Arizona Posted 27 February, 2009 Share Posted 27 February, 2009 Sure there was an April fools joke on the OS in 2003 when the club announced our new home kit would be blue and white stripes in tribute to Pompey's imminent promotion. Was before I joined Saintsforever, but I'd bet it rattled a few cages.

um pahars Posted 28 February, 2009 Share Posted 28 February, 2009 When have SFC worn bule, that is for the fish f**kers down the road. When we went blue in 1980 I don't remember much fuss about the fact it was the supposed colour of our rivals, but then again I think that was more to do with our rivals than anything else. At that time, Portsmuff weren't really our rivals. We had only played them 4 times in about 20 years and whilst we were getting promoted, playing at Wembley and having the likes of Keegan gracing The Dell, they were hanging around the lower divisions (I think they were even in the Fourth Division when Keegan was unveiled). They just weren't on our radar and we even had more of a rivalry with Brighton around that era!!!!!! Personally have preferred the Yellow and Blue combination for a number reasons (Southamptonshire!!!, Wembley 76 & 79).
exeter_saint Posted 28 February, 2009 Share Posted 28 February, 2009 2/3 years ago pompeys away kit was BRIGHT red, I think both clubs like to dabble in a kind of 'I shouldnt really be doing this and that what makes it more exciting' way
