John B Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 That is a poor, poor result when all around us teams lost. Further to your earlier post I prefer 442 but with the players we have 451 suits us better now I think. Dont understand why AP does not change formations earlier. and why are we getting in defenders when we need midfielders
SO16_Saint Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 fairly happy with an away point tbh.

itchen_dan Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Where's the winning mentality gone that seemed to be there just over a month or so ago??? Another game where we should've picked up 3 points but have sounded absolutely terrible!
sfc6mufc3 Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 My frustration comes from the matches (like tonight) where we take the lead but cannot hold onto it - we nearly ending up drawing v Ipswich and we can't even score in injury time and win (v Millwall). This is still a problem v Brentford x 2/Millwall/Birmingham etc etc.
Plumstead_Saint Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Feels like millwall only worse. Disappointing result... ....because we hit the crossbar, hit the post, missed a sitter, saved a penalty....and still let them take a point. Not the end of the world, though. Asaint4ever Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Angry! we should be winning these games and for jaidi and thomas and harding on the bench wtf!?

Thedelldays Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 could have been worse...probably fair result seeing as we hit the wood work twice...kelvin sounded brilliant...sounded like a great goal from james.. why are we struggling to finish teams of lately..? the league form all round is average IMO....if those who mention are right, pards is under pressure about the league form..which is everything pretty odd to see so many changes with stockport at home for the next game..??? has waigo done wrong..? Saint_clark Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Would've accepted a point before the game. As it is, i'm really p*ssed off now. Still not convinced Barnard and Lambert can play together. They both hold it up. Need Waigo or Connolly up there with one of them.

crouchi Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Disappointing, mainly because we had the chances to go 2-0 but we never got the cushion
Saint_lambden Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 I know some of the players needed a rest but to change 3 of the back 4 in just a few days did us no good. Play-offs look a long way off We should have took our chances at 1-0.
madruss Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Disappointing. Similar pattern to the Millwall game, losing a CM early seemed to affect us. Perhaps would've been different if one of the two chances that hit the woodwork had gone in first half. Playoffs getting harder to reach with every point dropped. Need to hope Huddersfield start dropping points as Swindon are pulling away nicely now

Smirking_Saint Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 This is why i keep saying f*ck the FA Cup off, i expect he has changed due to tiredness, and it has cost us IMO. Shame James got injured, we also really need to get rid of Wotton (unless sitting just in front of back 4 in 4-5-1 through emergency) and sign atleast 1 more midfielder. We need to play spiderman in an attacking role, james and hopefully a new decent DM. Like i said, i am usually optimistic, but we SHOULD be winning these games, Swindon are winning 3-0 against leeds ffs
Yate Saint Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 So annoying. I thought we would draw but I expect much more from the team at the mo. Still, we can build a nice unbeaten run again. COYR
BadgerBadger Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Not bad considering alot of teams falter after cup wins and Brentford only beaten twice all season at home - not ideal but given the overall package thus far in the seasons, jobs a goodun and all moving in the right direction. Now lets talk money (which is inevitable...zzzzzz)

St Marco Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Before the mongs come in and mong all over the thread http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D2/oform.html Based on last 8 games form we are 3rd So none of that "we should be better blah blah" ******** please Obviously Brentford is a hard place to go, lost only 2 games there etc.. But we were lucky not lose this one, Kelvin saved our ass. Soon as James went off we seemed to lose our creativity. We really need to get someone in who can create stuff from the centre of midfield. let's hope we get someone in soon.

eesti matty Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 It's always frustrating when you're leading and then only end up with a draw, but it's not a bad result really. Leeds only drew at Griffin Park and it's a tough ground to go to.
yorkie Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Booooooooooooooooooooo! We should steamroller teams like Brentford. I can see the after match quote - "The playoffs aren't dead...we still need 15 wins". I remember some Dutch idiot saying something similar about our plight to avoid relegation - eventually you run out of games! A point won? I believe from the stats more like a lucky point! More pressure heaped on the team by not delivering...don't we play Norwich soon up there? They won again last night and Leeds lost...Swindon get another 2pt cushion - don't we play them soon too? Play offs a possibility...I doubt it now but you never know!

Now need 14 wins from 20 games. +1 and say what you like we have a lot of new faces who will take a few games to bed in, and without the new faces it couls of been a whole lot worse. Imagine? B Rabbit Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 happy with that, not beaten and a point a way from home I guess you don't want us to go up then? A point away from home against a team that you are beating is not good enough... There is alot left to play for but these results have happened far too often and everytime it happens..our margin of error gets smaller and smaller and it can't really be that big anymore. 1 or 2 more **** ups..i.e not winning..and we are here for next season too. Saint_Jonny Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Sounds like pardew was tacticly outdone in the second half, why didnt he make the changes that were needed earlier? Im not ganna mention the play offs because I never thought we would get there. 10 points closer to relegation anyway.
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Don't understand the team selection if I'm honest. Would have played Thomas at RB and Jaidi at CB instead of Seabourne.

benjii Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Very annoying although a central midfield of Wotton and Schneiderlin is not likely to be good enough in many matches. Also, annoyed with Pardew's picks tonight. Waigo should have got much longer. Nevermind, we all make mistakes. No point squeeling like a spoilt girl. gjphilsaint Posted 26 January, 2010 Share Posted 26 January, 2010 Lesson 1... forget the pompey match..... lesson 2... focus on the game at hand... Lesson 3 1&2 probably applies only to the fans lesson 4 saints going through that murky stage now where the straight forward catch up game has ended, from now on points need to be clawed back from decent teams! Lesson 5 it aint over til its over... we need to put together another decent run... next 2 league games Stockport & Exeter... then it is Norwich!!
