I had a cold call from that number yesterday trying to sell me something. No idea what it was.

Was he trying to sell you one of these...?

Or maybe one of these...?

Published on Thursday 19 January 2012 14:11 Pompey have completed the signing of Kelvin Etuhu.

The 23-year-old winger has penned a deal until the end of the season, with the option of another year.

Etuhu will go straight into the Blues’ squad for this weekend’s trip to his former club Cardiff.

Nigerian-born Etuhu was a free agent after being released by Manchester City last March following a jail term for assault.

He was allowed to be brought in by the Football League after Hermann Hreidarsson joined Coventry on Monday.

Still trading then....

@solentsport #pompey have just thirteen fit senior professionals for Saturday's Championship trip to #ccfc

TBH and this is probably the only time I might say it - But I'm desperately hoping they can put out a competitive side on Saturday and nick a point.

Is that different (separate pools of) money on each or the same money charged twice to both?

(the more alert of you have probably deduced that I've completely lost the plot as to who owns and owes what!)

Oh, good! I'm glad I'm not the only one. I think I need a nice big flow-chart to help me...

The Telegraph article is still there, just click on Sport->Football and it's down the right hand side next to the table. URL doesn't seem to paste properly.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/portsmouth/9021385/Joseph-Cala-the-Man-from-Atlantis-confident-of-Portsmouth-deal.html

That's good. He's got £14m allocated to pay of Chinny in full, and proof of over £20m in funds (let's assume that's £20m then). Does he realise that he needs:

- £10.8m to pay off CSI, or suffer a 10 point deduction (gaining an unfair advantage)?

- £5m debt to the child maimer

- £1.5 - £2m a month on the player salaries (he seems to have grasped that 8 players are on £1.1m a month...does he realise he can't just sack them?)

- a CVA that needs to be serviced (which probably won't be covered by whatever's left of the parachute payments)

- no training facility

- no real income until the summer (ST money will have long gone)

- a fallen down ground

Wonder if he'll still be interested when he realises that?

As Steve Wilson alluded to in his webchat the other day - "the Football League may not want to open this particular can of worms".

In other words give Pompey a points penalty and all sorts of wrongdoing may come out of the woodwork, not just for Pompey but for football in general - including the Football and Premier Leagues.

IMO this is why the football authorities have been so lenient.

This, so totally this! I have been saying it for a long time now, no proof whatsoever but just a simple and logical idea.

It is important to remember that now, on this thread as we are surrounded by the uncertainty of the Blue Phew's precarious plight, we know only of one thing.

'Arry's up in court on Monday....

They appear to be in front of the Judge tomorrow morning (Friday).

http://www.courtserve.net/courtlists/current/crown/sthwk_T120120.01.htm

Court 8 at 10:00 before Judge Leonard.

I think it is "For Mention" although it is not 100% clear.

I see the "Contempt of Court" note is still in place so there will be no reporting of the case.

Obviously it is a different model at Pompey

Assume their youngsters are not 'Professionals'

When we had injuries/suspensions earlier this year a number of U18's were drafted in as was the case when we went into admin

Walked past Southwark Crown Court today. They've already got the temporary crowd barriers up. Can't think why they believe there'll be so much press and public interested in this one...

Apologies if this is already posted - I could'nt see it. From the Football Shorts column in the Express :-

Joseph Cala, set to become the new owner of Portsmouth, claims the club have problems because money has been "gambled" away. Cala said: "I am shocked by what has been left at the club. Its like someone is drunk at the bar and the barman keeps giving him more drinks. Its not sport, its gambling."

Sorry, I've no idea how to do a direct link.

I have another solution to this problem: Liquidate and bury the club! There's no need, rule or anything that demands Pompey's existence.... just kick the club out of the Leauge (as the Swiss did with Neuchatel) and let the club die.

Swift, clean and fair.

Sounds good to me. :D

Probably for the sentencing of Clark Kent in Court 5

Anyway, why a conference call? I thought he told the Snooze last week that he was flying over to the UK to sort things out...?

Maybe he decided to come by boat instead....

Does anyone know of a freelance 'journalist' who specialises in phone hacking that can supply a phone number and conference call passcode?

Talk of the devil...

@pn_Rory_McKeown: Joseph Cala tells The News he is holding a conference call meeting with the Football League today.

Hold tight folks....I've got a hunch it's going to be 'one of those days'....

My backside isn't covered, as I'm sure one day when another club gets taken over, then it will all come out in the wash. I believe that Cala not only hasn't passed fit and proper, he hasn't even been put forward for it. I was told even Handy Andy knows he be back at the club in 2months if Cala took over. FL don't want any further bad press or embarrassment to them either.

Perhaps JoCa is appealing the fact that he is the first person (fictional or living) in history to fail the FAPPT?

I'm warming to Andy Andronikou.....just had an email from him. The stuff about Fritz Scherer of Bayern Munich that a few people posted yesterday is complete 'fiction'. Cala is the ONLY one to have acted on his declared interest in terms of funds, due diligence etc. As for Brian Howe, he says: "I have spoken to Mr Howe, we still waiting for him and his backer to start their due diligence...it's been several weeks since they showed any interest." So there you have it. It's Cala or the abyss. A big thanks to AA for keeping us informed.

The Imposter

Morning All...Brian is in talks with Cala about a joint bid. Just have a look on his Facebook page where he hints about being on to something. And the reason that Brian's name is now back in the frame is that after hinting that he may ask for an investigation into the ongoing process of how AA has conducted the sale of our club. Strange how the the necessary paperwork for a bid to be submitted which for so long had been "delayed" for so long suddenly turned up............ I'm sure the major will confirm this. lol

Why would Bad Company want to put good money into JoCa's sinking funds ?

Never mind those confidentiality causes AA goes on about then? Or was there an 'unless a random person asks via email' get out clause?

On a serious note l wonder if it will affect the attendances if this Cala becomes owner some fans may see him as another idiot in charge and stay away.

Oh no, not the precious attendances!
