After being so cross, less than a year ago,  that we had appointed Tonda as manager (" typical SR . Trying to be too clever. Doing it on the cheap. etc ") I think that I will wait before judging any new manager.

Imagine if we go for another 3 at the back wanker.

SR love a bit of 3 CBs in the team. Maybe Fellows will flourish as a RWB.

Thankfully we don't really have the squad for it.

Kieran McKenna would be my preference.

Rumoured to being lined up to replace Carrick at man u.

Would be a tough choice for him ... us or them 😉

Not sure we have in recent history. Maybe when Hoddle was manager

Yet, for some reason until now, those who SR appoint seem to gravitate to it...

I really hope it's not Rob Edwards or any other manager that will insist on a back three.

4-2-3-1 is clearly the correct formation for this squad. Would be mental to so fundamentally change such a successful approach.

I mean, you are right in the sense that TE has been a gem. But simultaneously, your instincts were right. He has royally f-ed us too.

Rob Edwards is very hot and miss, no doubt which part of his managerial stint he’d do for us.

Any manager that gets Luton Town in Premier League has to be good.

What about a manager that then gets back to back relegations to League One?

I mean, I think he's all right. Solid. But we're terrible playing 3 at the back, and that's his MO.

Not a good fit, for me.

Miron Muslic.

That's a random name to throw up out of nowhere. Hmm.

(another 3-at-the-back dolt, mind you)

Some of the names I’ve seen being touted on social media and on this site have got to be wind ups 😂

In a refreshing way, it’s nice to see nothing has or is being linked by internal affairs at the club

Why would he leave a huge top flight German team to join us?

All out for Thomas Frank if it comes to it.  Surely the SR link would work in our favour??

Hasn’t Rasmus now gone from the club, and his influence with it ? He was named as the ‘link’ before.

But what about the bloke who laid the foundations at Luton for him ?

Another bearded hipster type appointment. Accept that Plymouth beat a weakened Liverpool in the Cup but apart from that his lasting achievement there was his YouTube video and table thumping team talk.

Good job ‘Ted Talk’ Ankersen won’t be involved in the selection.

Give me 3 reasons for Frank to take that job?

Another good reason Frank might want to come here.

Only remotely feasible if we sacked Eckert after getting a long ban.

But...

- Can stay in England close(ish) to where he's been in London

- Within the top 24 wage budgets in the English leagues

- One of the best squads in the Championship, with a good chance of promotion

Now give me 3 reasons why he would want the job, not generic reasons anyone would want it?

If he wants to, he’ll walk into any bottom half PL job that becomes available later this season, ones with bigger budgets and close to London if he’s really that bothered. Those are not reasons to take the job for Thomas Frank who has already proven himself at a level above ‘good chance of promotion’.

The risk/reward just isn’t there for him.

He’s done a very good job at Schalke.

Boro fans hate him. Plenty of reasons not to want him but not that.

He plays 5 at the back so it's a no from me.
