Yes but Panorama has been dodgy for the last 30 years. Always been edited to be sensationalist. It’s one programme.

It's their flagship news show. With someone like the BBC you just can't be doing shit like that. I'm sure it was a mistake but it's one mistake on top of loads of others recently. They really don't help themselves. I used to love the bbc and it has a very difficult job but it has really gone downhill. It should concentrate on what it can do differently and what sets it apart from others. That's certain types of drama that is important to the UK, news as impartially as it can and maybe some of the Attenborough type stuff if others don't do it. Also local radio is great and parts of it's online offering. Everything else it shouldn't get involved in.

Yes, they doctored a speech and they should not have done. It didn’t alter the intention of what he was saying though and that, surely, should be the bigger issue here? Yet again he manages to turn a negative into a positive for himself and some people are happy to let him get away with it.

Do you really think that doctoring speeches of presidential candidates shortly before an election is a good look?

Absolutely zero chance he files a court claim unless the people advising him on this are as bent as he is.

Just caught the tail end of BBC news where some reporter was talking about this, she gave her personal opinion on Tim Davie and the BBC Chairman. It’s the news FFS, you report the news, it’s not a vehicle to give your opinion.

I'm pretty sure the main issues weren't that they were being too friendly to the right in politics. It has rather a lot more to do with the left leaning bias at the bbc.

Whether they did it to Trump or the new NYC Mayor it was a stupid and needless error. Saints fans know what those look like…

As @CB Fry says, Trump whipped up that mob of nutcases to storm and insurrect with maximum violence. No need for cut and shut footage, it’s as plain and obvious as MLT’s conk.

They’re also so far up their collective arses, they’ve got “experts in disinformation & fact checking”. Verify, load of old fucking pony.

I see Dimbleby was on C4 claiming it was the “far right”, stirring this up. Hopefully Nigel will decriminalise non payment, and then he’ll see how popular it really is…

They wouldn’t need those if politicians of all stripes didn’t have Pinocchio tendencies. They all do it but the key difference is that Trump spouts crap out of his mouth every two seconds/on Truth Social that has no relationship with reality let alone the truth.

Our politicians aren’t much cop but at least they won’t deny election defeats, nor overturn democracies in a violent temper tantrum with thousands of their fellow thugs armed to the teeth. Dimbelby is an old fart but even he has an unarguable point rationally about the events of 6 January 2021.
