Saint Keef Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Once again, the BBC are all over this like a fucking rash. They do love a bit of controvesy. However their so-called researchers didn't seem to be able to find out that the legend, who was Kevin Keegan, played 80 times for Saints. Sorry chaps - needed to get that off my chest. Cheers. 22

The FA have had the rule Tonda is charged under for a long time, so Bielsa would have set a precedent for FA punishment. Fair point, but could they bring a charge on Bielsa, if there hadn’t been an ‘offence’ or misconduct as far as the League were concerned at the time ?

Disgraceful stuff. They could have mentioned that KK had his best ever goal scoring season when a Saints player. 1

Difficult to understand how it has taken so long just to get to the stage of charging him for something previously admitted. No idea as to the workings of this, they’ve interviewed or heard Tonda. Does the club, or his representatives, now get opportunity to make their plea , or do they (the FA) now just go away for another wankathon behind closed doors to decide the fate ?

Willo of Whiteley Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Woah, woah, woah. At lunchtime it was thought that he wouldn’t be banned and now it’s rumoured (albeit by the Guardian) that he will? Has he strangled kittens or something over the afternoon? What’s gone on?

To be honest the intern is the one who done it .. if tonda asked him to jump off a cliff would he do that as well .. I bet the intern won’t get punished at all though

Also maybe if we had any sense about it maybe dragon himself or the club them self should of just taken the blame on themselves instead of letting of letting tonda .. what could they do then ..Ban dragan? Surely there is people above tonda who greenlighted this too it shouldn’t be all at his door Edited 3 hours ago by pimpin4rizeal

But probably nowhere near severe enough for Gibbo and his assorted media chums. 1

hypochondriac Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Reading the caveats in the reporting, the "up to six months" ban is pote tally good news. That means that six months is potentially the absolute upper limit for a ban. Maybe this is before mitigation, legal argument from our side about proportionality etc.
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago After Bielsa:- A statement from the Football Association read: "The FA has on this occasion decided to conclude this matter by issuing formal warnings against Leeds United FC, Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa and a club video analyst. "Notwithstanding The FA's decision on this occasion, The FA will take appropriate action should further evidence of this nature come to light in the future." Note the fluffy, open ended "on this occasion" and an assumption that the "appropriate " action to be taken should other offences "come to light in the future" refers just to Leeds, which is doesn't explicitly state. So, could be anything. Didn't need Chat GPT for that. 🙂 I do recall Solak saying that if Tonda can't coach (extended ban) then it would impact Tonda's position, as they'd obviously need a manager.

coalman Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago A ban was always a possibility. We gambled by keeping him on now we have to see how it plays out. Let's face it, it was an understandable gamble given our recent managerial appointments.
Roboze Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago A Ban is utterly pointless, he'll just sit in the stands and relay orders, it'll just be a box ticking exercise.

ant Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Throwing our weight behind Tonda was a strong message, but there was an inherent risk to putting it all on red. There's been an arrogance from day dot that we'd escape with a slap on the wrist. I've seen little to no evidence our leadership has learned from it. Did they expect the FA investigation to pass without incident? Or was their master plan really to hope the ball wouldn't land on black? 3 2
Badger Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago 2 minutes ago, Roboze said: A Ban is utterly pointless, he'll just sit in the stands and relay orders, it'll just be a box ticking exercise. How far reaching is a ban ? Is it solely a touchline ban or does it extend to training ground and all involvement? Could be either I suppose

Starksj1995 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago This should been sorted weeks ago we know the EFL had to send over the evidence to the fa and they took there time to be through about it Tonda was interviewed in London 3 weeks ago less than a month before the season starts but worrying he get banned tbh what he did was wrong bullying staff etc and he has admitted it which would go in his favour

Pamplemousse Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago The timing is interesting, we'll be in Germany probably when any decision is announced. Maybe we can get around any ban by Tonda coaching the team out there, and then flying the team in and out for every game... for clarity, I am not being serious

Any company makes contingency plans for worst case scenarios and it is not SR’s fault that the FA have taken so long to deal with this matter. No, it's not the club's fault that the FA have taken so long. But I feel they could have been far more vocal in applying pressure to speed things up. Can't help feeling that a bigger, better connected club wouldn't have been meekly sitting back waiting for the FA's open-ended process to play out, so that we end up with a decision and potential ban looming right at the start of the season. They would have at least been making it known through media channels that the club are keen for matter to be resolved quickly and feel it would be unacceptable for FA to drag their feet on it all summer.
