t (some of the sequences leading to goals were a very enjoyable watch) but the season was tempered with frustrating periods of nothingness in games (the backwards, sideways, backwards cycle of the ball)

When the fuck did the world decide to start talking about football as if they're a management consultant?? "sequences" so you mean attacks, "cycle of the ball" so you mean passing?

It's this sort of god awful nerd speak that's let idiots. like Ramus and Martin to get a foothold in the game

Alright mate, calm down. I don’t like the speak either but I used that terminology just off the cuff.

Well as you guys know my beloved Leicester are struggling & there is all kinds of chatter about Marti Cifuentes getting fired.

I now see all kinds of articles connecting Russel Martin with the job. I've supported Leicester since 1960 but this will severely test my loyalty !!!

I have nothing against Leicester now Vardy isn't there so I hope for your sake you dont have to face the RM Bullshit rodeo !

Agreed. Please add 'double pivot' and 'low block' to the list please 👍🏻

Trust me, I’m in agreement with you! I avoid all tactico YouTube berks as best I can.

’Transitions’ ‘Game management’ etc

How many light years was Pardew, Adkins, Strachan, Lawrie, Nicholl, both Joneses, Hughes, Koeman, Pochettino, Puel, Ralph, goodness knows even Pellegrino ahead of Martin let alone Tonda ‘Kinda Surprise’ Eckhert?

Martin is fucking useless so what does that say about the latest kiddie?

Don’t forget they never wanted to sack him. This is clear pivot back towards that style of play. Although in true SR fashion, it’s worse.

I can't believe you are being serious.

Its just a back up last resort as we don't appear to be able to play proper football for 90 mins. To me we are sliding back into directionless possession football. What's happened to the Charlton plus few games real football? Is Tonda confirming we are a one man team and he has to take Scienza off early to save him for next game. We then have little option for scoring. Then he takes more creative players off and its RM football

It just shows how bad football coaching badges are, we don't have RM but look at the football we play with a £70m squad. We keep getting managers with same tactics. Its a paradox the more new managers we have had the more possession nonsense we end up playing.

The only thing I can think of is its a club decision from above to play this way. Its the only logical assumption to make. We are scaring off good quality managers with this obsession of trying to be the new Manchester City. Sport Republic have ruined us. Even their name is absolutely fuckin ridiculous.

I haven’t banged the Russell Martin drums once since he was sacked funnily enough. 😂

He was shit, but he was still ahead of Tonda.

What does that tell you.

Whenever we lose the RM drum gets banged more than our Lucy. His shit philosophy football was the catalyst for the mire we’re in now. That and Solak falling for Ankersen’s bullshit after getting lucky with Thomas Frank at Brentford.. A feat has hasn’t managed to repeat since and I doubt ever will.

That’s what it tells me.

No he hasn't. As Alfie House recently confirmed, that f*cker is still Dragan's right hand man and his football "consultant".

Edit: I assume you're referring to Rasmus W. Ankersen. If not, apologies and carry on.

To be fair today was a cup game against bottom of the Scottish Championship.

They could well win the league now though. Only three points off it now as you say, and Hearts have lost Shankland, their main goalscorer, for two months. Rangers are probably just about favourites, which considering the absolute catastrophe that Rohl inherited from Rusty, is an amazing achievement and entirely down to much, much better management of the same group of players.

Just another "what would have been"... right?

Jesse Marsch has made Canada a contender... Rohl revived Rangers... We are always just around the corner from getting it right.

The players Russ brought in that hadn't had a chance to gel yet before he was hounded out by the baying mob.

If you end up with 'baying mobs' at more then one club, the clubs are not the problem.

If you're not ready to clap along while watching 11 goals given away as a direct result of trying and failing to play out from the back, then you're an idiot who doesn't understand football.

And don't forget 'It's not tactical, it's mentality', delivered with that trademark condescending sneer. Especially after you've started a Premier League game with five centre forwards on the bench and none starting on the pitch (Bournemouth away - lost), or played a radical U-shape formation with literally no-one playing as a central forward and Ben Brereton Diaz as a tricky, flying wide man with chalk on his boots (Forest at home - lost).

It's never your tactics though is it Russ, oh dear me no.

If only his pay was linked to performance, I don’t think he would have been such an arse.

He healed the scar tissue

he cured their anxiety

he made them believe

his thanks were moaning fans and the sack just like with us. If only people were more grateful and not so entitled they would have seen it click

He’d have been so proud of them. The way they were brave, so much love for the team.
