You would think it would be quite simple to include clauses in players' contracts along the lines of "barring injury, the player will attend training and at all times make himself available to play". Would make it a lot easier to terminate the contracts of these chancers.

Having said that, we really don't (and probably never will) know the full story with ABK. It might be that he actually is making himself available to play, but the club have decided that he's such a monumental bell end that they've told him to stay away for the good of the dressing room.

Maybe the weak heart thing was true ,  could explain a lot , although I reckon he is at it !

I was intrigued so I asked AI:

"Armel Bella Kotchap is generally viewed as a talented and physically impressive defender with good attributes such as strength, pace, aerial ability, and defensive reading. From a personality perspective and reputation within the Southampton dressing room, there is no widespread indication that he is disruptive or a "helmet" causing issues among teammates.

Insights from sources close to the dressing room suggest caution in judgment about him, but they recognize his immense abilities and contributions on the pitch. He has been described as a player willing to fight to rebuild his career and improve his standing in the team. Public statements from Bella Kotchap reflect a professional attitude where he acknowledges the need to perform and bring his best to the club rather than influencing matters off the pitch. There have been no notable reports or rumors about him upsetting or causing dressing room unrest at Southampton.

There are indications from insiders and fan discussions that while he may have suffered from managerial preferences and not always getting playing time under different coaches, this appears more related to tactical choices rather than personality conflicts. He is seen as someone who respects the team environment and is eager to prove himself rather than create division.

In summary, Armel Bella Kotchap’s reputation from a personality perspective is that of a reasonable, professional footballer—not a disruptive or problematic figure in the dressing room. He is focused on football and his development rather than off-field issues."

Or possible extra match appearance fee stipulation, i doubt it but it certainly is a weird situation, bit like Salisu when we first signed him and he seemed to vanish, that was all hush hush

SNSUN's stupidity of the day #1... wondering why the line up hasn't been announced. Then it kicks in I'm 2 hours ahead of UK time in Cyprus.

Let the ribbing commence.

In all seriousness, I hope we see Matsuki. I want him to have a good game to stop the club wanting to loan him out.

There's time for a Rangers European game first.

Watching one of Europe's most up and coming progressive managers play his scintillating brand of passing football, or watching a 7 year old at a poorly run kiddy disco. Tough decision.

Quality of football might be better at the disco. Number of soulful hair tosses higher in the former.

Probably both are not too dissimilar. Both started with a team talk, both lack coordination and I've seen quite a few mistakes so far. Both run by a beardy dude too.

Really looking forward to tonight and the chance to win our first silverware in a while with the Hampton Cup which I’m pretty sure comes with a Champions League spot 🏆

Good news that Fernandes starts... Underlines that a deal isn't anywhere near close IMO

Cup ties him too amirite? Could be a Dave Brooks situation all over again.

How is that going to look formation wise!

I have the same question!?

3-4-1-2 (Archer just behind the tall guys?)

3-3-1-3 ??!

Anyone else just put their entire bank balance on a Saints win?

The wheel said Northampton will win after ET and who are we to question the wheel.

Do we actually have a manager taking the cup seriously? Hold me, I'm scared.

It's our year. Manning FK in the final to win it against United. Exorcise the demon of 2017. Mystic Mug has spoken.

Looks a decent attacking line up. Let's see how they go.

From no target men starting on Saturday to two starting tonight. Does this mean we've actually got a pragmatic manager who learns from his mistakes? What is this trickery!

Same as the start on Saturday probably

343

Downs central, Archer and Stewart wider

Most likely.

However, Stewart wide? Not sure he can do that.

Feels a bit shoehorn to me.

EDIT: great to see him and Downs on the pitch together mind: let's get those crosses in!

Looks like Will is all out of chewing gum... Like it! 🥾🍑

Edit - also hope we see Matsuki, Downes, Taylor. BBD too I guess if we want to sell him could do with some goals...

Sky or Paramount+

Really? Can't find it on there.

I'm away at the moment and don't have my IPTV stick so any links anyone can provide would be appreciated.
