Huffton Posted 4 February, 2010 Share Posted 4 February, 2010 http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1954764,00.html "We got up here just after half nine last night. It's been great fun, we've been playing football in the car park, the security guards have brought us all teas and coffees, they have been fantastic. We camped out all night in our sleeping bags just to be able to make sure that we got our tickets. "We just want to say a big thank you to the Chairman, fair play to him he came out here and saw us all first thing at 6.30am, shook our hands and thanked us for being here and made sure that we were being looked after." Probably not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things but still a nice touch I thought. Would the previous chairman have done anything similar? He would probably have had them kicked off the car park for trespass;)

The9 Posted 4 February, 2010 Share Posted 4 February, 2010 Just to annoy people and add a slight balance, Rupert Lowe did once talk to me as I was buying tickets and said he hoped I enjoyed the game etc. He said "well done" to me outside the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on FA Cup Final day 2003 (after the game). I said "hello Rupert" to prompt the response. I think he was taken aback by the familiarity, but I couldn't really fault him at that exact point in time really, might have said something different post-2005. Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 5 February, 2010 Share Posted 5 February, 2010 Ticket Office staff have been at work this morning from sevenish. dune Posted 5 February, 2010 Share Posted 5 February, 2010 What a nice gesture from Mr Cortese. It's these little things that make all the difference. When Lowe was at Saints those taking the supporters bus to Pompey were charged to park at St Marys. It was only a quid but it was the principle and it said it all about how the club valued its supporters.

Charlie Wayman Posted 5 February, 2010 Share Posted 5 February, 2010 All I'd say is where was the coffee when we ST's were queuing for our single tickets last week. Get the picture? Fairweather 'fans' welcome, old lag ST holders **** off. Remember how we couldn't get our own seats for the early cup rounds? It's OK to woo potential new customers Nicola but don't forget the loyal band who've stood shoulder-to-shoulder at SMS during these past few years trying to prevent our beloved Saints from dropping into the abyss. Perhaps the extra discount on ticket prices for cup matches might be the thankyou to Season Ticket Holders. Perhaps the coffee at 6.30 in the morning was for the people who decided to queue from the early hours of the morning in the middle of winter which Season Ticket Holders didn't have to do. I thought you were off to follow Arsenal anyway............

Dalek2003 Posted 6 February, 2010 Share Posted 6 February, 2010 People may yawn, but the Hoddle debate will continue for many years as we are able to assess the crisis years at the club. Without a doubt it started with the appoiintment of the inexperienced Sturrock. Also, there was a minority of very vocal fans that played their part in this most ruinous of choices.
