Green is leaving West HAM.... he is also very much in the minds of Fulham...

Hence W.HAM interest in KD again.. and his interest in them

I think the transfer merry go round will now get into full swing now that our interest in the W.C. has waned.

 

Although I don't think that too many of the England squad made themselves a must have purchase for this time of the year.

Mmm, would be a real pity if KD went now. It would make me wonder whether all the hype about the 5-year plan is starting to unravel a bit at ground level. However, if KD gets a call from the Prem, what would keep him here? Has he settled his family here? His position of Club Captain might hold certain benefits that he would not get elsewhere perhaps? Don't know, but my gut feeling is that KD will be a Saint when the season kicks off.

Makes sense from a West Ham point for view. They are skint and trying to cut costs - Green is prob on £30k a week and they could get KD on a third of that. In addition, they get a better keeper.

He could do, and may well want to. But he has no real money to spend at WHU, and they won't deal in monopoly money like his previous club.

Although James would be a free transfer, signing on fees, wages, and most likely, image rights would be very expensive.

Any number of reasons. But last season had he left he would have done so to become number 2 to Rob Green and therefore have little or no prospect of first team football. If he were to get an offer this time round as first choice keeper at a Prem club it would be very difficult to turn that down this late in his career.

 

 

Anyway, this is all just idle speculation (for now).

Simply because he is Club Captain and a senior member of the football squad, so while there's nothing obvious clearly, my feeling is keeping these types of guys on board is an important factor in the upward push. If the likes of Davis can be tempted away, then perhaps the 5 year plan might be threatened? Seems perfectly reasonably to me.

Lol kd is NOT premier league quality.. He is doing well for us because league 1 is his level.. He has done well for us and been very loyal so can't knock him for that. But he would get found out in the premier league..

KD is bit of a mixed bag as a keeper.

 

His shot stopping and reflexes are brilliant and he's got better at dealing crosses since he's dropped a league, but what gets me is that his distribution is still so poor.

 

He's a brilliant pro, but as a keeper easily replaced IMO

As a shot stopper he is as good as any you listed. None stand out. Goalkeeping is an area where we are week as a nation. There is no No 1 keeper, so if he got a move to the premier league why wound n't he still have a shout?? i was n't a big fan of his when he arrived but he has developed and is as good as any England Keeper at the moment. IMO. Keepers Get better with age so why should n't some one have a punt on him?? Good luck to him I say. I think he would do ok. West Ham were very close to having a punt on him last year, and if anything he is a better keeper this year.

Do you not think that when we changed his mind when we stopped his transfer to WHU last summer when money was being spent there like topsey (compared to at Saints) his palm was sufficiently crossed with silver at the same time.

It refers to a ( not mentioned in the media) merry go round in keepers, mainly London based... which could involve Kelvin Davis... Which in turn could explains Barts position.

 

West Ham, Fulham, QPR, Crystal Palace, Arsenal, and Tottenham are currently VERY ACTIVE in studying their keeper situation.

It's no secret that Robert Green has been very unhappy at West Ham and is seeking a move. ... if you doubt that, PM me and I will explain why I know this.

How many have come on and said he shouldnt go as he is hard to replace? Read any thread on here about him and you get loads of critics. Too many remember a mistake in his first season and have never forgiven him. No disrespect to Bart, who is a good keeper, but he is still not the full monty yet,and he is not immune to injury.

Bart IMO is very shy as a person, and that is a major problem for a keeper.I will never forget his performance at Exeter a season or so ago.I then lost all confidence in him ever being reliable enough to be our first choice.
