It is crystal clear he is out of his depth. However, as said already by so many, SR will only replace with another dud experiment. Also, who is there out there now available we would want? For me, we would have to try and poach a decent championship manager and I am not so sure many would want to come here. I said it weeks back, something is wrong within the club somewhere. Coaching staff, high up management...not sure where but someone who has an affect on the players. Someone or something or both, is poison within the club and creating bad vibes. We have very good players and with a normal manager and no bad vibes we would for sure be in the top six with this lot. Without even a striker I still believe we are good enough to be top six. Something is very wrong inside SFC. All our decent players go backwards in ability. We seem to anti-coach them.

Good post. Also, why did you steal Nic's log in?

Have you not twigged yet that our continued dive into oblivion coincided with Semmens making the stupid decision to sell the club to Sports Republic.

It doesn’t matter who we bring in, the implementation of tactics and patterns of play are not being communicated from manager to player.  The intermediary in these comms are the coaches and that’s where the problem lies.

Guys i might be in the minority but still has us creating chances, apparently defending well according to the Xg table someone posted we should be 2nd.

The issue is lack of finishing and personal mistakes.

I would at least try and buy him out of Brondby.  Unlikely to happen though.

If SR are brave enough to make the change, I doubt we will go with anyone currently employed. Seems a likely shoot out between Gerrard and Carrick. Surely even the twats running the club aren't going to consider Rooney?

About four weeks of posturing, lots of ‘many strong candidates’ and ‘great deal of interest from home and abroad ‘ ….. then appoint some fucker who is unemployed and available weeks before.

Just a few times.

Think they should rehash Rupert’s favourite ‘no one’s ruled out, no one’s ruled in ‘ mantra from his time with us, when on a managerial search.

Perhaps they’ll just give Nivea a run out as interim, then announce until end of season. Saves them from actually making a decision.

If Rooney has got a laptop, skinny jeans and vapes like a cunt I wouldn’t rule him out.

Carrick might tick the skinny jeans criteria. Probably uses a laptop. Has a beard as well.

No idea of his vaping credentials.

This is true, but my question is why? Finishing obviously is due to the club repeatedly not signing a decent big striker.

Personal mistakes is a bit more complex - take their first goal…you could argue that the scuffed attempt at a clearance by Wood was unlucky and let’s face it, Wood has looked good value lately. But when you look at where the entire defensive line was when he had to kick the ball (almost on the halfway line), which in turn allowed their striker in, you have to question the tactics or at least the coaching of tactics. Why did the defensive line need to be so high? Well because that’s the way we’ve played for 4-5 seasons now - every forward ball HAS to start with a CB who then passes out to a wing-back who invariably goes backwards to a CB ad Infinitum. This method of play persists - who is stipulating this? It’s a massive big deal because not only is it losing us games, it’s instrumental in not allowing the new players to make a positive impact on performance. I’m no tactical expert but to my mind it simply has to be stamped on or we’ll keep falling.

I think Still is out of his depth, but how many on here think Spors is capable of making the right call ? I certainly do not, surely an English manager who knows the championship, can motivate players and can be a hands on coach [ as opposed to a computer manager ] is the way to go.

I agree on knowledge of the Championship being important. However, that manager being english or british should doesn't feel like it should be.

Still has a couple of weeks to save his job imo. And he's going to have to sort out the fucking tactics to make us more efficeint and with better protection at the backline. I couldn't care how high our xG is - it doesn't count when the players on the end of the chances are Jander and Charles half the time. Be more solid, attack less, and focus more of the attacking to our plethora of very expensive attacking players. And FFS, play a bloody holding CDM in the midfield 3, and have a deep lying play maker (azaz/jander) who's job is to float in the space in midfield and use the moment of what is on paper a very talented and mobile set of wingers and attackers (in AA, Fellows, Scienza, Robinson etc.). It is absolutely pointless always being pushed right up to the opposition box, with them set in a strong formation, and having limited space to move - as the city manager says - enjoy the chaos of making the opposition team defend whilst you run and break through them - don't just play in front of a set defence.

With the quality in our squad compared to other teams and money spent  we shouldn't be 18th in the league.....

Dress it up all you want, XG bollocks this....

Our current position is fucking embarrassing  what is happening to our club ?

Next game keep it simple

Azzaz at top behind Amrsgrong and Archer with instructions to feed the ball through.....

Or get Aribo up top behind the strikers to hold up the ball.

Sounds simple right? It’s not…why? Because whatever combination of players chosen in midfield and up front will come unstuck because they’re nearly always attempting to play through 11 men. The act of “feeding the ball through” is easily defeated by 11 men behind the ball - we’re just so damned predictable.

I don’t have the answer but I would bet a hefty sum that most Championship goals are scored on the break and/or through quick transitions to a striker who has a pair of shooting boots. When we manage to do that we look very good value - the problem is we rarely do it because of the snail pace manner in which the ball is moved out of defence and/or because we’re overrun in midfield with a higher risk of being turned over.

We have to give him a few more games but we seriously need to see some evidence that he can turn it around.... I've not seen a lot that prooves he's either tactically astute can make players better or can motivate them... Add that to weird formations and it's not a good recipe, also I'm not sure the players are fully playing for him at the moment

All this XG bollox ….is it XG that plays 5 at back v Swansea at 0-0 when they take off their best player on 65 mins?

Is it XG that when 3-1 down takes off a forward and midfielder plays Fellows wing back yet keeps a back 5 again?

We were sold Still as a flexible tactical manager….im yet to see it!

Laptop, stretch jeans and hobby sounds similar to 'vapes' like a cunt!  Near enough...

exactly that. Some / many got giddy because we dominated Swansea. So we should, their entire match day squad probably cost as much as Damion Downs
