Not a confidence boosting night for the Saints players. All out, Manning gave away a pen, Azaz missed a pen. Peretz only played first 45 mins, hoping that was planned and not an injury.

Azaz and Manning fuck up for Ireland. Sorry chaps.

Yeah, not a great showing from either.

Azaz hit a poor penalty

That was pretty poor by our chaps. First Manning gives away the most needless penalty you will ever see, to change the game with Ireland coasting at 2-0 up.

Then Azaz first miss in shoot out.

At least they’ll be back early.

Nope... Friendly match now next week? Or is that just Wales and NI?

Crikey Manning. Well he doesn't discriminate. Brainless moments affecting an entire nation not just us. Must be gutting for him and Azaz. And Charles.

The most pointless friendlies ever next week.

Sadly it’s about a year out of sync but you could fit the entire life of Freddie Mercury in between the births of Roy Hodgson and Tonda Eckert.

Unfinished business for Roy.

From wiki on his first spell as Bristol City manager in the early 1980s

"Bristol City was nothing short of a disaster in that we had only been there for a matter of weeks before the banks started to pull the rug from underneath the club. My job when I eventually took over, as caretaker manager, was quite simply to carry on in the aftermath of all the players leaving the club and just fulfilling the fixtures."

That's us fucked then.

I remember a terrible Watford team coming to St Mary's a few years ago on their way to relegation and beating us with a geriatric Roy celebrating on the touchline . We have to play Bristol City at home still

Fair play to him still having the drive at 78.

Gerhard has always had an issue finishing a season at a club!

I always suspected he didn't actually get killed at the end of Die Hard.

That England team is a shocker. Foden can barely get a game but starts. Maguire, Spence, Henderson, Solanke, aren't good enough to be squad players, but start.

Isn’t it a squad selection game?. See if any fringe players can put in a performance to challenge anyone earmarked to go to the WC.

Apparently... but Henderson, Spence, Solanke, Maguire, etc, shouldn't be in the frame.
