The brass band has done its thing and given us our customary slow start then.

As I said yesterday, most people don’t seem to realise the damage the spying has done. Boro wouldn’t be playing like they’re possessed in these games without that. It’s probably lost us the play offs and who knows how severe the punishment will be. We aren’t going to be flush with cash so a fine could be incredibly damaging. A sizable fine could keep us down for many years. Not to mention our reputation being in the gutter for next few years.

The individuals behind the spying need to be thrown under the bus and then reversed over a few times (figuratively speaking). It’s starting to sound like whoever is involved did it on their own accord. We must now look more mucky than that lot down the road in most neutral fans eyes. Let that sink in.

Save the negative bolics till after the game . When we win you won't need it.

Sorry pal, but we’re not winning this one - it’s a step too far. Boro are better than us and the officials are on their side too. Come back here to chastise me if I’m wrong.😑

Having a right chuckle at some of the comments on here.
Just answer these two questions right now.  Did you send someone up to Middlesbrough to spy on them less within 72 hours of the game. Yes or no will do for now.
Have you spied on any other teams this season, within 72 hours of a game with them. Yes or no.

You can provide the phone records tomorrow.

Thank you.

Sleep well buddy 😘

Great win.

When we are working our way back up the football pyramid, we can look fondly back on it.

And it will have to be looking. Our fans will be banned for throwing something at their coach.

Our ball boys will also be banned for not giving them the ball.

THB will still be suspended from whatever is going into the ref's report.

Tonda will be on his island of exile, plotting a Napoleonic return, if part of Spygate.

🙂

Hahaha how wrong could you be. Cheaters vindicated as the fitter and better side.

Cant wait for their snivelling cheating claims.

The official EFL Championship twitter account don't seem to have any doubt about the play off finalists.... ;)

(* Yes, I know they couldn't post otherwise... #banter)

I'll just save that now, before they take it down. 🙂

I honestly have no clue why so many people are just assuming we're guilty when not a soul has seen the evidence.

One time when I did jury duty, there was a sexual harassment case and it looked bad from the initial accusations and stuff, and the bloke had been in the paper for being suspended from his job. Turns out the evidence from the accuser was absolutely paper-thin and though she was clearly upset about it, it was just not the bloke accused due to the laws of physics (he was simply too far away and too pissed judging from general CCTV footage). That bloke's name got dragged through the mud and he had been suspended from work so I don't know how he was surviving. All because of a overreaction / mistaken accusation and the CPS believing the accuser and going ahead with the charge.

Feels a bit like that to me, but who knows? Daft to pre judge at any rate.

They have all been a bit pathetic about it, it probably happened and we were dumb to get caught out doing whatever we were doing - but they have 110% used this to 'try' and carry the team to Wembley, they've blown this out of all proportion to try and give them an edge.

It probably slightly did, but sadly for them they can't finish their dinner.

I don't quite understand why there is talk of expulsion or anything like that, the media keep pitching it in the post match stuff. It's nonsense. That isn't going to happen. It will be a fine now, and if there are any footballing sanctions (which is a big if - bans/touchline bans or points) then it will be applied to next season.

I know Boro's argument is 'how does that help us', well I'd suggest they could have helped themselves by staying in the Top 2 or finishing their chances in the 1st leg.

And also, isn't it somewhat fun to be hated? We've always been seen as this soft, provisional, nondescript club who just goes about it's things - Mr Nice guy in football circles. But I actually quite like us being hated like this, it adds a bit of spice to it all.

There have been far more impactful "scandals" over the years, West Ham staying up with Tevez and Mascherano, Henry's handball goal against the Republic of Ireland, Liverpool tapping up Van Dijk, leaving us without our best player for a season (First half he was sulking, second half he was sold), Manchester City's 100+ charges, illegal signing of youth players by financially incentivising family's... It goes on and on. All were initially supposed to face big punishments according to reports, and then nothing of any real note happened. It would be very unprecedented if we were kicked out of a competition, which we achieved over the other 46 league games for watching a few fitness drills when Leeds admitted to spying all season and got a £200k fine... And yeah, I know the rules have changed since. Look at the reaction when Bielsa was doing it:

Gary Lineker tweet

But, anyway the best thing about all this is that Middlesbrough will still be training over the next week. 😂😂😂

I still believe there is a reasonable chance we could be thrown out. Tonight was immense but it could happen.

I love it.

Weve had Man City fans crying that our fans were a bit mean to them after the semi final, and Middlesbrough fans going on about never forgetting this as if the clubs have a rivalry now , its completely taken over their tiny minds.

We're not here to make friends lads.

"Players trying to assault Lampard"

I see Henry Winters getting stuck into the social media pile-on. Henry loves reporting on the big clubs, so I'm surprised to see him even bother with us. It's a long, sanctimonious post that really overemphasises the moral decay and poor sportsmanship he sees as prevalent at our club.

I just find it all to be so ridiculously exaggerated. It's a media bubble where people can't see the wood from the trees.

What really baffles me is how many of our fans on social media seem to be agreeing with him. One even going so far to say he wouldn't want to bring his kids to the game due to our 'shameful behaviour'. Madness.
