Pretty damning that his biggest achievement at Saints was buying a player off us we are desperately trying to sell

Well, it was a pretty damning spell in charge 😄

Never seen a more one footed highlights reel... but then its also a pretty tasty highlights real - thats a sweet right foot!

Certainly ranks highly on the De Ridder scale.

And don’t see him coming to us.

Alan Nixon reckons us and Birmingham are in for Lewis O'Brien from Forest.  26 year old tough tacking midfielder apparently.  Don't know anything about him but would seem strange given we've got Downes and Charles.

Can only assume 1 of them will be out the door.  This guy looks better than both of them.

Why not have all three of them and be rid of Smallbone and Aribo?

Aribo is going 100%, one year left, high earner and wants out. Will go to Galatasaray, Beskitas or Rangers if he’s willing to drop some wages even post-relegation cut. Smallbone probably a nominal fee or loan out, but depends on Still’s formation. If he uses three in the middle keep as a squad option. Also only a year left.

Yes, Smallbone is a much better squad option in the Championship than he was in the Premier League. But no more than as cover please.

As for Aribo, hell yeah, he could barely move in RM's walking football, if Still favours high press he'd be blowing out his arse after 15 mins.

To be fair, Ryan Giggs only ever used one foot and he was fairly useful (on the pitch anyway!)

How can a 1.73 tall tough midfielder be possible? :) I hope they stop bringing in short guys who are against modern football.

Why can't he be tough tackling and short?

N'Golo Kanté is 1.68m, can he not be tough at tackling?

Liverpool, the club who would never grotesquely spend on players, have smashed the British record with the capture of Wirtz

Apparently want to spend the same again on Isak.

Possibly not a bad idea. If wages are covered, Saints receive a loan fee and then have him back to play if we get promoted. One of the very few players we have that will be good enough to play for us after another promotion!

Neden sert vuruşlu ve kısa olamıyor?

N'Golo Kanté 1.68 boyunda, mücadelede çok sert olamaz mı?

Kante is a rare example, the team should be good not only on the ground but also in the air. You don't have a budget like Chelsea, you shouldn't take risks by buying short players, the risk of losing from tall players is low.

If Ramsdale supposedly loves the club then why can't he just stay for one season in the Championship. If he stays and we top the table then I doubt it will harm his England chances.

He’s already lost his place in the squad in a World Cup year , he’s got no chance of overtaking Trafford or Henderson if he’s in the Championship, if he goes to a Premier League side and starts playing well, he’s got every chance of going.

At the very least I don't see signing for Galatasaray particularly helping his chances. The league is weaker than the Championship and they will just get dumped out in the group stage anyway.

If we have no need to sell then I'd like to see us play hard ball with a couple of the players it might be worthwhile keeping. Keeping a Ramsdale or Fernandes or even a Downes or THB would be big in the championship with a reasonable to excellent chance that we won't need to replace them if we do win promotion. I get we will inevitably sell some but imagine if we just said to Fernandes that he's simply not leaving this summer and can go with our blessing next year if we don't go up.

If i honest I'd rather we just sell him for good money if he doesn't want to play in the champ for a season.

Yep reinvest the money into the promotion push. Going out on loan won't really help that.

It smooths recruitment after promotion as Ramsdale is one of the tiny number of players we have who wouldn't need an upgrade to be good enough for the PL.

McCarthy and Bazunu got us promoted last time, plus they good still sign another keeper to be first choice for the season and pushes McCarthy out in Sumner 2026.

Plus, we'd get a loan fee which can go into the kitty for this season.

I'd rather the money this season. Thanks. Could be the difference between going up or not, and if not puts all this to waste.

We have been linked with O'Brien quite a few times previously - for sure when he left Hudds for Forest and then I think again before one of his loan moves.

A loan fee for a player like Ramsdale would be substantial (into millions), that can that be added to the transfer kitty for this season. Plus we've already had one promotion with McCarthy and Bazunu from this league. If Ramsdale goes they'd sign another keeper, someone who might even be 1st choice and when Ramsdale returns next summer McCarthy might go.

Clubs in Turkey don't pay substantial transfer fees let alone substantial loan fees.

The rest of the league don't, but Galatasaray do.

How do you think they've had players like Victor Osimhen last season? It isn't by paying peanuts.

Nor are Leroy Sane, Davidson Sanchez, Álvaro Morata and Mauro Icardi cheap.

It could be a good deal, IF we go straight back up. But the fact that we had Baz and Macca as GK's last time around, does not mean that it will work this time. If we do not get in a better GK (than those two) this season, I belive we will make the chance of promotion a lot harder for ourselves. We must prioritize this season, before looking ahead to the one after... and a new GK (if Ramsdale leaves) is one of the most important signings to get right this season IMO.

After last season and many years of failure in recruiting a decent striker, please make this a statement signing, and not a young and inexperienced up and comer.

Of the names linked you suspect this might be the way it goes.

The other key avoid for me is an average striker from the Belgian league.

Judging by what Alfie House said after that in Quarshie discussion then it sounds like Damion Downs.

Basically said Quarshie is big, strong quick and the striker target is too.

I think the original source linking us with him is a good one too seemingly he is the one we want.

What sort of fee is being predicted for Downs? He looks like one.for the future , young with potential but a gamble to rely on him

One plus would be resurrecting the yaya/ kolo toure song for Flynn / Damion
