Pope Francis died yesterday, hours after meeting JD Vance. Everything the Trump administration touches turns to crap, it seems.

Charles might want to rethink that state visit. 🤔

There’s loads of these sort of stories circulating, a British woman got chained up in detention for a visa mix-up. Literally chained up.

MAGA has totally lost it. Any European going there at the moment for work let alone leisure over the next 3 years is taking a big risk. 

Personally, I think global institutions like UN should move temporarily to Paris and Sydney for the next few years until their electorate sort themselves out and the Republican Party is de-registered and replaced by a new centre-right free market democratic party along the lines of the Lincoln Project. If the economic chaos continues, many of their billionaires might throw their weight behind it. 

Democrats need to sort themselves out too - AWOL through all of this crazy shit.

My mum in all her wisdom about 10 years ago did similar and they sent her back the day after arriving. Nothing new here, well maybe apart from out of date food!

There is some truth to this, I recall sitting next to a London theatre director on a flight to JFK in 2005 who was also due there to direct a Broadway show in the immediate aftermath of 9/11. Got in but said that everyone non-US was stripped searched right down to their underpants regardless.

I dunno, I know several people who have done road trips across the US without booking up the entirety of their stay.  My parents have done it quite a few times and on one occasion didn't even have their first night booked anywhere when they landed.

Yeah I've been a few times doing similar and had only one bad experience with US immigration coming in from Canada, they kept us for about 6-7 hours as they had questions about why we were using Australian passports and British passports, and why we were driving through the US from Canada and then back into Canada. Bloke had a big ego and was probably bored so that probably caused most of it. Just saying it isn't the first time US immigration have been heavy-handed on the simplest of things, I'm sure there is more to this Hawaii story as well.

I was flying solo to New York in 2022 via a connecting flight in Lisbon (we were doing a road trip). The little Portuguese twat in the departure lounge wasn't going to let me on the flight unless I could show him proof that I had a return flight booked. Luckily I managed to find the confirmation email which I'd saved, even though I hadn't booked the flight myself. Nothing to do with Trump.
