That sounds serious then. Usually you wait until inflammation goes down before doing a scan. If you have to wait over a week then it's likely to be some kind of tear/rupture.

When I ruptured my achilles I had to wait at least a week for my scan as there was no point scanning it straight away.

He had the scan on Thursday

Two teams coming up at home this week who will both be going for the low block option, let’s hope Tonda has something up his sleeve to get a better result than similar games this season.

6 points would be a dream, 4 points realistic, any less a disaster.

They are like a completely different team this year (10 wins & 3 defeats since the turn of the year).
They aren't out of the playoff picture just yet, I think this will be a way harder test than many imagine. I think they'll come here to win, not just (low block) defend, as they need to catch us in the table, and a point doesnt really help them.

I'm not sure anyone is under estimating how hard Wednesday night will against a Norwich side very much flying at the moment. We cannot afford to be anything less than 110% ready for this. I agree Norwich will want the 3 points as bad as us and will feel they can make the playoffs.

Every game is now almost a must win scenario.

I agree. It will be a very tough game, but you can play to win by sitting deep and hitting us on the break. Norwich seem to have ability to run a game but if they are up against it are a threat on the break too. They are quite similar to us in many ways. 

From what I have seen of them recently, they seem to be brimming with confidence. They totally dominated Leicester and Preston and came back well from being a goal behind against Sheffield United. They seem to be scoring goals from all angles. On the break, through continuous pressure, free kicks, corners...

Slimane plays the Azaz role finding pocket of spaces between midfielder and defence. We need to cut out the suppky to him. They have some pace out wide. Ahmed is a decent player and Maghoma can be dangerous too. The one weakness seemed to be defending set pieces. They have a couple of big centre halves (Cordoba is built like Quashie) but the rest of the side don't seem great in the air.

I don’t think he’ll be playing - if he is great. If not we did ok without him on Sat (not saying he’s not a big miss - he is).

Support has been disappointing at St Mary’s this season, hopefully a bit more edge now playoffs are in sight. Remember how their defender pumped up their crowd in the away game and they got on the ref’s back and got decisions go their way. Our turn now and if Edoze gets on the pitch he can use the injury he picked up there for a bit of payback.

Exactly my thoughts. They usually do say when its nothing serious and is good news. Hoping Tonda has a press conference tomorrow and we get a (positive) update on Scienza and Stewart, as both are so important to us for the run-in.

Two teams bang in form, they made good attacking signings in the window, we are defensively solid. We can nick this 1-0 but it's the game I've been least looking forward to in the run before meeting Wrexham. Do we keep the 3 CMs? Personally think this will be a drab nil nil or 1-1 rather than an all-guns-blazing type of game with goals galore. But then I've been wrong before.

Tough one. We need to come out the blocks fast and want it more than them. It will be a good test of character (again). If we can get 6pts over these 2 home games...it shifts the pressure onto the teams above us.

Need to watch out for Ali Ahmed - he joined Norwich from our Vancouver Whitecaps so I've seen him play many times. He's a very skillful wide player with a turn of pace, good control of the ball and knows where the goal is. better than Edozie and Fellows IMHO.
Full Canadian International alongside Larin and well-deserving of it...shame we didn't get him.

This is a real tough one, get 3 points here and we'll be well set.

Weirdly enough I quietly fancied us to get something at Cov but I feel more apprehensive about this one.

Norwich are in a false position, they really should be fighting for playoffs but just like us they screwed up the first half of the season and will probably miss out. Right now though they are bang in form - just like us. Also they still have a faint playoff chance which will motivate them to reduce the gap between us.

Hopefully we get the win but this will be really close.

Our last midweek performance after a fantastic weekend win against a decent side was completely lacking energy and ideas, hopefully Tonda has worked out how to get them up for this one. Hope the crowd is up for it too, it’s been so flat at SMS recently

There's been plenty examples of the club declaring a player's injury isn't as bad as originally feared, shortly after the appropriate medical analysis / investigation. I'm hoping the lack of news on Scienza is more do so with keeping Norwich guessing rather than it being a long term injury if not.

Just had a look at Norwich's forum, apparently they have a bit of an injury crisis and despite their good form, they think tomorrow might be a game too far their threadbare squad.

It'll be a tough game whoever they put out, I'm not as confident as some Norwich fans are about us winning!

It was the same for the away game. Just hope we have the energy and directness to get behind their defence.

Haven't we sometimes struggled against depleted teams this season...? Or has Tonda quashed that particular Achilles heel now...?

This will be a hard game, right up there with Wrexham away. Second tier pod cast reckon that if us and Norwich had our managers since the start of the season, there wouldn't even be a top 2 discussion - it would be us.

Unfortunatley - its also a must win 😄

Well, back on the pitch but didn't sound like immediate returns? But yes, great news that they're even that close, especially Leo whose injury looked like it would be a few weeks.

Massive news if Scienza is back in training already. 

Wouldn't expect him to start tomorrow, and maybe not in the squad, but should be back in for the weekend on the bench as a minimum.
