Watching that was pretty exhausting tbf. Thought we were solid all round. Great team performance. Difficult to pick standouts but kudos to Peretz. My initial thoughts on this game were based around how we've struggled against the top six, so it was a nice surprise to win this. On to the next one.

Best game of the season?   We were good all over the pitch, and won a lot of second balls .

Lampard looked typically miffed, but not sure what he had to complain about - they had 20 shots

(to our 8 ) and were lucky to be awarded a rather soft penalty.

Good to see Downes and Matsumi scoring goals, they really are improving, but Peretz was MoM for me.

Good week ahead.  We have 2 home games .whilst Wrexham have 2 away games..COYR

Amazing win today, superb , proper away performance, Coventry obviously approached us very differently to WBA which worked for us, we struggle to break down teams who sit deep.

Absolutely massive week ahead, two home games against teams that have already beaten us this season and will try to use those methods of sitting deep and hitting us on the break. Very different challenge. To be fair Norwich manager has done a brilliant job, must be promotion form since he got the job

Top reason for us winning today, according to the wiseacres on the Coventry fans' forum, is that we're managed by Hannibal Lecter.

"If you told me Eckhart was responsible for a horrible crime I wouldn’t be at all surprised. Dead behind the eyes. Cold. Odd."

Downes just called him a genius twice:

It's great to see and hear Downes enjoying his football again and producing performances we know he is well capable of at this level. He should be a key player in any team in this league with his qualities and Tonda has got him back to that so fair play to him for that.

Not at all but was it really the best game of the season?

Let it go, Always. We won away against the runaway league leaders and Tonka got it just right today 👍

Massive 3 points thanks to Tonda's tactical master class especially without Leo and also with Stewart missing so had to deal with the Larin substitution. Thought we'd be losing ground to Wrexham after only managing the draw at West Brom but all credit for everyone involved in today's fantastic performance and result which puts us right back in the mix and our run in is probably more favourable than Wrexham's. Norwich is going to be another tough game but we need to follow up today with another 3 points. Peretz, what a keeper - not only his vital saves but also the way he is constantly talking and keeping his defenders on their toes. Hope we can keep him at the end of the season.

Brilliant performance, best result of the season and a superb way to bounce back from the WBA game.

Peretz had a phenomenal game and that save was Niemi'esque, can't praise it higher than that.

*BUT* this result will be worth nothing if we don't convert against a dangerous Norwich team.

They are like us in that they had a terrible start - even worse than ours - but have since got their mojo back and are looking good. Just like us they are in a false position, probably should be where we are whereas we should be top 2.

After that is Oxford then the crunch game at Wrexham.

It doesn't get any easier does it.

I was busy looking for sexy Lara Croft cos play pics for the last 20 minutes of the game thanks to you lot so I missed the second goal and their penalty (napping, I was napping) but what a great result against a dangerous opponent. Seriously big result. That and the WBA results reversed and there would be not one complaint. Two games coming up next against a much improved Norwich and Oxford. It's still in our hands.

Peretz effin outstanding

What I really like about his game is that he is commanding on crosses.

Hope we buy him.  He’s shaken off the rust and shown how capable he is.

Downes and Peretz were massive

Downes has been our best player since the Pompey away game.  Brilliant again today.  Plays right on the edge.

We might need them for the Norwich match thread.

He's a proper keeper, but he's not perfect. the chance just before half time - he is absolutely rooted to his line and the lad should score. IMO he has to come for that. When the lad heads it he's only about 3 yards from the goal

Funny how some of us got a bit of stick saying we needed a proper goalie - now everyone agrees, he looks like a goalie in positioning and play. It is as simple as that.

The only people that said we didn’t need a new keeper are idiots. It wasn’t “some of us” it was most of the fanbase, with a handful of dickheads being contrary and pingpong being hilarious by posting otherwise.

Yeah agreed and Im pleased for him. Really hard to pick out a standout for me. Could have the whole back 5 and Downes , Azaz and Larin who I thought had his best all round game for us. His first touch was so much better today.

Pretty much the perfect away day.  High fives all round, no need to highlight the negatives today, simply focus on the very many positives. Great day, well done Saints.

Coventy supporting mate forwarding on images of Downes and Matski going studs up on two Cov players. Arguing we should have been down to 9 men.

Oh dear.

Missed the first half so didn’t see that.

I wonder if his poor form was entirely down to his illness?

I suspect so.

Well worth listening to the post match interview with Flynn on Solent/BBC Sounds. Made me love Flynn (and Tonda) and - at last - this bloody team. Brilliant stuff.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0n6p191?partner=uk.co.bbc&origin=share-mobile

Outstanding interview - love that the players are really buying into the manager and he obviously have something about him that they like, love hearing the passion. Flynn especially looked like he'd lost all passion for playing at the start of the season (maybe the illness??), but he's be fantastic in 2026.  Really enjoying watching us play again.

For me, crucial point of note is that we won, away, at the top of the league without Scienza.  Mentally those are a couple of huge confidence boosters.

Lovely stuff.

Peretz, love this guy.
