Outfield Captain

Kelvin Davis - Club Captain

Dean Hammond - Team Captain

Is how i see this one panning out...

Pardew said on the forum that whilst he feels Davis is the best captain he's ever had in terms of taking things off his hands...he felt (and had spoken to KD about it) that he needed someone in the middle of the park who can communicate with the ref...

Only seen Hammond in the last match and have to say I was impressed. So if this a question of who would be the best outfield captain then I could go along with that. However I am a big fan of Kelvin and Curbs talks highly of him as captain therefore I would stay with KD as captain.

What Pard's (i assume you ment him, rather than curbs ;)) elluded too in the forum is that he'd like a ''90mins'' captain, and would keep Kelvin as the club captain.

He wanted someone closer to the game during matches, and in his words...''we needed someone to control wayne, when he threw someone to the ground again''

i think it's great that we can go through our team and have several options as outfield captains.....it's something we haven't had the luxury of in recent years.

I wouldn't choose Jaidi though, i like captains to be in the midfield - whether you're attacking or defending, they'll always be involved.

So out of our squad we've got thee following who have been captains of our team/other teams -

Davis

Perry

Jaidi

Murty

Hammond

Thomas (think he was captain at Burnley but not 100% sure)

Not a bad lot to choose one from? My guess is Hammond and not Thomas as he's the one the captain will be keeping in check!

I think we're forgetting the influence of Dean Wilkins here. How could AP fail to be swayed as DW regales him with tales of his brother's elevation to the Chelsea captaincy at the tender age of 18? Surely AP will give youth a chance and appoint his on-field skipper accordingly.

So, Schneiderlin it is then.

For the hard of humour, this is a joke.

OK, it's not a very good one. So sue me.
