I agree his value will drop next summer but I wonder how much by in the event we don’t go up? If Villa’s first offer was £18mil I could still see a prem side paying £15mil next season.

My hope is THB respects that the club are holding a reasonable value and it’s up to Villa to meet it.

It really depends on the actual figures. If we are asking for £30m they might quibble a bit, but if its £25m then THB and his agent have to regard that as reasonable fee. If not, will they be lowering this wage packet in line with that reduced value?

I think every man and his dog knew Derby would try to get BBD back. I wonder who will blink first.

£2.5m plus £500k add ons after 40 appearances or something like that. BBD won’t want to be on loan again even if it’s near to where he’s from. He might have to waive some bonuses to do it and depends if Derby were reliant on the Saudi investment or not (I suspect it actually means they’re keener on BBD with it not going through).

Wages dumped for Saints would be helpful.

Should Saints hear the word "million" during their discussions the next word to come out of their mouths should be "yes"

Talk of a $6-9m fee.

While Downs is a player Seattle have monitored, the interest was characterized as preliminary, with no indication that a deal is currently advancing. At this stage, all of that indicates a move to Seattle is unlikely to materialize.

Boo.

If we have to give Derby £2.5m to take him its worth it

Yup. Show us the money Celtic/anyone else interested. Sale only, no more pissing around with loans.

It's not like it's our choice to loan them. If no one wants to buy we have no choice

I still think THB goes (maybe to another prem team) but it does sound like they are offering 30 million at the end of the season because they don't have a spare 30 million now rather than because they want to keep cash spare for thb this season. It does seem like this isn't a tactic and they genuinely are going elsewhere. Maybe that will change if they get loads of cash for Ollie Watkins.

Wouldn't be surprised if someone like Palace came in late on for THB. Riad out long term again, just signed Tomiyasu but has barely played for a few years and they often / usually(?) play 3 at the back so could be looking for an extra. Aside from that, think they may really struggle this year - the Mateta situation is fairly toxic and just seem to have a lot of average players, which along with the European football might cause them issues.

As long as we have been consistent with the asking price, then fair enough. Villa and other clubs know what it’ll take to have an offer accepted. What should we do accept a lower offer because it’s a good move for THB, no chance. I’d be saying they obviously didn’t want you that much to pay the asking price.

If the Fulham manager doesn't think U21 player Luc De Fougerolles is up to the task, then they are a CB light. And we know their scouts have likely been watching him after the Silva/Benfica  interest.

If they spend £60m on our players this season, they’ll have gone Fulhampton.

Still no indication if they are getting both of them or not.

Every indication they want one or both for next to nothing. Either they aren't serious or they are in bigger trouble, SCR-wise than people realise.

Could they drop another 30 million after Charles?

They do seem to have limited funds for either player

Good for Brugge. Masses of the fee dependent on performance related bonuses that may mnever be reached is bullshit. Particularly because Villa appear to be on a downward trend.

They also have form with Harvey Elliott last year and just benching him permanently in order to not have to buy him.

I can see their sought after manager getting fed up shortly.

Harwood-Bellis almost certainly won’t be in the squad tomorrow, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he was back for the weekend.

I'd say he's more than almost certain to not be in the squad for tomorrow.....

Not sure. Their net spent is about £60m this summer already. It was about £50m for all of last season and £20m the season before. They seem well run and aren't going to go mad just because everyone else is.

Liam Delap to Forest for £45m.

Really no idea what sort of level he is at. It looked like he might be a top top player at one point.

Really needs this move to work out for him. Way overpriced.

Didn’t Chelsea buy him for £30m? Not a bad return for them given he didn’t set the world alight there.

Bloody hell, that’s a ridiculous fee! How have they done that

Intrigued to see how he does. Think he’s a good player, used incorrectly at Chelsea

Which cunt was that?

Why did I need to ask? Jack Stephens.

He is utterly pathetic but undroppable, which is laughable.

If we lose THB we are fucked

I think "not a bad return" making a £15million profit on a massive flop is being very polite. Forest (and Glasner!) deserve to get relegated.

Many praised Stephens against a woeful Stoke team.

So that’s 3 mistakes in 3 games which is an average one a game. No doubt we will get another fuck up from him this Saturday. Maybe THB wants out as he can’t handle having that muppet next to him.

If THB goes we need TWO CB’s.

It’s a shame about Ratkov as his highlights before his Lazio move showed him as a good target man. Spitting image of Stewart but fitter you would think.

Looks like we are throwing the kitchen sink at him but he’s still not interested.

Need a commanding CM and a target man with the two CB’s.

Big week coming for  Saints.

I'm not sure it's players we need at this point. More like a fucking miracle.

We really are just very fucking poor aren't we.

No result to paper over the cracks tonight. New spine needed. 2 CBs (or 1 to partner THB if he stays). 1 CM and a Striker. Dobbin already looks like he's going to struggle. Need the same standard of recruitment we had end of last summer's window.

Sometimes you can see it’s just isn’t going to work as with BBD and with Dobbin.

Loan him out, admit the mistake, worst that can happen is that he might score v some of our rivals, PNE would probably take him on loan. If he does well there again probably get our money back.

Better to ship Edozie out as well and get a couple of quick, direct, wide players in from PL u23 sides on loan. They won’t be perfect but they’ll have a go.
