than our neighbors' (US Spellcheck). Sounds silly in the present climate, but that is no reason to have Tesco come in. Next manager? Not sure but he needs to be a Pompey man I believe, at least until we have a finance plan that could handle a larger character, as we creep back up."

When you're the bestest, there's always people chasing your title, wanting to steal your crown and your glory. From the BBC:

League One leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers will be backed by 8,800 travelling fans at MK Dons on Saturday. Wolves could have reached the 10,000 targeted by fans following a social media campaign '10K2MK' encouraging mass numbers to go.

But more than 8,800 would have compromised the safety of both sets of supporters. Wolves' away support is their biggest since taking 12,000 to Black Country rivals West Bromwich Albion in December 1990.

"To get this type of following for an away game is unique," says Wolves boss Kenny Jackett. "It's not something I've experienced before."

You should apply for the vacant position at Pompey, Kenny. Apparently this happens every away game for them....

If he mutually consented to leaving why did he tell Neil Allen that he spent the morning chasing loan players? Doesn't seem the sane actions of a man who knew he was about to depart?

Strikes me as the actions of a man who refused to walk away for nothing and they needed a board meeting to sanction the paying up of his contract.

They'll stay up, they finally realised the Barker was mad just in time. They only need about six points IMHO .

He does look quite mad, doesn't he? He always looked small-time to me, too - the sort that would be bawling out instructions at an under-9s game. Gutted to see him go to be honest, he really looked like he could lead them into the Conference.

I agree, but at least now he can get back to tracking down the Jordan Belfort's of this world.
