Despite the money Spuds have pissed up the wall this transfer window the still look pants

Yeah and media, well Talksport from what i have been listening to in the last couple of weeks, think they're top six material. I think Marmoush will be a good signing but it'll take a long time for them to gel. Fling enough poo and some of it will stick eventually. But for a team with aspirations to get back into Europe and spending shitloads, naming Kinsky as your number one keeper is a strange move.

It's one of those obscure rulings that the ball has bounced around a bit before he scores. Yes, he’s in an offside position but it's not an offside offence.

Of course the Assistant saw it but we have to accept that he knows the Laws better than any of us.

LOL at Spurs..they will come good soon enough though

They were close to scoring several times and I think when the new signings bed in they could improve 🙂 . Their manager is still a tosser 😄

Everyone seems to have this belief.  Fucking joke paying the prices they have - Tonali a £100m player is just ludicrous.  Immense quality in that squad generally though with Kudus now fit as well, and Madison back.  I don’t know enough about him to have confidence that De Zerbi will be a success regardless of environment though.

Law needs sorting then, as he was so offside initially it gave him the 2 yards headstart on the defence to get to the rebound.

Wolves look good. Reckon they'll be right up in first or second come the end game.

Just depends if they need to sell or if any higher up teams fancy taking a chance on one of their good players. They have certainly started well.

Ipswich just conceded the most ridiculous goal you'll ever see....

Maguire handled it and shot, it got a knick off the defender so the goal was given as an own goal so the handball didn't count.

Ipswich learning that the PL is rigged 🤣

It’s not rigged, that’s the correct interpretation of the rules as they are written. It was given as an o.g. Because the initial shot was off target, not because it ‘got a nick’.

That rule is a farce, it was the clearest handball you'll see and just because his shot was off target they get the advantage.

It’s an absolutely stupid rule though. The only reason McGuire got a shot away was because he hand balled it. Had the shot been on target no goal because it took a deflection it was a goal. How does that make any sense?

that was not a 'nick'...the ball was going very wide

The handball should be given as is, not dependant on what happens afterwards

I thought Handball had to be either deliberate or hands/arms in an unnatural position?

Neither was the case here, was it?

A very clear handball irrespective of what happened after.

They were in an unnatural position.

That only applies to potential penalty decisions. In all other situations, handball is handball regardless of how unintentional it is.

The decision to award that goal was ridiculous.

Edit - OK so they just highlighted this on MOTD and confirmed that the law was followed to the letter, but as Shay Given pointed out, it didn't seem that unintentional from HM. Hands in an unnatural position and moved towards the ball.

That the laws allow that goal to stand is utter nonsense.

Don't they have an EPL rule 3.1 and shouldn't he 'fess up?

There’s absolutely no way a human had time to react to this into order to deliberately handle the ball. His arms were up in front of him because it looked like he was about to collide with another player. I’m not saying I agree with the rule as such but I’m not disallowing this for a deliberate handball.

It’s not at all. Even if Maguire had smashed it straight into the net it would have been a goal for most of the past 100 years.

And yet if that had been in the middle of the pitch and didn't lead to a shooting chance, the ref would have given a FK for an accidental handball and nobody would have any complaints.

But because it created a shooting chance, it gets waved away and the goal is given.

In what alternative reality does that make any sense?

Aren't accidental handballs given as free kicks if the player uses their arms to make their body profile unnaturally bigger?
