About time,he must read this forum.

Yeh right!!..........like he would take notice of the whingers on here. He is doing what was always in the pipeline, building slowly, having looked at the weak area's of the team. He will not be rushed by the toy chucking kids on here...........he will get it right.

I think the time to calm down so to speak will be AFTER we have signed in the areas needed and in particular when those players are able to show there worth.

I think the time to be calm is now. People should remember that Pardew didn't take this job so that he could do it with his hands tied behind his back so to speak. I don't believe Mr Liebherr bought the club so that it could remain in the 3rd division.

There is a sensible strategy in place, and we still have a club. What is the point in hysteria at this present moment in time. Sad.

No hysteria here. Just waiting for the mass wrist slashing at 5pm Saturday when we lose 4-0 to Millwall. Reeds in wind...wait and see.

AP says one or two hopefully this week

priority dominating CB

hopes 4 or 5 by end of window

..more or less my estimation, too Nick.

A bit of restrained panic before Saturday, thereafter - filling the gaps and getting cover for injuries ..like Thomas and Powell.

Just be pleased that we have our club back! If we lose every game 4-0 I will be happy as we must give it time.

Not every game please. The first one or two at worst but not by 4-0. We will maybe start slowly, but if the team shows some fight we will surely get behind them and roar them on as we can and have in the past.

Wouldn't the game actually finish at just gone 2:30pm, from a 12:45pm kick off?! Pedantic or attention to detail?! You decide...

;0)

You never know how much "injury" time the Ref will add these days, maybe as much as 7 minutes or until Arsenal, sorry I mean Millwall, equalise ;)

Was that the ****erill "incident"?

Nope, as mentioned above. The shady ref keeping play running until Arsenal scored. Unbelievable! It's like the classic Old Trafford ref.

Jaidi from Birmingham for the dominating CB

I'd be more than happy with a tall, strong f*cker like Jaidi marshalling the defence. God knows we need it!

Still think Jan-Paul Saeijs would be worth a go

Unless you're back from the Brighton weekend, I'm hoping you're meaning worth signing?! LOL Sorry, couldn't resist that. Tongue firmly in cheeky (nor further pun intended btw!). ;) Saeijs and AN Another would certainly give us more options.

I realise our squad is thread bare and weak but I'm quietly confident for this season. It will be a season of consolidation and anything extra is a bonus, being fair and considering the state in which the squad was left to diminish. Clearly, we do need a good start to prevent the inexperienced younger heads dropping early on and the mental fragility so often inherent in younger squads. However, too much emphasis on this may also be counter-productive. From what we know, we don't often give up (despite results) and seem to have some good foundations mentally. It's now just a case of realising the potential highlights of our young/reserve team squad, correctly nurtured by bringing in the more experienced and reliable professionals as so many (including myself) insisted was needed to avoid the subsequent relegation and reconstruction of the Saints squad. In Pardew we trust!

Cripes.........I remember that game, I was so ferking mad:mad:

Lol, well that is something that is hard to forget ! And yes it was a scandal Gordon, I was there and never in a million years should there have been more than 2-3 minutes of injury time. Can't remember ( surprisingly) who the ref was ?

Not sure if it was the same game ? It was Paul Davis who broke ****erill's jaw- 1988/89 I think it was. If it was the same game then there should have been NO injury time since we were winning !!!!

Edit: With apologies to Nick G, I do have this tendency to go off at a tangent and wallow in nostalgia ;)
