Saint Fan CaM Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 That is utter rubbish. Saints really should have scored from open play - simple as that. You cannot play against this type of team at this level and expect to leave it to luck. Sorry - its not the refs fault - not the fault of the other team...it all comes down to poor play by Saints which needs to be sorted out.

greg_hill Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 Chin up. We had more efforts on goal and were screwed by all the injury time. Plenty more games to go and hopefully a couple more new faces still to come. This is sickening but at least we showed some potential.

OttawaSaint Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 Oh for ****s sake, I was pouring with sweat just reading this thread and then they get the inevitable, how come when we are 1 goal down with 20 mins left we just pack up and settle for it, but other teams always seem to get the lucky little bounce and **** us at the death. So ****ing ****ed off right now.

S-Clarke Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 Don't believe it. Should have been game over with the 2 chances that hit the post. Stockport sounded utter ****e, apart from their endeavor and effort We did have the chances, but they shouldn't have threatened us as much as they did in the final few mins. This has made pardews task of bringing players here even harder. -7 points...
scott_saints Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 Honestly think we could be in for another relegation scrap this season. I know "it's too early to tell" etc, but I kept saying that to myself the last 2 seasons aswell! We actually have some decent players. Sort it out Pardew. The tippy-tappyness is nice to look at (as with last season), but it needs to produce a result. We went asleep after taking the lead against Millwall, Brentford, Birmingham and now Stockport. We seem to try to be holding on all the time. With the team and resources we have, it simply isnt good enough.
niceandfriendly Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 If we can't beat Stockport when we're winning 1-0 and totally dominating, we won't beat anyone this season.

Leicestersaint Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 It is simply not good enough. We are not scoring enough goals. And i really do wish posters on here would not tempt fate by saying 'easy, easy' and generally writing very daft childish things. It is not lookign good. saintsmike25 Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 It's not the end of the world. Another improved performance. Getting to grips with direct teams just need to start killing off games, thats 9 points missed out on (Millwall, Stockport, Brentford) Pardew will work on that in training. Lloyd James & Hammond bossing the middle what we needed. Improved from set pieces. Mellis sounded not too in the game, still need a wide man. Due a couple of good results. Still unbeaten at home. Saint Charlie Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 Sounds like we played very well and got stung by a dodgy pen. Nothing Pardew can do about that. At least we are improving game by game, the results will come.
jamesfp1 Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 our luck is supernaturally awful, in EVERY game. i'd love to see that stats for dropped points in the last 10 mins for the last 5 years.
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 What a load of gash. Everytime we play badly, lose or draw, it spoils my weekend. I don't think I've had a decent one since 2003.
Rasiak-9- Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 I wouldn't look so much at our inability to keep clean sheets but at our inability down the other end of the pitch. Thats 4 goals in 5 games, one from a corner and one from a penalty. We can't rely on keeping clean sheets to win games.
.comsaint Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 Minus 7 points - with a f**king mountain to climb still. Unless we get a couple of real quality signings in early next week - it's gonna be a long hard winter. W4ankers. Thought 3 points were ours today. Should have known better. We're Southampton after all...
Suhari Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 A team with little pre-season, a lack of confidence from last season and a new manager. Hit the bar twice. Sounded like the better team. Conceded a dubious last minute away from home. Don't see anythin gto be downheartened about. Bad luck for the penalty is all. We will be fine. We needed to win today though really, and we should have. One of the ''easier'' away games this season. Charlton is the next one...it's not going to get easier for us, the longer it takes us to get this win the heavier the pressure becomes.

SNSUN Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 3 points in 5 games really isn't good enough. I'm rapidly losing patience. That said, I do think we'll win our next home game vs Colchester, and beat Yeovil in 3 games time, but new recruits are still needed. Tuesday is a big day for us now. saintsmike25 Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 Colchester (home), Charlton (away) and Yeovil, we need to look to get 6 points in those, and thats doable, certainly if we defend well.
Saint_clark Posted 29 August, 2009 Share Posted 29 August, 2009 Would have given us a massive confidence boost if we'd held on. Now all the confidence we might have gained this season and, more prominently, from the Brum game will be destroyed. +1 and the pressure of being on minus points, still looking for a win, just gets heavier. I'm not sure if the likes of Lallana can cope with that. We need to get a win, somehow. Colchester won't be easy though, neither will Charlton away.
