It's not all about the finances, it's about squad size. Aribo and Edozie need to move on before we bring in anyone else. I've heard club frustrated with speed some of the deals are moving at, one of those things, not sure on Aribo but particularly Edozie seems to be changing each day. At least we got the Sulemana and Onuacho business done early and know where we stand with Ramsdale heading to Newcastle so not all bad 1

Made a useless decision last summer to decline Rangers and go to Anderlecht where he didn’t make much of an impression, and the faffing about this summer has probably cost him what would have been a very good move to Strasbourg. Aribo and his agent need a clear deadline to get a move completed by or he’s in the u23s for the season. 1

If kept then we won't be bringing in the players we want to.

Saint86 Posted Saturday at 12:53 Posted Saturday at 12:53 Watching the west brom vs wrexham game. In fairness to Fellows, he's got enough about him that he'd step up if put in a better side. Could be a decent option for us if the price is reasonable. 4

If no team he wants more than Saints moves for him then he's ours, but otherwise i feel like we're being strung along. If anything, maybe we need to issue an ultimately and move onto other targets. The reality is he's far too good for our level. I never even considered we could get someone like him in the champ - and that alone makes me suspicious. It may be that we're being used as bait for bigger fish, and it maybe that if they don't come in for him that we'll land him - but equally he could just settle for a bumper new contract... Fingers crossed we get him at any rate. Edited Saturday at 15:14 by Saint86 5

Well if for some reason he wasn't with his team watching Sunderland make them look like relegation candidates and he was in Southampton negotiating for Fernandez then his team just made his job all the more difficult today with that performance. West Ham will be even more desperate to make signings before the transfer window shuts so if they want Matty pay up or shut up!

Nothing of note from him then. Trouble is, you can cynically put your own interpretation on it. If he plays well, then he’s clearly playing for a move, but if he’s crap and going through the motions, then he’s already gone (“his head is at St Mary’s”). Alternatively, the third and most likely possibility, he just had an average or poor game. 2

Given the way Still wants us to attack at speed he could be a better option off the bench than some. Does he attack at speed though ? He was capable of it a couple of seasons ago, although very often he wanted to do the nifty footwork, step overs, and soft shoe shuffle , ie just mincing around. But he seemed capable of more, although end products and shots weren’t great despite a few goals. Agree that his season and form dived after Norwich, and for whatever reason, Martin didn’t seem to trust him afterwards. 1

With the press reporting what we’re asking for our two key players, I’d be surprised if WBA won’t be seeking £10-12m.
