Nolan Posted April 7 Posted April 7 December 15th: Quote Current Under-21s Manager Simon Rusk will take charge of the team on an interim basis until we announce a permanent replacement. April 7th: Quote In the meantime, Simon Rusk has agreed to take charge of the team as Interim Manager for the remaining seven fixtures of this season and will be assisted by Adam Lallana. Rickie Lambert had an interesting anecdote during the Sports Hour on Radio Solent. Said the wins started coming under Adkins when the players specifically ignored a specific aspect of Adkins' tactics. Said that Lallana was a powerful voice who knew his mind and that it was likely in the remaining games that we'll see the players who have the workrate that he sees acceptable. Found it interesting that he was specifically included in the announcement this time, compared to December and think it could be a very different 7 games with Lallana's involvement. 3 2 1

That should give him a squad of about three players to pick from. 4

I suspect Lambert is talking crap as we won Adkins third game in charge and he won 10 of the first 16 with 3 draws and 3 losses. I highly doubt the players started ignoring him after 2 games. 3

Badger Posted April 8 Posted April 8 (edited) Lallana obviously a popular choice ! Edited April 8 by Badger
tdmickey3 Posted April 8 Posted April 8 He will fill the "sickly cuddle" 🤮 role so they don`t miss Russ so much, he will use his Klopp experience

Hatchy Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Fair play to Lallana , he must have taken a large pay cut to take on the new roll . Hats off to him , I didn’t know he was so dedicated .

Hatchy Posted April 12 Posted April 12 What are you saying ? Is he an assistant or a player ? surely can’t be an assistant on ‘ players contract ‘ . That would make him one of the best paid coaches/assistance in the league right

The club would just be paying what they already agreed to pay him. There isn't that many weeks left on it. If he remains at the club beyond the summer as a coach that would be the point for a big reduction in wages from what he is currently on. I doubt we'll see him play much, if at all. Perhaps final game of the season he'll have a cameo as a final goodbye. Edited April 13 by Matthew Le God

Getting up and down, running all day, putting his body on the line, getting his foot in, shrugging off injuries and putting the team above everything. That's Lallana alright. in the 357 minutes he's spent on the pitch helping us this season, of all the things I've most most admired about Adam - and what a guy he is - I think top of the pile must be his his amazing engine and the way he busts a gut. You can tell he just bleeds for the Saints cause. Edited April 15 by Midfield_General 3

Turkish Posted Wednesday at 08:19 Posted Wednesday at 08:19 Dont particularly like him as a bloke as always seemed a bit of snivelling litte drip but had a very good career, classy player, sort of player i enjoy watching in an era where speed and power are priortised over skill. Bit of a shame be came back tbh as his first stint with us he was class, the way he left put a cloud over especially as no one would have blamed him for moving on. Still 5

The best you can say is you can't really blame him for last year. I wonder if he ever regrets the manner that he left last time as he could have been really highly thought of here had he done things in the right way. 2

Ted Bates Statue Posted Wednesday at 11:00 Posted Wednesday at 11:00 How was that the front page story, can't believe people actually pay 40p to pick up and read that shite. I'm more interested in the article on the left. George Osborne looks like he's doing a great job to have us overtaking Germany's economy by 2030. Fast forward to the end of 2024 and, er, we've had to reset the clock for some reason and you can fucking forget about overtaking Germany but we'll narrow the gap to them if we can carry on this way for another 15 years.
