I’d love her to fuck me with a strap-on.

Sorry what are we doing?

Keeper saving a shot to give corner when 3 yards wide of the goal

Was a brilliant save actually, she wouldn’t have known that, did well to push it wide

Anyone know how many arrests have been made at tournament so far?

Heard Sue Whistle is out there leading the England mob who took it to Sweden earlier today, pelted them with apples from her garden and cider bottles, Sweden birds on their toes and hiding behind old bill

Our keeper seems like an absolute liability. Just doesn’t seem to have any sort of awareness of where she is.

Am I right in saying she pushed Mary earps down to no 2 so she decided to retire?. Crazy if true.

Has an eye condition which impacts depth perception according to commentator. Doesn’t sound ideal for a keeper

Earps was a much bigger advantage for England than people realise. Head and shoulders above anyone else in the women's game. All our options now are all falling into the similar trap as most nations keepers, being far too small to be effective. She's got good reflexes and is quick out when the ball is on the ground, but she needs to be told to stay on her line when crosses come in to a busy box.

She’s going to be the hero by saving key pen

Comfortably the worst set of penalties I have ever seen at any level of football.

The BBC live ticker seems to think so too.

Personally I thought it was brilliant entertainment. More of that please!

Serious question - are women's penalty shootout always so crap because they have less power to strike a dead ball? Or was that just particularly terrible?

Having never watched one before, I couldn't say for certain. But despite the number of poor ones, there were some good ones as well. Kelly and Bronze for England both took theirs really well, and the Sweden one that was right in the top corner and hit the camera would have beaten most male keepers.

Russo's first pen into the side netting was our best one.

I've seen shootouts on the women's game where one miss at the end has made the difference. Our first had power and accuracy. But Falk still went the right way. Others went for accuracy and Falk was too good for that, making saves and forcing errors.  Hampton made her saves too, but Sweden should have finished it off. Why Falk took a kick was a mystery.

Great game though. England gifting Sweden an early opener, and nearly a second. Sweden nullifying Walsh, and forcing England into longer, riskier passes. One of those lost by Hemp, who had hit the bar, and with no cover, Sweden burst forward for a second. They've been excellent on those counters all tournament.

It didn't look as though England were coming back. But the subs show the strength, not just of depth, but in style. Carter had been run a bit ragged, but Morgan offered fresh legs. Agyemang's first touch was sometimes lacking. But her presence, strength and running made a huge difference, as did Kelly coming on for Hemp, who had worked so hard as England's best outlook.

Wiegman kept Hemp on the side opposite Bronze this time, which was a lesson from an earlier game, and that pushed Sweden back.

England have fought for results before. That fitness and interchanging attack got them to penalties. Bronze's header to get back into the game and showing that power gets it past the keeper in penalties, topped a proud performance.

Not top level ones it wouldn’t. It was a good penalty in the context of the game against a female keeper but I reckon 8 out 10 times a decent male keeper saves it.

Instead of just having a go at women footballers, perhaps just enjoy the fact that they came back from dead at 2-0 down and won the game?

Read the thread dickhead

And apart from anything else if you can’t see that was one of the worst penalty shootouts ever then you’re obviously just trying to be politically correct it was awful. Game was alright though

Funny isn’t it. No one commenting during the game, ignoring the few in match posts from some of us. Now people coming on here to have a pop at people saying the penalties were awful  😂😂😂😂

proof that people are more interested in appearing right on than actually showing any interest in the game

Finding myself agreeing with Turkish on this. Game was pretty good although the extra time really tailed off in terms of quality and energy. The penalty shootout was (mostly) embarrassing though. Several of the England attempts were too predictable and frankly not good enough. Some of the Swedish penalties were top class . But at least two of them, including the goalie jus lost their cool.

From the first pen, you could see what Falk was going to do. The players are told that whatever you do, make the keeper work for it. Get it towards a corner. But with placement and not the power, it made it easier for Falk. Russo's best, as you'd expect. James' was nonchalant, which was wasted considering what Falk was doing. Bronze got the power, and that made the difference.

Sweden, like you said, just lost their cool. Although credit to Hampton for pushing them into that pressure.
