Is Dibling really an out-and-out winger? I've always seen him as more of a no.10 type player, i.e. an attacking midfielder/ playmaker.

Still specifically mentioned him when refering to wingers, so must see him as that.

I thought Dibling came through as a AM player but Russell Martin stuck him out wide to fit him in the team?

Yep, that matches my understanding. Interesting that Still sees him as an out-and-out winger in that case, but I'm sure he knows more about football management than I do... 🙂

It's very simple, and been saying it for a while, nothing will happen until we shed some players. It's not all about the finances, it's about squad size. Aribo and Edozie need to move on before we bring in anyone else.

I've heard club frustrated with speed some of the deals are moving at, one of those things, not sure on Aribo but particularly Edozie seems to be changing each day.

At least we got the Sulemana and Onuacho business done early and know where we stand with Ramsdale heading to Newcastle so not all bad

Tbf we've seen him play in the middle and on the right and to me he looked a lot more effective out wide.

Edozie needs to bin his agent off. Made a useless decision last summer to decline Rangers and go to Anderlecht where he didn’t make much of an impression, and the faffing about this summer has probably cost him what would have been a very good move to Strasbourg.

Aribo and his agent need a clear deadline to get a move completed by or he’s in the u23s for the season.

He won't be in the U23's, he'll be loaned out or kept. If kept then we won't be bringing in the players we want to.

Don’t know if it is significant but Coventry are playing this lunchtime and Jack Rudoni is not in the squad

They play Sochi tomorrow but yeah, would imagine he’d want some kind of goodbye if he’s leaving

Watching the west brom vs wrexham game.

In fairness to Fellows, he's got enough about him that he'd step up if put in a better side. Could be a decent option for us if the price is reasonable.

It wouldn’t be the worst outcome if Edozie stayed, I’m more concerned that Dibbling and Fernandes are dragging, I’d like one or both of those concluded before it’s too close to the end of the window to replace.

Agreed. If they're going anyway then I'd want it done now ideally.

Guessing this is the Manneh referred to above. A couple of decent glimpses but looks very raw and not sure he’d get away with a lot of those touches in the Champ.

No thanks based on that.

Looks like we are finally being linked with players after not hearing a great deal since we signed Downs.

Sounds alright but no real game changing signing links as yet. Quarshie and Downs to a lesser extent so far have been solid signings but I still think we need some major and some statement signings.

YOu could argue if we keep both/either of Fernandes and Dibling those would be 2 major statements.

Yes you coukd argue that but keeping both is incredibly unlikely. Even keeping one I'd say on balance is less likely than them both going.

Something smells off with this spertsyan situation .talk for ages now that the player is happy and club is happy yet nothing happening .. seems like agent is either inviting bids or negotiating a new contract

We also probably wouldn't see any "statement" signings unless we sold one of them.

Yes, its all being played out openly in the press which is a giant "come and get me" plea. If no team he wants more than Saints moves for him then he's ours, but otherwise i feel like we're being strung along. If anything, maybe we need to issue an ultimately and move onto other targets.

The reality is he's far too good for our level. I never even considered we could get someone like him in the champ - and that alone makes me suspicious. It may be that we're being used as bait for bigger fish, and it maybe that if they don't come in for him that we'll land him - but equally he could just settle for a bumper new contract... Fingers crossed we get him at any rate.

I would suggest if it doesn't move forward significantly after their game tomorrow we can assume we've moved on.

Scored twice in the end and the second was a good strike from the edge of the area.

This report suggests he’s worth less than €10m…circa €3m. Probably about our level of expenditure…

Hoffenheim seeking €10m according to article. Wouldn’t be like us to overpay would it ? (Thinkng Bazunu, Edozie for example).

Mark Noble was walking around ocean village this morning. Make of that what you will, given he is still involved with West Ham.

Spertsyan reminds me of the whole Gakpo situation.

I'm awaiting for the we tried bollocks, either that or it's a smokescreen for some underwhelming City youth player on loan.

The view from West Brom fans is that he failed the medical. Also Rudoni has been out and about in Leamington Spa and made it very clear he is not leaving Coventry.

I don’t doubt that may be the local word, but he’s hardly likely to foghorn the view ‘ I’m waiting for an offer and might piss off ‘. Have to be a bit of a knobhead to do that. *

*although I have read that Lallana  did exactly that c2009 or 10.

Well if for some reason he wasn't with his team watching Sunderland make them look like relegation candidates and he was in Southampton negotiating for Fernandez then his team just made his job all the more difficult today with that performance. West Ham will be even more desperate to make signings before the transfer window shuts so if they want Matty pay up or shut up!

I mean, if we’re not going to bring anyone else in this window then we may as well hang on. Given the way Still wants us to attack at speed he could be a better option off the bench than some.

He was in the best form of his time at Saints before he got clobbered at Norwich.

Five goals for Cov, no goals or assists in a very makeshift Derby team.

Thanks. Nothing of note from him then.

Trouble is, you can cynically put your own interpretation on it. If he plays well, then he’s clearly playing for a move, but if he’s crap and going through the motions, then he’s already gone (“his head is at St Mary’s”).

Alternatively, the third and most likely possibility, he just had an average or poor game.

Does he attack at speed though ? He was capable of it a couple of seasons ago, although very often he wanted to do the nifty footwork, step overs, and soft shoe shuffle , ie just mincing around.

But he seemed capable of more, although end products and shots weren’t great despite a few goals.

Agree that his season and form dived after Norwich, and for whatever reason, Martin didn’t seem to trust him afterwards.

Agree that he could be good for us, and really develop at St Mary’s with some better players around him.

Reasonable price though ? With the press reporting what we’re asking for our two key players, I’d be surprised if WBA won’t be seeking £10-12m.
