We will walk this league.

Preperations for the championship are moving at a pace.

Devils advocate and all.

seriously, why do you bother, the club seem to let you down every week....just with nigel adkins being manager fills you with such disapointment..

If you look at Nguessun and Forte, they both add pace and power to this team.

Wouldn't you all agree that is something we lacked in the wide areas?

This window has been great (so far). Chaplow, Guly, Lallana long term deal, OxO Staying so far, Nugessun and now Forte.

I don't get the negativity, for weeks we have been on here moaning that we need more wide players. We sign two, and nobody is happy.

totally agree...it was all "we need at least one wide player and an attacker with pace if we are to go up"

we get exactly that, keep our prize kid, sign up two loan players who have been great and sign up a proper talent and arguably the best player in the league on an extended contract...and people still are "underwhelmed"

I am gobsmacked really

Like the honestly with which NA explained the logic of the deal.

Says that he knows that Jonno can be inconsistent but that he is a physical athlete who he thinks will benefit from being in the great environment we have at the club - coaching/medical/sports science.

Looks like NA has thought it through and knows he's not getting the finished article.

It reminded me of the logic behind the Kenwyne Jones signing.

At first I was a bit underwhelmed as he is not in the calibre I thought we needed(McK-Smith who was brilliant against us), however when I read this...its sounds like we have another Kenwynne who couldnt trap a bag of cement when I first watched him. He has progressed into a good player so perhaps we can do the same with Forte?

I have been saying all season we needed someone with pace to turn the opposing defence around facing their own goal.

He's lightning quick. When I talk about quick players I always say, 'Is he Jonno quick?' We've found that he's got pace, power, and he's got stronger and stronger.

"He's had a bit part to play, but he can play on the left or right wing or as a centre forward. He's got unbelievable pace and strength, he gets that ball and he runs with it in behind and he's scores goals. In training at times, some of the stuff that he does - he's unplayable.

"He's experienced in the Championship now. He's had a good couple of years and is a player who is getting better and better, and still only young.

"He's always going to be a goal threat because of his pace. He's willing, he's got a great attitude, and I think he'll fit in excellently to the culture that we have at this football club. He's got a good physical presence about himself and we're delighted that he can come and join us.

"We're looking at the culture here and I know what his capabilities are, and I know at times that he can be a little inconsistent as all young players can be, but I just believe that bringing him into the environment that we've got down here he can only get better and better. Good facilities, excellent coaching and great medical with sports science support and I think we've got a physical athlete here who has got undoubted natural ability and is going to be a goal threat, and I think he's going to enhance the group of players that we've got at this football club."

Not really flawless logic there. You could say Arsenal need a keeper and I'm sure they wouldn't be happy with signing Tommy Forecast and Kevin Poole.

Quite agree but some would still moan if we had signed Torres ! "Always injured, looks miserable" etc etc
