And yet we’re looking at them as a “they’ll batter us if they play like this” in two weeks time 😢

Yeah Arsenal kept calm and picking them off , should have been 1-5 at HT, the start did feel like a dress rehearsal for two weeks time, we know exactly how they'll start and come at us

3-1 now. We are getting to the stage where they start cheering for Arsenal, give it another goal and they’ll be wanting to put a Pompey shirt on martinelli and ole’ing every Arsenal pass

He is a fan, but it’s a bit weird and not quite right that he got this gig, it’s too one sided and brushing off their weirdo fans touching a player, it’s a serious issue and should never happen. Come on the Arse.

Can play Portsmyth bingo with Matterface. Henry, the atmosphere, the overpaid players of old that sent them down to League Two, the special club. Anything else?

Portsmouth is the bestest place in the whole world

The threat Arsenal are from set pieces over the last year or so…. Is ridiculous

Strange how other teams can't do it! They aren't doing anything that others can't with a bit of practice, surely?

It’s genius really, having conceded 3 from corners theyll have been practising how to defend against them now so if we do the exact opposite of that they’ve been practising we’ll catch them cold. Out of the box thinking 👏👏

What coaching team would this be? We’ve got Tonda and a couple of cone movers by the sounds of it

Are they singing Martinellis name yet?

The must be by now, after a hattrick surely. Maybe they’ll Invade the pitch at full time and lovingly mob him and carry him off on their shoulders

Pompey have managed to injure two of their players in this match, TCWTB will be playing holding midfield against us at this rate

"Portsmouth fans are elite and always cheer their team on.*" For a full house.

*Other than the lower profile games they're losing in the Championship.

So predictable. They’re getting hammered so ‘blue army’ starts for 5 minutes so everyone can wax lyrical. Freaks.

So that's 3 cone movers in total then.

Plucky pompey, proud of the lads, wanted it more, battling performance, Premier League leaders given a real test, best atmosphere in world football, magic of the cup, Arsenal scared by the occasion, pride intact, fortess fratton etc ad nauseum.

Otherwise known as a heavy home defeat with chaotic defending and a midget banging in headers at will.

We know that Pompey will be well up for the fight and scrapping for their lives when we play them at their place. Not sure we have an eleven to pick who would have the bottle and stomach to match them in what is sure to be an intimidating atmosphere. Our lot will likely be beaten before a ball is kicked.

Unfortunately they will also know exactly how we are going to play. Not got a team capable of showing any strength, bottle or nous to get anything there.

Let’s be honest, our lot would be intimidated playing away at the dog and duck. We would be 3-0 up there at half time and hanging on for dear life by the end of the 90 minutes

Post by TNT on Facebook with their goal. One of the first posts, as usual, by a Skate “scummers can only dream of an atmosphere like that”

I don’t know about anyone else but my first reaction whenever I see anything about us on social media is to post about Pompey

This exactly.

I have a cousin from the other end of the M27 who does exactly the same thing.

If you feel the need to post about your rivals regularly then you’re probably craving for the attention or recognition that you don’t deserve.

Needless to say, we don’t speak. 🤦🏻‍♂️

He’d get free headers and shots - would you want to get close enough to mark him without fainting from the BO/stale beer fumes?

Pompey v Arsenal in the cup today which bring back memories of one of the most truly cringey moments in football. For those who remember it Arsenal smashing the skates 5-1 and the Skates cheering for Arsenal and singing Thierry Henry’s name. To make it even worse they didn’t see it as completely embarrassing and boasted about how classy it was

imagine if that was us, losing 5-1 at home against a team in the same division and we started cheering on the other team singing they players name. We’d never heat the end of it. no Pashun av you scummers etc etc

That cringeworthy night when they chanted his name to deflect from the embarrassment. Almost as bad as that made up quote for Ronaldinho that it’s the best atmosphere in world football, despite no record of him ever saying it. Weird bunch that lot.

Great performance by Brighton. They had the strength, stamina and power to compete all over the pitch and plenty of skill as well. That's what a well balanced side looks like and we're a million miles away from it. Their players ran their socks off and worked like fuck for the full 90 minutes and got the reward for the effort they put in. Meanwhile our lightweights struggled to hold a 3-0 lead against the might of Doncaster. South coast supremacy is a thing we'll never see again.
