What will be very interesting is to see how close we are when Huddersfield host Colchester in the penultimate match. If we can get it down to 2-3 points before this game and then win away at Gillingham then I would really fancy our chances going into the last match.

It is important to be ahead of Colchester going into the last match as I think they will beat Orient at home. Huddersfield's trip to Exeter will be pretty tricky though and I can see the home team taking at least a point!

cannot see Huddersfield dropping enough points

HUDDERSFIELD: Oldham (H), Brentford (A), Walsall (H), Millwall (H), Stockport (A), Colchester (H), Exeter (A).

Oldham and Walsall are the only games I think they are more than likely to win. Brentford Away is very tricky as we found out. Millwall is going to be tough for them as well. I can see Stockport and Exeter giving them problems at home.

I do think they will win the Colchester match which I fear could seal it for them! One thing is for sure we have to win them all (maybe 1 draw) and there will be some surprises along the way.

Charlton and Bristol Rovers are going to be very tricky games for us.

Exactly what I have got as well, maybe extra point at home to Millwall for them.

Saints v Southend could be pivotal for both clubs.

I sense a Deja vu here..

the last time we needed a win in the last match,to get to the play-offs, was in the CCC..versus an allready relegated Southend.

Lets hope history repeats itself ! (with the exception of the cruel play-off semi) :)

That does put it into perspective, 3-wins & 3-draws for Huddersfield from 7 games would probably do it for them. They would need to slip up somewhere else to keep us in with a shout. As much as I'd like us to, I just not sure we can win all 7 games. It would be a gutter to miss out by a point, all we can do is keep winning & hope the pressure effects them.

Worse case i can see for HTFC is WDWLWDD.

Best Case WWWLDWW.

But we do have the hope they played awfull agaist us and that there squad is small if they get 2 or 3 players out like rhodes and there ****ed.

We should beat Charlton as we've got the beating of them, likewise we've got the beating of Bristol Rovers, the other homes are against poor L1 teams so if we're focussed we'll beat them. It's Yeovil and Gillingham that look decidedly tricky to me. Both of these teams fans will view us a Derby (a bit like the Plymouth yokels) and as such will hype this fixture up and it'll be like a cup final for them. They are both also good home teams used to playing at their compact little grounds with their dodgy pitches.

Huddersfield's home record is good - can't see them slipping up except against Milwall - 9 pts. Stockport are down and out - 3 pts. A loss and a draw from Exeter and Walsall - 1 pt. That give them 78 pts...........

We need to win all remaining games to get to 78 pts..........

BUT our GD will get us 6th place!!

What I predicted is probably the most obvious scenario. But we all football doesn't work like that. There will be some unexpected results. I'm just hoping that all of them results happen to the three above us.

Brentford have been on good form since January and might be able to sneak a win. Exeter and Wallsall are going to be tough games too.

It will be our tendency to drop points against the teams where we should pick up the points away from home that will be our undoing,as it has since christmas.

These predictions never work out, because thats what great about football, if my predictions had worked out we'd still be in the Premiership and the championship. The unknown is form, unfortunately the 2 in 2 from Charlton takes them out the game. All we can do is keep winning and pile on the pressure and what will be will be. A month ago i thought if we got to the play-off we'd win them Now!! Both Millwall and Swindon are looking strong and Leeds know all about big games this season. It wont stop me thinking they cant do it until they cant.

I just cant see saints winning all remaining games AND huddersfield dropping 8 points or so..

sorry...as much as I loved to get the playoffs, it just aint going to happen

boooooooooooooo

It's amazing what nerves can do when you're near the finishing line though.

To be honest, I'm getting less worked up about us getting in the play-offs, even if we somehow were to get in them it is a complete and utter lottery as to who wins them. Teams who get to the play-offs but don't win them often find the start of the following season really tough.

Gillingham may also be playing for survival as well.

Although their fate may have been decided by then of course.

Agreed :(

Me 2 i think if they win 2moro we can forget it, but if they dont we have a great chance, as i am assuming there win 2moro and only see them losing 1 and drawing 2, but should they even draw that would give us the chance to over take them.

So, what we need is for Saints to win every game and Huddersfield and Colchester to all of a sudden start showing relegation form.

Dream on ladies.

Erm, Colchester already are, Huddersfield are dropping points regularly.

Still, I don't think we'll do it, can't see us winning more than 5 games.

Colchester can forget about the playoffs, they'd be bottom of the form table if it weren't for Stockport being utterly useless.

It's between Huddersfield and Brizzle. Our form is better than both of them, if we can beat Bristol away we might have a very slim chance, our run in looks favourable after that.

Huddersfield have to get 11 points to guarantee we can't catch them, in reality, we won't win the next 6... if we do then it will be our longest winning streak in the 125 year history of our football club ( just incase you were thinking about having a flutter )

So... let's say at best, we draw 1 game... in reality Hudds only need 9 points.

It won't happen. Get a grip people. FFS

Updated following the Huddersfield v Oldham result - a result we could have done without of course - but c'est la vie and all that...

Yep. Said the other day that Huddersfield V Oldham might be pivotal. In truth, it is no more important than any other game, but it sends out a signal. They are 11 points away from Saints, with 6 [for them] and 7 games to play. It's do-able, but probably not. I just hope the players have more faith than us lot.

Not sure Huddersfield will get anything at Exeter, they aint bad at home.

Alas I think the job is just a little too much......I hope we dont miss out by 2 or 3 points though, that would be really hard to take.

If we miss out by 10 points or less, it would be really hard to take.
