Jack Cork on Loan

In the Daily Mail tomorrow it says we are getting defender Jack Cork on loan from Chelsea:

"Chelsea are also on the verge of signing attacking midfielder Fabio Paim on a season-long loan from Sporting Lisbon and have loaned out former England Under 18 captain Jack Cork to Southampton until January 1."

Wikipedia says:

Jack Cork (born June 25, 1989) is a footballer currently contracted to Chelsea who spent the 2007/08 season on loan at S****horpe United. During the 2006-07 season he twice went on loan to Bournemouth. Cork is a versatile defender who can play anywhere across the back and can also play in the holding midfield role. He has also represented England at youth level, recently making his Under 19 debut against the Czech Republic[1], and has captained the Chelsea youth team. He has been at the club since the age of nine.[1]

Lets see if its true!

We have John and McGoldrick.

In the last 24 hours JP has said none of the first team squad will go, we seem to have a settled group who want to play their best for the club, and now the possibility of getting a good young defender with championship experience in. Yet still people will moan and twist everything into a negative, we'll have digs at Lowe along the way, suggestions that we'll be relegated and told how crap we've been to get 0 points, mainly by people who haven't even been to a game.

It isn't "realistic" to say we'll struggle. None of you, not one, has seen more than 2 games of this new team. After 20 games you might be able to make an educated guess, but even then teams can dramatically pick up, or indeed fall away. So judge them on the whole season. Until then, since it's all new and unknown, just be positive and get behind the team, manager, AND board.

Excellent news, we've got two goalscorers.

Just the one thing, what if one of them picks up an injury? You know, maybe 5 or 6 games out?? Surely you're not suggesting Bradley is cover???

Hasn't he been with Leicester recently?

Hope they haven't heard it was Pearson who has signed him and forgotten he is now with Leicester :-/

If he is really coming I've heard he is a decent player

That was Jack Hobbs

Christ, very few teams in this league have more than 2 regular goalscorers, and nearly no-one in our financial situation does.

This sounds lile a cracked record that I've being hearing for the last few seasons. Don't make a jugement until the first quarter of the season is gone (and disappointing), don't worry til Christmas (we're not going to get promoted now), don't panic til after Easter (**** we might even go down now), COME ON GET BEHIND THE LADS (but I thought you sais judge them afyer a FEW games), if we win the last 9 games on no previous form we can still do it - like stay up.

How many years are you happy to trot out this ****e Adrian and what makes you feel that this season in particualar might be the one that makes your unceasingly, untiringly, unrealistically, unncesarrily optimistic crap come true?

How does everyone know that this is a good move and that he will be any good? Where have people seen him play? Or is it the fact that he plays for Chelsea that means he must be great?

To be fair, I doubt they'd keep him if he was any worse in defence than Surman/James.

And, Wednesday can't compete against our revolutionary new set up can they.

hopefully not, it was sold as a positive of our new sep up that it will attract young talent from big clubs here to develop -this looks like a very good example -lets see if it works (unless its another made up rumour!)

More sarcasm of the kind now stock in trade for the dedicated moaning minnies. Never mind that the Saints set up attracted Scheiderlin against competition from others. The one thing you can be certain of, is that if Cork comes here on loan, people who make comments like this won't apologise and won't stop. Of course, they can prove me wrong - by giving all the negative stuff a rest and getting on with supporting our club.

I was agreeing with everything you said until the very last two words.

No. I will not get behind the board. If all of those shysters and charlatans left us today and we never saw any of them anywhere near our club ever again, it would be a cause for celebration for most fans of this club.

Calm down it was a joke, I haven't been negative once in the past.

All goes hand in hand. If people are moaning about them it's hard to concentrate in supporting the manager and team. Likewise, if the manager and team were to do well, it's hard to completely separate the board.

People just have to be a little grown up about it and see it as a fresh start. The board have done absolutely nothing wrong in this new tenure. It's a shame we got into this mess, but we're trying to move out of it. People will blame them if players are sold, but they'd blame them if the financial situation worsened or we went into administration, so it's really a no win situation. No-ones asking people to cheer them, or even talk about them, it would just be beneficial if people shut up about them, rather than twisting the majority of threads against them, regardless of fact.

=D>

Not to mention how utterly boring it is.

You're making the mistake of aggregating the importance of opinions expressed on here . No Saintsweb argument is going to have any significant effect on the performance of the team , or on any decisions taken by the board for that matter .

Let people express their views in a free and democratic manner , if we all have to self-censor ourselves for fear of some adverse effect on SFC we might as well close this forum down IMO .

You are getting soooooooooooooooooo tedious.

Free speach and opinion is what this forum is all about, stop trying to get everybody to agree with your views only, it won´t happen!

FFS - it's not that hard really. At all. In the slightest.

Maybe not for you, but if we get back to anything like the ridiculous nonsense of last time Lowe was here, it proves impossible. Remember all the abuse after we sold theo? A deal that couldn't be stopped, wasn't a choice, and we got a decent fee. Anyone with any objective thought could see that, yet we had a stadium of uproar. I see similar comments now when someone like davies leaves or there's rumours about surman. people know the situation yet it doesn't stop the usual drivel being spouted. Thankfully, the most retarded culprits seem to confine themselves to the daily echo.

And that's just the journalists. Boom, boom!

So any official news on Cork?

supposedly Sheff Weds and Celtic are interested in taking him on loan as well - so he will probably end up at one of those two as they've probably got more cash then us

also the story seems to have disappeared from the Daily Mail website as well now
