Not kicking around on a training ground but real tactics in real time in real matches. What are you going to get more useful information from? We know what the teams are an hour before the game with a good idea of how they will set up. Games play out over 90 minutes plus and the outcomes are governed by what happens and how various people react in real time during the game. There is only so much prep you can do before a game no matter how much information you have on the opposition. We didn’t win any of the games we admitted to spying on the opposition beforehand. Did we break an EFL rule? Yes, clearly. Is the rule nonsensical given the above? Yes, clearly. The reason you’ve said it so many times is because you don’t like the answer, so you keep ignoring it. If the rule was nonsensical then there’d be no reason whatsoever to break it, but we did. We broke it three times, apparently by accident because the scouts arrived too late on all three occasions, completely by coincidence. 1

It's considered okay before the 72 hours, so that all teams know when they can train generally, and when they can focus on tactical plays without fear of observation. In that tactical window, teams can try out, and instruct on, a variety of options. Not just what you can see appearing in games. Attacking and defending set pieces being obvious ones. In those, there are far fewer variables in a set piece than across wider play in the 90 mins. We have it because Fair Play Bielsa was watching every training session.

Yep, and that kind of approach, coupled with the "I didn't know the rule" line, and our "nothing either see here just give us a fine" line, will do nothing to help us. When you've been caught playing with a wonky bat, and are in shit, you don't insult the intelligence of the people dishing out the punishment. It devalues any apparent remorse. We don't appear to have done that though. There is currently no suggestion that we haven't been fully cooperative and honest with the FA during the investigation.

Ultimately after a certain point then as far as SFC are concerned the length of ban doesn't matter. Probably over three months and he would be sacked anyway so from our perspective, beyond that it could be ten years for all we should care.

Same day appeals are normal, and shouldn't take long to prepare. Essentially, you're saying that they initial panel got it wrong, and you don't need long to prepare why you say they got it wrong. The issue we had with the EFL case is that we chose to replace counsel prior to the appeal, presumably because she didn't do well.

It's at the centre of this whole case. If Tonda receives a hefty punishment many fans will go ballistic. If you think it's not much just wait and see what happens.

Genuinely not sure why they would go for more than six months. At that point we will sack him anyway and it's job done as far as they are concerned if that is their aim. The deterrent is already there and longer than that has no precedent apart from a lot more egregious things in my opinion. It will start to look like very extreme if you're talking about a year ban plus. That's even me trying to look at it from a neutral point of view. Mad that they allowed him to start the season if this was the plan from the summer. Edited 34 minutes ago by hypochondriac
