Stockport v Saints Post Match Chat

That is utter rubbish. Saints really should have scored from open play - simple as that. You cannot play against this type of team at this level and expect to leave it to luck. Sorry - its not the refs fault - not the fault of the other team...it all comes down to poor play by Saints which needs to be sorted out.

Oh for ****s sake, I was pouring with sweat just reading this thread and then they get the inevitable, how come when we are 1 goal down with 20 mins left we just pack up and settle for it, but other teams always seem to get the lucky little bounce and **** us at the death. So ****ing ****ed off right now.

Don't believe it.

Should have been game over with the 2 chances that hit the post.

Stockport sounded utter ****e, apart from their endeavor and effort

We did have the chances, but they shouldn't have threatened us as much as they did in the final few mins.

This has made pardews task of bringing players here even harder.

-7 points...

Agree completely.

The tippy-tappyness is nice to look at (as with last season), but it needs to produce a result.

We went asleep after taking the lead against Millwall, Brentford, Birmingham and now Stockport. We seem to try to be holding on all the time.

With the team and resources we have, it simply isnt good enough.

It's not the end of the world.

Another improved performance.

Getting to grips with direct teams just need to start killing off games, thats 9 points missed out on (Millwall, Stockport, Brentford) Pardew will work on that in training.

Lloyd James & Hammond bossing the middle what we needed.

Improved from set pieces.

Mellis sounded not too in the game, still need a wide man.

Due a couple of good results.

Still unbeaten at home. ;)

Minus 7 points - with a f**king mountain to climb still. Unless we get a couple of real quality signings in early next week - it's gonna be a long hard winter.

W4ankers. Thought 3 points were ours today. Should have known better. We're Southampton after all...

A team with little pre-season, a lack of confidence from last season and a new manager.

Hit the bar twice.

Sounded like the better team.

Conceded a dubious last minute away from home.

Don't see anythin gto be downheartened about. Bad luck for the penalty is all.

We will be fine.

We needed to win today though really, and we should have.

One of the ''easier'' away games this season. Charlton is the next one...it's not going to get easier for us, the longer it takes us to get this win the heavier the pressure becomes.

3 points in 5 games really isn't good enough. I'm rapidly losing patience.

That said, I do think we'll win our next home game vs Colchester, and beat Yeovil in 3 games time, but new recruits are still needed.

Tuesday is a big day for us now.

How the hell you can still be positive after throwing yet ANOTHER lead away and without winning all season in the league is beyond me.

Would have given us a massive confidence boost if we'd held on.

Now all the confidence we might have gained this season and, more prominently, from the Brum game will be destroyed.

+1

and the pressure of being on minus points, still looking for a win, just gets heavier. I'm not sure if the likes of Lallana can cope with that.

We need to get a win, somehow. Colchester won't be easy though, neither will Charlton away.
