Saga staying then?

if he is staying, and wants to be here, then great. If he does his all and bangs in the goals between now and Jan, and then buggers off - fine - he's done his job.

But if he loafs around dragging people down, i'd have preferred him to have left - but only time will tell on that one.

Come on Saga - do your worst (best!!)

Having seen him at the weekend I thought he was playing with considerable effort and at the slightest (unsubstantiated) rumour of a move to Notts Co everyone rounds on him and calls him a ****.

If he is to pick his head up and start banging in the goals we know he can deliver and want to play for us then we have to give him our support

Such a shame his goal wasn't allowed its just the kick on he needed

or in a weeks time someone will come in for a loan deal and he will be once again out the door.

I'd like him to stay and earn his wage, but international aspirations and the prestige of playing in a higher league i think will win out.

Some posters have been wishing him out of the club for months.

It hasnt happened. Why not start wishing for him to keep focused, continuing to contribute to the team performance (which he clearly does), and for him to get a few goals ?

Indeed i wish he would. Seriously though - do you think he wants to stay ?

He hasn't loafed around so far this season, so can't see why he would now.

Looks a as though he's staying, haven't seen any moves for him. So hopefully he'll knuckle down now and put on a show,so that Poland remember him & he might gender some interest for the Jan window if he stil wants to move.

Goals Goals Goals. I hope :-)[/quote

Of course.. he can still go out on loan to another club, but let's hope he'll earn his salary and score some more for us.

You have to admit when on song (sadly not so often) he has scored great goals, and we won't forget his hat-trick at Wolves a couple of years back. Come on Marek, let's have some more !

no, not saying he has / would, Lee - but just saying that we dont need it at this time of our re-building, so if he (or anyone) wanted out, then they are free to go - it's not a prison.

Agree with you Alpine - Saga's efforts have been very good. If the disallowed goal last week had stood, some might be singing a different tune. He is a classy player - the longer he stays, the better.

if we start serving up some chances for the lad then he'll start scoring goals again. I've never been a big fan, but the biggest reason for him failing to rack up the goals in recent times is the lack of chances created. Hopefully that will change.

I dont care. If he wants a move away, he has to earn it - at SFC.

But he clearly does want to move away (if we believe what's been written) so it will happen; maybe a loan in a week or so's time, or he maybe sold in January. He's not therefore going to be part of our future plans either way. I would have thought it better to move him on now and bring in a replacement who is going to be here for a while so we can create that strength of unit/team identity that Pardew is looking for. Let's sell him now rather than in 4 months when it will cause more disruption to a team that by then might be settled in it's style of play and approach. We have new players bedding in now; let's get his replacement in as part of that process rather than have to do it later.

Whether he goes or stays is beside the point IMHO ....

If AP lets him go on Loan?Xfer etc ... BEFORE he gets a Replacement IN .... then he is CRAZY ...... repeat CRAZY

I've yet to hear the "excuses" as to why AP did not/could not strengthen the Team .... but, as I have said before, something is not quite right as regards Funding for Playeres that COULD STILL launch a bid for Top Six THIS season

I honestly don't know why certain people turn on Saganowski. He's a high quality player, who really should be playing in a better league. It's like anyone at work who knows they could do better elsewhere. If nobody comes in, I'm sure he'll give his all. But being the quality player he is, 85% of Saganowski is more than 100% of some other players. Perhaps they're too busy singing or shouting abuse to notice.

I've been indifferent to Saga mainly because I think he's underperformed in the past but to be fair he seems to have made an effort so far this season.

If he can show us the class player that we had when he joined then I'll be very happy with him.

Come on Saga, show us you're up for it!

Just to clarify - I'm more then keen for him to stay and show us again what he can do.

however if its in his head just to bide time I'd rather Paterson busting a gut each week.

However - i'm hoping Saga relizes he is here, we are paying him his wage - time to shine.

Was it the Nott's thread he was getting slagged ? -1

I think Saga's attitude has always been dead on. One of the things I like about him. I've never seen a lack of effort from him in the games I've been to. I thought him and Paterson put in a decent shift against Milwall and then I come home and read how he is so lazy, clearly can't be a*sed, wants out etc. Things like that and the Notts Co thread just show how some people just want to hate a player. People will believe one sniff of a rumour with no proper source to back it up if it suits their agenda. One long ball he doesn't run on to, one 50/50 tackle he backs out of and that's all some people remember from the game.

It's tragic. If you want to see a team of our world class youth players giving 100% in every game, I suggest you buy last year's DVD and watch the first half of the season on a repeated loop.

Well he wont be playing Saturday if he has been picked for the Polish squad's World Cup Qualifier.

Anyone know if he is in the squad ?

Good point, and yes he is in Poland's squad for their match against N. Ireland this Saturday.

As for him leaving on loan........

As far as I am aware the window has closed throughout Europe for any permanent or loan signings. the only exception being the English leagues (except the prem). So if he wants to play in a higher league it has to be a move to a CCC club.

There were rumours yesterday that Leicester and Middlesborough were interested, so I guess (if either of these were true) it could be possible for him to go (or to any other CCC team for that matter). However, I really don't think AP will let him go unless we bring another striker in at the same time.

Personally, I hope he stays. He and Lambert may not have pace but they certainly have ability and experience, and I think would forge a good partnership. Also, as I have said many times, if he does stay he will have to play damned well to retain his place in the Poland squad.

+1. Indeed AP has been on record praising Saga's attitude.

No problem with his attitude or work-rate to a degree. My problem with him is his goal scoring record over the last couple of seasons - for an international striker, it stinks. Now this has something to do with the players around him perhaps, so hopefully things might change, but he also needs to be more aware and help create chances by intelligent movement off-ball without getting caught off-side.

The best news of the transfer window - Saga stays!

Now play him up front with Lambert ...sit back ...watch the goals

.....AND DON'T LOAN HIM OUT FFS !!!!

Why is this such great news. He can put himself about a bit but has no pace and rarely scores. He also looks to be overweight. While he was was ok at Stockport there was nothing about his game which made you think we couldn't do without him. Not sure he's the kind of partner Lambert needs either.

I think he'll go on loan to a CCC club in the next week or so

it's a world cup year and he wants to do his utmost to keep his place in the Polish national squad

he works hard but his touch and confidence seem to have gone a bit

plus his pace has gone a bit as well - at the last home game they were a number of occasions when he recieved the ball and laid it off when in the past he would have spun his marker and gone for goal

I agree he will go on loan to a championship club but it won't be untill we get a replacement, which he's been told apparently.
