Complacency is the danger from this game. Our recent home form is brilliant though, a win will probably put us in the top 6 (I'd be surprised if it doesn't)

If we play anywhere near our best we should win comfortably

This is Saints.....never too much problem to make it uncomfortable for ourselves !

------------------Davis

Richardson---Fonte-----Jaidi----Dickson

Chamberlain--Hammond---Morgan----Lallana

---------------Guly------Lambert

Bart, Martin, Harding, Puncheon, Chaplow, Barnard, Bignall

I think it is extremely unlikely Seaborne will be dropped, let alone axed completely from the 18 man squad.

Why would Barnard be dropped to the bench after scoring?

we have to win....a couple of points from 2nd and we have a home game against the bottom team..

could not have asked for anything more to FINALLY get into the top 6 at least

They are not bottom, but will be come May!

I think it should be the same team that finished the game today!

Under estimation is something we have been historically good at, and this is a tempting team to under estimate. If we can avoid that we'll be OK. I can understand why Barnard got the starting berth yesterday, but I'm a bit shocked to see that he is preferred by so many after the performances Guly have given us. Maybe we don't really want that kind of artistry? The choice is clear between the two of them, neither is a winger, nor a CM, although they are entirely different.

My mind is pretty much made up when it comes to Puncheon, at least until he shows something different. I think he is slowing down our game as well as nullifies our fullback (see what happens to Harding when JP plays LM), his delivery at set pieces is dubious, there are preciously few assists and no goals. Many posters see something completely different, but I can't understand why.

Dagenham & Redbridge away league results this season:

Sheffield Wednesday L 2-0

Notts County L 1-0

Bournemouth L 3-0

Charlton D 2-2

Colchester D 2-2

MK Dons L 2-0

Rochdale L 3-2

what you mean they haven't won an away game in League 1 ever? surely the jinx of the "haven'ts" will strike us then.

Anyway what we don't want to do(Merrington hasn't copyrighted that phrase has he?) is go behind in the first 10 minutes of the game as we have in the last couple of weeks. It crisps us up and makes us nervy and imprecise.I'm sure that if we hadn't been one down Hammond wouldn't have missed that sitter yesterday. The players know that we need to win most of our games now and not lose

any at all and going behind doesn't help.Luckily we got the penalty yesterday(not that it was lucky or anything) but if the defender hadn't made that stupid tackle we might not have won if you catch my drift.A draw would have been an acceptable result yesterday so getting even changed everything.

I agree, we don't want to go behind. On the other hand D & G will play a very cagey game and we need to be patient and draw them out, then score. Sometimes we try too hard and become frustrated if we don't score in the first 10. In some ways this plays into the oppositions hands as all they have to do is concentrate on defending and spoiling tactics. Rattle our players, put them off their stride allow the red mist to develop and bring us down to their level.

In the 80's liverpool developed the art of the patience game, once they got the first goal, the opposition had to come out a bit more and the demolition began.

Despite two successive wins I hope to see Puncheon and Seaborne dropped. Admittedly I havnt seen the last three games but listening to the commentary these two are not performing. I like Puncheon but I think he needs a break because I suspect his trouble is that he's trying too hard. He's a good player on form but hasn't found that form all season.

Seaborne on the other hand is one of those players who at his best will be good in this League BUT he is not capable of recreating that form for 10,15 games. He will for 3/4 then have 2/3/4 mediocre games.

Adkins has talked about the consistancy of performance from the team. We cannot afford to carry someone like Seaborne. I think Martin is far better and will be very good but on Tuesday I hope Jaidi plays and then again against the Shrews alongside Martin. This would give Fonte a game off before the three tough games at Carlisle and at home to PBoro and Brighton. This way all four CBs would have had some game time. I would also play Bart v Shrews.

My team on Tuesday would be:

Davis

FR. Jaidi. Fonte. Harding

Lallana. Hamm. Chap. Holmes

Barnard. Lambert

subs: Bart. Dickson. Martin. Morgan. Guly. Oxo. Punch

Sorry, but you cannot make such a massive claim based on commentary. Commentary paints a totally different picture than being there.

Seabourne has been one of our better players since Adkins came in, but many people still want him out. I don't get it, he really isn't that bad.

I can because I said it was. Against Bournemouth and tranmere he was good but my opinion of him is based on what I also saw last season. I gave reasons for my opinion, all you've done is shout it down.

Give me reasons to prove that he can produce his best form over a sustained period 10-15+ games and also;

prove to me that when he is constantly pressed and under pressure during a game that he actually has the ability and speed of thought to not get caught in possesion as often as I think he does and that he does this better than the other 3 CBs.

In fairness you have to say how often you think he does.

I've only seen our home matches this season but JP has been consistenty average. Not woeful and not match winning. He would worry me if her was in the opposition because he always looks like he will make something happen, it's just that too often it doesn't. I would keep on playing him as he provides a threat and having Chamberlain on the bench gives us something different to bring on.

Disagree with you on Seabourne. He's well above average for a CB in this league and hasn't, in the last 5 - 6 games, made any mistakes that have threatened the team. He's not Prem stanndard, but that's not a problem and he's young and will improve. Martin looks decent and will play more matches this season, but IMO he's not better that Seabourne at this stage.

The FA cup match will be a good time to make changes to the team giving a chance to the likes of Martin, Holmes and Bart.

not going to be the goal fest some are predicting imo, thinking tricky 2-1 home win, maybe even a random draw, also ...i still rate puncheon, despite the tide seeming to turn against him... although oxo should be given a bit more of a chance then just an impact sub ...(but that seemed to work well for antonio last season?! so maybe not)..
