Danns likely to sign today

There when Franny scored

Not nice to be a Palarse fan right now...

Palace are my Portsmouth as I grew up in S London and most of my school mates gave me grief whenever they beat us.

After the stick that Jordan gave Lowe I am enjoying a quiet chuckle at the state of Palace right now!

Good news.

But two sigings of around 1mil pushed through nice and early in the window, leaves me hoping agents don't start messing with the heads of Lallana or Morgan. We sure don't want or need to sell but the magical agent's words - "you're only one bad tackle from a life on the dole" can undo a great deal of other positive news.

Let's see if things really are moving the right way for us on the good news front, as these signings at this time could really push us on.

Now we just need cover for Lambo and Murty & we may just start to push on again

Has he? Probably one of the positions we have been least settled

yeah - well according to the palace forums. I was reading through their match reports/motm reports etc - he features in them a fair bit and he always seems to be on the right hand side.

He's scored a few goals this year too.

Indeed, wouldnt be surprised if AP is looking at him more for the RM position whilst also adding cover for MS and DH. sounds like a direct replacement for Mellis (better mind)

Or

---------Hammond

------Morgan----Danns

Waigo-------------------Lallana

Love the look of that!

----------Davis----------

James--Jaidi--Fonte--Harding

---------Hammond----------

------Morgan--Danns--------

Waigo----------------Lallana

---------Lambert------------

Subs: Bart, Perry, Wotton, Mills, Connolly, Antonio, Paterson

That team would easily reach the play-offs this season imo.

Out of interest, Is Hammond not more of an attacking midfielder than Spiderman? Would they not be swapped in your line up?

I only mention as I have had bets on morgan to score, but he always seems so much further back than Hammond, it looks unlikely!

Agree that that's a cracking looking side tho!

I think Schneiderlin could be an effective defensive midfielder in a 3 man centre midfield. Think of him in the Xabi Alonso role - breaking up play and then spraying passes around. He has definitely improved his tackling and work rate this season so it's worth a try in my opinion. Then Hammond and potentially Danns could push on in more attacking roles.

As much as i'd love it to happen, I can't see Stock coming here. I'm guessing if we're interested in a couple of central midfielders (rumoured interest in Scott Arfield from Falkirk as well) then it looks like we may be losing one of our own players to another club. My guess is Schneiderlin, he's obviously a class above this level and I reckon HCDAJ in the Prem, especially at a team like Arsenal where he could really show off his passing game. He's got such good vision and is technically sound, which are two of the most important attributes for a creative midfielder. If he could just add goals to his game he'd easily be Prem class imo.

Theoretically it'd work, but i'm not sure that Schneiderlin could cope with the defensive pressure. He has improved his defensive game a lot this season, but I still think Hammond would work better in that role. Hammond has much more of a box-to-box quality about him which I think could work better in a defensive midfield position. Hammond I feel is built much more like a defensive midfielder in that he has the physical strength to break up play whereas I still think that Schneiderlin is a bit fragile to be playing in an important position such as that. I'm happy to be proved wrong if Pards wants to use the team that I posted, but for now i'll leave it as it is!
