I find that hard to believe, but if it’s true then it’s little wonder that a stadium expansion is being talked about! 😉 If we've sold 31,500 season tickets, where are the away fans going? 1

Indulge in a sophisticated twist on a classic favourite with our Rollover Vegetarian Hot Dog — a culinary masterpiece that elevates plant-based dining to new heights. Nestled in a perfectly toasted, artisanal bun, this hot dog features a marinated, grilled plant-based sausage crafted from a blend of savoury vegetables and savoury spices, delivering a rich and smoky flavour akin to traditional white meats but entirely cruelty-free. Can be topped with a vibrant array of gourmet accoutrements — think house-made sauerkraut with a hint of apple cider, dollops of gently spiced aioli infused with smoked paprika, and a drizzle of tangy Dijon mustard — every bite offers a harmonious balance of textures and bold flavours. Garnished with fresh microgreens and a sprinkle of charred shallots, this dish transforms a humble street food into an elegant, plant-forward feast. Perfect for those seeking a gourmet, satisfying, and eco-friendly indulgence, the Rollover Vegetarian Hot Dog promises a delightful journey through flavour, craftsmanship, and culinary innovation. In reality, it's a cold, grey-brown, rubbery lump of something unpleasant in a stale bun ... in keeping with the entertainment served up on the pitch. 4

So although some developments have faltered - due to lack of private investment I believe - they have delivered when the partnership investment is there. That’s the key. Councils have very little margin for discretionary spending these days, and their legal obligations to meet SEND and adult social care requirements (inter alia) are putting many councils, of all political colours, into danger of bankruptcy. But we can all agree that Southampton hasn't made best use of its assets, whether that's due to the council or ABP or developers wanting everything handed to them on a plate. The problem with the rail link is that to get to Central you'd have to do a back shunt from near the maintenance works on what is a busy stretch of line. But going straight out heading North would be easy enough, and take a very large proportion of the traffic. Particularly useful for away fans but not so good for business in town. Might be the sort of development if St Mary's were ever chosen again for an international tournament. The ticket sales seem to have held up remarkably in the circumstances, so there does seem to be a healthy underlying demand for tickets which must be the basis for any stadium expansion. Plus a few more tourists in Rento Takaoaka shirts will help the bottom line! It will be interesting to compare the crowd figures with our neighbours down the road.. 1

Pamplemousse Posted July 31 Posted July 31 Brighton are expanding their stadium so we need to keep up to make sure we still have the largest ground in the region...
SaintNewForest Posted July 31 Posted July 31 Forgive me for being cynical, but I don't believe for one minute we've sold out after last season at the same number of available season tickets. They've either lowered the available ST threshold, or they've just decided to cut off sales now and dress it up as "sold out" to give themselves a pat on the back. Club don't care whether a seat is a season ticket or match ticket, so makes no difference to them. 1

Pamplemousse Posted August 2 Posted August 2 Anyone who went today, what were the new food/drink items like? And what was the cost? I saw a photo on Twitter, can't say I'm a fan of the new screens, they look a bit bulky and in the way.

Feels like a missed opportunity to make a real impactful banner to reveal every game rather than something that's so cringey. All the best tifo banners use symbolic imagery not cheesy slogans like "Pride of the South" or "We March On" that sound like they've been thought up in a corporate setting. Generic. Terrible font. No impact. Forgettable. FFS! Well done to the club for getting a new Tifo designed. Much better effort. 2

Think it was £14 for the chicken burger, lattice fries and a drink which isn’t cheap but I have been robbed for worse in other establishments.
Badger Posted Sunday at 17:01 Posted Sunday at 17:01 Wrexham forum commented that little response from Saints fans either side of the away section. Perhaps to be expected, aren’t they next to the Family Stand etc in that corner ? Not on that side of the ground myself but interested to hear comments from anyone who is. How does this bode for the skates match ?

How does this bode for the skates match ? We've moved over to the chapel this season and to be honest with you all my group are sat on our hands a little bit because we don't want it to get stopped before we have our game against the skates. Saying that it's really interesting now being that side of the ground because you realise how little you can actually hear the Northam end. If I hadn't seen the posts on here about it being a "great" atmosphere i'd have thought the Northam was silent all game because you basically don't hear them from where the away fans are. Which means the skates are going to go on about St Mary's being a library and calling us quiet. The chapel itself i thought was decent, a far few standing at the back, a complete lack of soccer am "banter" and none of the noddy shit sung in the Northam. It's so much better than the Northam creche and hopefully that little section will grow with time as more move over

Pleasantly surprised at the lack of action from stewards in trying to sit us down. 1

Agree that the back of the chapel was decent, felt like the early days of the Itchen North, i just hope it doesn't become flooded by nippers on cheap gear wanting to gesture at the away fans, think it'll take some time to catch on too which isn't necessarily a bad thing. In terms of the Wrexham fans i definitely thought they were load but their songbook was pretty damn generic, like so many others it was the standard songs nicked from liverpool, songs about libraries and a weird version of the song we used to sing about ricky lambert that didn't seem to scan properly. Thought they were at their most impressive when they sung land of my fathers to be honest, that was really damn loud 2

Saint Fan CaM Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) I sat for the first time for years in the central Chapel on Saturday. The away supporters was very good and until our equaliser I was surprised at how quiet the Northam crowd were by comparison…I really expected there to be much more noise. Quite disappointing really. This idea of a games area is a bit meh. I had a look at the underside of the Chapel roof on Saturday and was surprised to see the paintwork in a really poor state of repair in places.
