Wolves selling Strand Larsen for big money and replacing him with Armstrong for a fraction of the fee is like us selling Ings and replacing him with Armstrong.

It’s like selling a big useless bus only to get run over by a smaller even more useless bus.

Sport Republic doing what they do best, being spectacularly clueless.

Did anyone expect anything different?

Armstrong and Archer want out so we are in panic mode.

Clowns at all levels of the club.

I think it is pretty easy for Wolves. They are down, they have an opportunity to get insane money for one of their players and at the same time, sign guaranteed championship goals for next season.

We bring in two, I'd be happy for Archer to go. We need one anyway, so the Larin should be the 2nd if I'm honest. You can't remove Downs, Fraser, Archer, Armstrong from an attack in one month and just add Larin. Regardless of their quality and impact, it's about numbers too - as Armstrong was also a wide right option for us, who goes there if Fellows is injured?

You cannot rely on Stewart, he will get injured again in the forthcoming weeks - it's inevitable. And that would thrust a young U21 kid straight into the spotlight, which we seem to enjoy doing with young players before they're ready.

We are 7 points off the playoffs with a lot of football to go. To write off the season at this point and assume that the best we can do, after selling the league’s top scorer to a potential rival next season, is loan in a striker with no goals this season is a bit of a joke. Concerning if that’s the attitude the ownership is taking.

I take your point, but, it ignores that we're better off playing a 4231, and with a big man up top.

Assuming you agree, where does AA it into that? Ditto Archer? AA up top would mean changing how we play, or using him as wing cover. Archer would continue to be Archer.

The positive about this move is it shows a commitment to playing a new way.

Yeah but my point is he won't be coming on for 20 minutes as backup to Stewart. On the many games that Stewart won't play because he can't play whole games or if/when he is injured again we will be relying on him to play substantial amounts of games.

16 games plus the fa cup. You don't think Stewart and him can cover those games? Are you thinking we need three plus Oyekunle?

I'm not sure anyone would suggest that Larin, Stewart, and a kid are the way to go for the rest of the season. Archer goes regardless, but I'm not sure I'd keep AA purely as wing cover. Perhaps we'll see Edozie again...

So this Larin guy looks like he has been out injured about 3 different times this season already - what are the odds that he’ll be injured at the same time Stewart inevitably is out next? Seems a massive risk unless he’s one of two (or Archer doesn’t go after all)

we wrote the season off when we appointed Tonda.

Thankfully, we have way better players than the teams below us (largely), so we will be alright regardless

You keep saying this you absolute muppet!  The season wasn't written off when making Tonda manager - we'd just won 5 out of 6 and were 2 points off the play-offs.

Get your facts right you utter bed wetter.

He is going to be a very good manager for us, that I'm sure of.  He obviously has no say on incomings and has had to work with a bunch of lightweight, no heart players.  Everyone says going 4 at the back made all the difference: I think it's more likely what was said in the dressing room after the Hull debacle as there has been a ton more fight since then

We’ve played some of our best football this season with Arma as the lone striker so not sure it’s right to say he can’t play that role.

Stewart, if fit, is the best striker at the club IMO but we all know he will break down in a couple of games time. I’m all for a more physical striker but this guy sounds pretty low quality…if you’re going to lose Arma’s goal threat then you need to replace it from somewhere else and doesn’t sound like Larin has many goals in him at all.

No. There hasn’t been a 16 game stretch, since he joined the club, where Stewart has stayed fit.

losing Downs - absolutely no loss at all

losing Archer - pretty much no loss

losing Fraser - absolutely no loss at all

Losing Armstrong - a loss and not sure who play on the right for fellows. Edozie, Robinson? Another loan perhaps?

it's a risk.

We can't afford to go up this season with the quality we've got. There are plenty of players that don't want to be here / are useless. namely McCarthy, Manning, Downes, Stephens, Aribo, Armstrong, Archer and Edozie. So let them go.

Sport Republic have had plenty of time to start resolving this, changing GK and bringing back Bree is a good sign but not good enough.

OK. that stat doesn't make good reading. At some point he is going to stay injury free for an extended period. lets hope its now otherwise my prediction of the play offs aint gonna work out.

Have thought something similar although about the Hull match. If I remember he didn’t appear for the press interview for some time, so wonder if it was not only discussion in the dressing room but with Spors as well over the direction of the club and influence from above

Sorry Badger you're right - I was also thinking of the HUll game.  TOnda came out an hour late: of course he wouldn't say what was said but he must have given them both barrels and some players have been conspicuous by their absence since then (or at least only coming on as subs).

Probably the players saying: "Enough with this back 5 nonsense, let us play four at the back!"

According to Wikipedia this guy from Feyenoord is only on loan there. He’s actually a Real Mallorca player. So he’s not wanted at two clubs currently…

However, never heard of him, never seen him play, but if he can’t play the big guy hold up role and bring others into play he MAY be okay? Who knows!

So if AA isn't the answer, and you'd prefer a big man up top, why keep AA? He's hardly a directive replacement if Stewart is out.

I hate to not be knee jerk but a big physical CF with pace could be exactly what we need.

We have all lamented missing Che Adams but this guy could be similar profile so i will wait a few games before i judge, i think this transaction for me is a goal net net if Armstrong is out the door as i think he could be a wrecking machine to enable azaz, leo and fellows more space and goals.

I know he was behind Uedea and Shaqueel Van Persie at Feyenoord (mgr a certain Robin Van Persie), will ask my mate about the CF situation tomorrow but from what i understand he knew he was the "incase no other choice) CF for them.

Canada in the world cup so he has everything to play for.

I think you’re missing my point. If we are selling a guy that can score goals in this league (AA has scored whilst playing up top on his own) then you need to replace him with better, not a guy with no goals all season and whose only decent goal scoring record is in a largely irrelevant league. I’d prefer a more physical striker but not if that physical striker can’t score…

Not bad, good run initially , had a dip in the middle but 7 from last 9 points. I think I saw that since he took over top 6 performing side - which considering form before he came in is decent turnaround.

Needs bit more to catch up for Still's start though.

I saw him play for Mallorca last season against Vallanoid. He came on as a sub, replacing Tonasa, who was their best player, at right wing. He only got about 20 minutes. Like most of the Mallorca side, he didn't really impress.

Taking a punt on Damion Downs mark II then? Just a McBurnie or Moore would’ve done. The utter wankers that ‘run’ this club.

In the recent game against Real Bettis they played Tengstedt up front and Larin played as the number 10.

Sell our top scorer and replace with someone who looks worse than Damion Downs......

I'd rather sign toljav at Plymouth.... 🤣

I’m not sold on this Canadian fella but we’re not signing the two main strikers from teams miles ahead of us in the table.

This could be worryingly correct.

Don't have a problem with losing AA and Archer but Stewart needs to be managed as he will come off after 60 minutes each game. Sadly Okeyunle, judging from Stoke, looks too far out of touch. His languid 'jog' was all wrong. Come on. You're in the first team for quite a few minutes so run around like a fucking madman possessed. He got in the wrong positions. His touch, when he got the ball, was awful. There was nothing to suggest he's a suitable sub.

While we still have a chance of the playoffs, we need to make a sensible loan signing up front.

Larin would be a huge mistake. He's industrious enough but in the games I've watched him in for Canada he's not much of a goalscorer.

30 goals looks good but most vs the likes of Bermuda, El Salvador etc.
