Hopefully his delight alongside MLT means he really does care about this club.

That cunt Ankersen in the directors box though, this whole sorry saga has got his mitts all over it.

Don’t know how Ankerson has the fucking front to be there. No accident that he appears and fucking Stephens and Bazunu are back in the team. Might as well have brought a earpiece so he could micromanage the clone they’ve put in charge.

2 shots on target. 2 goals. We are ruthless finishers. 🙂

The positives are mostly around the goals. Robinson kept his cool after a poor first touch, with AA there to set it up.

Leo's goal was class. What a difference having someone willing to take responsibility, who also has some talent.

Sadly after the second, and Leo's departure, what started as absorbing any reaction from QPR quickly became an all hands retreat.

Even more so from QPR's goal. Baz made the wrong decision. But no points for the defence who didn't track that run right past them.

Baz also spilled one, amongst all the thumped clearances with no one up front.

I didn't mind the subs. Robinson's goal was followed by a return to his rawness. It was fine to get more height on there with Downs and Aribo. But without AA, a lot fell on Azaz to link up. There was none of that.

We had no clue how to break. Downs was often the last out of his own penalty area. I did see one decent control and pass from him. He was also in the centre for a poor pass that went too far in front of him.

We looked desperate for most of that half. QPR threw everything at it. So, credit that we held out under it. But we shouldn't have had to be under it. We panicked.

Shout out for Downes who was clearly upset that Jander got booked before him, and picked up his obligatory yellow for nothing. Every forward pass beyond half way goes right back from him, without a look forward. Yet he picked out a couple of really good ones from the edge of our box, and was there as part of any RussBall we played.

A win for Selles Mk 2. But an absolute ton of work ahead. Hopefully, that's some of the fear out of the way.

Where does this leave Eckert on the all-time best list of SR-era Saints' managers?

100% win percentage.

100% of shots on goal have gone in.

100% of goals conceded have been savable by the girls under 12 team.

So pretty good so far.

I think the only thing lower than our confidence right now, is Bonnie Blues Cervix.

That was a terrible watch, Scienzas absolute stunner aside.

BUT!! We've been crying out for this team to show some fight for the last few months and at least tonight we've seen that.

Granted some of that fight we showed, we were punching ourselves in the head, plums and stomach but we've at least shown it!!

A win on Saturday, a 2 week international break for the pressure cooker to die down and hopefully we can steadily see some confidence return.

That was ugly. But that winning feeling could well be crucial. We have to start to believe, We have to bury the mental fragility. But we need to cut out the mistakes.

There's a lot of work to do. And dropping precious seems like a difficult task. Rough ride ahead.

Another 3pts from bazunu, that's 9 so far this season with him in goal, higher return than with calamity McCarthy.

So your saying the rest of the team plays better when they know to expect a calamity behind them.

That ugly win will look better if they can get 3 points against the side at the bottom of the table this weekend. Then maybe a couple of wins can breed a little bit of confidence for the new head coach to work with.

Fair play, the defence threw their bodies on the line. Baz a contradiction as always. One good save and then two howlers, one that didn't cost us. We just don't have a decent GK. Can we recall Ramsdale in January?

Bazunu - Terrible

THB - Terrible

Stephens - Not his worst game

Wood - Did ok

Fellows - Did ok considering he's playing out of position

Manning - Will he ever stop a cross?

Downes - Was terrible in the first half but improved

Jander - Thought he struggled tonight

Robinson - Didn't have a great game but did score

Armstrong - Ineffective upfront but everyone knows that

Scienza - Different class

Roerslev - Thought he did alright

Azaz - Useless

Aribo - Lazy and useless

Downs - No words needed

It was horrific after Scienza went off, but somehow we managed to hang on. The win was the bare minimum.

Safe to say, Still was not the problem. At least half the team ain't good enough. Bazunu must never play for Saints again.

And on to Saturday.......

Yes Bazunu made a howler for their goal but his save at the end and his catches helped us kill the game off.

Not to mention the howler when he took too long to get rid of the ball.

Appreciate they are as relieved as we are, if not more, and I am splitting hairs a bit but I didn’t enjoy the reaction from our staff on the bench at FT. The standards should be higher than rapturously celebrating that at the whistle. Looked like a lower league minnow celebrating an FA Cup upset. I noticed Lallana didn't really engage with it while the others were all hugging and bouncing up and down in delight, which makes me think he thought it was a bit much too. Hopefully we look externally for someone to come in and raise the bar

This is where we really could do with Spors dipping into his little German black book to find a decent keeper that's under the radar.

Agree, nothing to celebrate there and should be looking at the bigger picture. Tonight was papering over cracks.

Just a different book to the one he found Downs in - Fiesta or Escort. It ought to come in a brown paper bag whatever it was.

That stat that Bazunu has 3 wins under his belt has rocked my boat a little.

Got to be a coincidence, or is it that we just can't see his impact beyond the flapping.

I prefer him over McCarthy, but I refused to believe there wasn't an alternative out there in the summer.

If we get 3 points v Sheffield W the goons will give the job to Eckert. You just know that is what they want to do. Clever, cheap, aren’t we fucking smart option.  Just no SR.  Do not appoint Selles mk2. Get a proper manager in who will sort these prima Donna wankers out and bin them off.  Appoint Eckert, you are appointing disappointment, mediocrity and no ambition. Your choice, you own it, fans defo know better…

All you can do is beat the team in front of you.
A win's a win.
The great teams are the ones who still find a way to grab the points when playing badly.
The only stat that matters is the scoreline.
We got the job done.

Anyone got any more gems tucked away in the Shite Pundits' Locker they can drag out to paper over the fact that we play like a poor Under 11s side?

What you mean the little German black book with Damion Downs on page one with a large tick next to his name? Again he came on tonight and could not have looked less like a footballer than Alan Carr.

Remember the days when you always left a striker on their final defender. It would have forced them to leave one more defender back (Despite the forward being Downs). As it was, their one defender just collected with no pressure and simply recycled.

It's not hard to outwit our defenders. You've just got to make a bog standard run across them and they are bamboozled.

No the one he plucked Scienza and Jander from preferrably.

Yes Downs is shite but we've also brought in some good talent from there.

From the short while I was fiddling with the remote, my stream was still on the Telly.

The view was from the camera behind the saints fans..you could see plenty of them all gesturing the players/manager for the jazz hands celebration, but hardly any of the players stepped across the 18 yard line and kept their distance. Ekart did though and did the hands thing.

Of course, they may have gone full-on Jazz Hands after I turned the stream off.

It was a rookie manager celebrating a win for a team devoid of confidence, no problem with that.

We talk about wanting passion and then criticise a celebration.

He could have played the last 15 mins poised to pounce on the half way line and their defenders could still have pushed right up without worry.

What a bunch of utterly miserable t**ts on here.  Saints have forgotten how to win so they were always going to make it difficut for themselves.

They showed more spirit tonight than they have done for a very long time and put their bodies on the line and didn't crumble.  Hopefully that will give them some confidence.

Yes Bazunu made a howler for their goal but his save at the end and his catches helped us kill the game off.

Fellows and Azaz were absolutely dreadful (again) and Manning is terrible.

3 points and hopefully some confidence going into the Wednesday game

Still think most of the mummy’s boys on here want us to lose it gives them something to moan about as opposed to there generally miserable lives.

Bazunu is so deep in the box though for where the ball has been played in from. Should be at least on the 6 yard box.

- Scienza, 1 shining light, pure quality. Robinson at least put himself about and scored a decent if lucky goal. Fellows tried hard but spent most of his time defending. No ball out of defence except to Scienza, AA totally invisible except for the pass back to Robinson for the goal. Jander gets a pass as he's trying and he's a kid. Rest of team total shit.

- NO F***ING LEADERSHIP. Robinson air kicks to give away a corner, he's clearly running entirely on adrenaline after the goal, where is the f***ing captain who should be calming him down, don't worry, let's defend this? Nowhere to be seen.

- THB looks like he's trying to get sent off, dropped or whoever the f*** knows, answers on a postcard please, he clearly doesn't want to be there. Downes the same, talked himself into a yellow, how stupid do you have to be?

- Press hopeless except for the one time Robinson dispossesses their guy and then we score. Defenders too deep.

- Defence somehow got worse but managed to concede only 1 goal. Baz shit, should not have lunged at ball for their goal, BUT the 3 CB's were just as much at fault for that. Wood and Stephens were looking at the ball and completely ignored the man who got in behind them! What the actual f***? Shambolic defending. Baz also spilling the ball on a routine save FFS.

- Front 3 did not seem clear on pressing pattern, whose man was whose. Downs needs to be in the U23 until he learns how to press, he's just marking space, what's going on there? And that dive at the end by him I just don't understand. He had control of the ball, there's only 1 defender back, you have to attack, even if you're not the most talented as he can't dive in as he knows if there's a mistake he's off. Football IQ 0.
