GenevaSaint Posted 1 October, 2010 Share Posted 1 October, 2010 Not seen any thread on this, I know Bmuff have sold their 3200, how many have we sold so far? A Bmuff fan at work reckons we'd sold out large sections now, not sure how he knew. 26,000 would be a great attendance in my eyes.

Could be 27,000 tomorrow. if we get to 27k, then I realise thats partly down to 3.2k from Bmuff, but great effort from our lot given the results this season and a chance for the Bmuff lot, and Mr Mitchell, to see what great support looks like... Is it the fact you are playing Bournemouth ...nah you dont give a toss about us. Is it because Adkins has put fire in your belly?....well it hasnt happened yet has it. Is it because its a local derby?....no of course its not a derby.....ours is Weymouth or Dorchester isnt it!! (according to some on this site) Is it because we are second in the league?.....Cant be , if Oldham were second would you pull in 23/24k home support in your position. Is it because you battered Yeovil.....you didnt so it cant be? Joensuu Posted 1 October, 2010 Share Posted 1 October, 2010 Ossie, I assume the increase in attendence is mostly to do with us having performed well against Wednesday, this being our first home game since then and all. I would also guess that many Cherries will be hiding in the wrong end, going with Southampton mates etc. Don't kid yourself, this is not a derby. When you were promoted there was a small cheer at St Mary's. Many of us look out for your results, and are hoping you do well. I'm sure some of your fans will try to start a rivalry, and I'm sure some of our yoof are stupid enough to react. Hope that helps...

trousers Posted 1 October, 2010 Share Posted 1 October, 2010 whats the big crowd for then? It's all very simple, although perhaps a little challenging for some people to grasp... I'll therefore explain it as uncomplicatedly as possible: My cousin is a Bournemouth fan He couldn't get a ticket for the game (because lots more Bournemouth fans than usual wanted to go to an inconsequential away game for some reason...) He phoned me to ask if I was going. I said, no, I hadn't planned on going but could get us a couple of tickets if he fancied it. He said ok. I bought a couple of tickets. The attendance figure went up by two. Now, here comes the complicated bit.... Being born and living near Dorset (as one does) and having friends and family in the area, the chances of me (and no doubt many others) receiving an off the cuff "fancy going to the game?" phone call are much greater for a 'local' game than receiving a similar phone call about the Saints vs Rochdale game (for example) Hope that helps?
