Pardew, that was Pathetic

Sorry Mr Pardew, but I just have to say this

Mr Pardew, Saints versus Brighton, that was Pathetic

I have seen Saints Teams in their old Third Division days play better than YOUR lack lustre lot did against Brighton

Brighton "Wanted" it, Saints did not

Where was the FOOTBALL Mr Pardew. Why the long hoof up in the air all the time, fodder for Division One defenders.

All YOUR Team did was kick and run, NO FOOTBALL Mr Pardew

It is now quite obvious to me that SFC NEVER had any intention of going for a play off position this season. which is a great pity, because

A) We do have the players to get us there. but

B) IF you had told us a few months ago, that you were not going to bother this season, then it would have saved a lot of us Supporters a lot of money

It is also obvious that this season's "Ambitions" is purely for the Johnstons Paint Trophy, which I for one do not think you will be successful in.

An average of 20000 fans have stayed loyal to Saints, and to you Mr Pardew, and all you can do is put out a side that serves us up the Krap we had to endure against Brighton

PATHETIC Mr Pardew, Absolutely PATHETIC

I am a Season Ticket holder, but at this moment in time, I wish I

wasn't, because I feel I have been duped

If someone had told me after the Bristol Rovers defeat we'd go unbeaten in ages and then lose to Brighton, I'd have taken it with bells on. It's performances like this that will encourage Pardew to go out and shop around in the transfer window. Looking forward to it.

Ridiculous post! Dont really know where to begin with this one.

Completely knee jerk, one of those typical fans we can do without. First defeat in about 10 games or whatever it his, and he's thrown his dummy out the pram.

"all you can do is put out a side that serves us up the Krap we had to endure against Brighton" - mate this was not a lot different from the teams we've seen play brilliantly in recent weeks. As far as im concerned, i saw the teamsheet and thought it was our strongest squad. They had an off game, its hardly AP's fault for "sending out a team that serves krap".

Im thoroughly p1ssed off with the result, but it was not through lack of effort from what i saw. We dominted in posession, just lacked the creativity today. We had a few chances, hammond and rickie could quite easily have scored today.

AP has done a fantastic job so far, he's lived up to my expectations. As a season ticket holder, i would have though after the last couple of months you would be able to come up with a more balanced post. PATHETIC.

Pardew has done OK so far but I think expectations are too high.

The team is pretty good but not excellent as some posters suggest.

We will continue to win more games than we lose but getting into the play offs is going to be difficult.

To be fair Brighton played some scintillating football today - their first half performance was the best I've seen from any team at St Mary's this season . But the harsh truth is we played a major part in our own downfall - Jaidi and Trotman were both poor , it seems to me Jaidi's 'crime' is to be good player who thinks he's a great one , he's too casual sometimes like Rio Ferdinand is at a higher level . Hammond clearly needs to be rested (so much for all our never change a winning team merchants) and Schneiderlin seems to be making little progress this season in all honesty . Lloyd James continues to deliver exactly the same diagonal cross from midfield positions without ever threatening the dead ball line as a quality full back should , the return of Murty will almost certainly strengthen the team .

As for positives Adam Lallana's class should be apparent to all and Antonio can be dangerous intermittently . No one doubts Lambert and Connolly , they just had a bad day at the office I trust .

We've played very well lately but all good things must come to an end I suppose - we've a tough test upcoming against Norwich on Saturday and if we lose that the chances of reaching the play-offs will start to look even more unlikely than they do now . :(

I'm sorry SaintRichmond, but I have to disagree. Today, unfortunately, was just one of those days! Hard to swallow, and painful to watch, but, it wasn;t necessarily to lack of effort, but IMO, lack of sharpness. We couldn't pass the ball today, and that doesn;t happen because of the manager. If you were there today, one thing I noticed, was that the Saints players were taling an extra touch and an extra second or two before looking for the pass. In games recently, we knew what we were doing and where our players were and we moved the ball on quickly and shifted there defence around. Didn;t happen today, but I really can;t blame Pardew solely for todays performance.

To be fair, I thought the ref had about as bad a game as any Saints player, but I can forgive him that, because, everyone in red and white (except probably Antonio) had a shocker.

Even the crowd were shocking were awful today, yes we started off in good voice and in good humour. But, into the second half, there was barely a continued song for any length of time.

BUT, the thing that annoyed me more than anything today, was when Brighton scored there third goal with ten minutes still left to play, and HALF the crowd got up and left! That's dedication for you! One bad game in 9 and our 'fans' turn their back on the team! I was ashamed when Brighton started the familiar "we can see you sneaking out". Really, I was ashamed that our fans are so fickle, leave ten minutes early, why? To avoid the rush on the way home? It really did cap an awful day on the pitch today. But, I do hope that none of those that got up and walked out on that third goal, come on here and belittle the players, because they showed as much fight as the team did. Really, really disappointed all round.

However, 3 points next week end!

Too much beer, Saint Richmond, far too much beer. No doubt you were saying "442 442 442" not "451 451 451" or something else. Pfah!

The key to a "good" team is to not have losing runs - lose one, get back to normal. get points on the board.

Pardew out

(plus more goal attempts: difference was $h!t defending for 25 minutes then not taking any of many chances)

Dear oh dear. I will fight for ANY poster's right to freely express their opinions, but FFS at least have the courtesy to explain your thinking behind those opinions.

Hoofball? Sorry, you obviously never watched Wimbledon, the definition of that is the Keeper or CB's belting the ball into the air. It is NOT a full back trying to cross from 40 yards out on the touchline. At least get your basic facts right.

If ANYTHING, we tried to play too many passes across the pitch - and then get the ball to James who tried to hit it into the box that is tactital naivety, it ain't hoofball.

Yes, blame James for not trying to work overlap positions, blame Lallana for being the player to get in to a couple of clear cut heading chances on goal, but Hoofball? Good grief, you'll be wanting Lowe back next.

This is not serious surely ?

We have now lost 2 games in 15.....as opposed to the last couple of seasons where 2 wins in 15 games was treated as a good run.

We lost a games, it was always going to happen eventually, and it happened today.

Get over it FFS.......if that is your reaction to a defeat go and support Man Utd or Chelsea.

BTW, have you been waiting since the Bristol Rovers defeat (the other one in the last 15 games) to post that crap ?

appalling, when will we keep a clean sjeet and win convincingly. We concede more than a goal a game, James is shocking, he was at fault at the back several times

He is not a right back, and never will be. We have got away with him being there for a fair few games now and he was always going to get caught out soon, admittedly I didnt think it would be against Brighton.

He looked good in his natural position the other night when Morgan went off injured.

The only clean sheets we have kept this season have been when Murty or Thomas have been at right back, I dont believe that is a coincidence.

Dear oh dear....bet you wished you hadn't posted that nonsense.

I think, given the run we have been on, it is natural to feel a bit disappointed - but keep things in perspective FFS! Harding got done up like a kipper for the first goal. Second goal was just a great little dink inside and left the centre halves looking like mugs. Great save as it happens but bad luck it came stright back across the goal off the post. Then came that penalty shout. At the stadium I was convinced that it was not a penalty, and I was also convinced that the one we got was not a penalty. Having seen the slow-mo though, they were both penalties. We could probably have been 3-1 down at half time. Second half was all Saints TBH and Hammond had a great chance to level things up which he fluffed. Then we got mugged on the break - Lallana let his man go and by the time he realised it was too late. Still, what better way to bounce back that to stick it to Norwich next week.

Saint Richmonmd, you sir are a grade A spanner -

Can we please put Saint Richmond in a time machine and take him back six months so he can get some perspective.

Plus what's with the Pardew's pre season promotion intentions having a bearing on whether you support your club.....I've so much more to say but will not waste my breathe

Have to agree with Chapel-End Charlie - Brighton played very well and made us look ordinary. We didn't have a plan B, they didn't need one as their plan A worked a treat.

My biggest disappointment was that we didn't try anything more radical than switching the ball from wing to wing in an effort to disrupt them - they had us totally sussed out and neutralised most of our attacks. Our game was crying out for someone to try a one-two with Rickie through the centre.

Sorry but 'hoofball' it was. The ball was in the air far too much as it has been for most of the time this year so far. OK we are a big strong team now and have bossed games mostly physically but we were always going to struggle against a team that played football against us and that's exactly what happened today. We have to keep hold of the ball and work it to dangerous positions before 'crossing' it from the half way line like we did today - monotonously.............
