I find that hard to believe, but if it’s true then it’s little wonder that a stadium expansion is being talked about! 😉 If we've sold 31,500 season tickets, where are the away fans going?

Lighthouse Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago For all the tantrums and the, "no way I’ll be renewing new season!" After every inevitable defeat, the uptake was always likely to be high. Attendances have been trending higher for years and we now seem to sell out almost routinely, even in spite of appalling results in two of our last three seasons. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Blackburn was the only away league game which didn’t sell out this season. 1

Indulge in a sophisticated twist on a classic favourite with our Rollover Vegetarian Hot Dog — a culinary masterpiece that elevates plant-based dining to new heights. Nestled in a perfectly toasted, artisanal bun, this hot dog features a marinated, grilled plant-based sausage crafted from a blend of savoury vegetables and savoury spices, delivering a rich and smoky flavour akin to traditional white meats but entirely cruelty-free. Can be topped with a vibrant array of gourmet accoutrements — think house-made sauerkraut with a hint of apple cider, dollops of gently spiced aioli infused with smoked paprika, and a drizzle of tangy Dijon mustard — every bite offers a harmonious balance of textures and bold flavours. Garnished with fresh microgreens and a sprinkle of charred shallots, this dish transforms a humble street food into an elegant, plant-forward feast. Perfect for those seeking a gourmet, satisfying, and eco-friendly indulgence, the Rollover Vegetarian Hot Dog promises a delightful journey through flavour, craftsmanship, and culinary innovation. In reality, it's a cold, grey-brown, rubbery lump of something unpleasant in a stale bun ... in keeping with the entertainment served up on the pitch. 2

So although some developments have faltered - due to lack of private investment I believe - they have delivered when the partnership investment is there. That’s the key. Councils have very little margin for discretionary spending these days, and their legal obligations to meet SEND and adult social care requirements (inter alia) are putting many councils, of all political colours, into danger of bankruptcy. But we can all agree that Southampton hasn't made best use of its assets, whether that's due to the council or ABP or developers wanting everything handed to them on a plate. The problem with the rail link is that to get to Central you'd have to do a back shunt from near the maintenance works on what is a busy stretch of line. But going straight out heading North would be easy enough, and take a very large proportion of the traffic. Particularly useful for away fans but not so good for business in town. Might be the sort of development if St Mary's were ever chosen again for an international tournament. The ticket sales seem to have held up remarkably in the circumstances, so there does seem to be a healthy underlying demand for tickets which must be the basis for any stadium expansion. Plus a few more tourists in Rento Takaoaka shirts will help the bottom line! It will be interesting to compare the crowd figures with our neighbours down the road..

Is there a danger that an foreign increase in the rento Takaoaka market will result in locals being priced out of the buyo Takaoaka market, destabilising the other redevelopment plans?

We took around 3,000 there a couple of years back but they'll give you the entire end if you want it - something like 7,000. Edit: I think the most we've taken up there is 5,000 a few years ago now.
