Wycombe vs Saints - Build Up

Arizona

Same line-up. Got to go there and attack them from the off' date=' make sure we take our chances, and we should be able to beat them.[/quote']

Yeh I would definately agree with this and the above as I went to Norwich and I thought that we definately deserved the win and the 3 points and yes if we do play the same line up at Norwich for the Wycombe game then I think we will win easily and I think that we will win but we will see ;)!

COYR!

Again I think with away trips a lot comes down to the state of the pitch. Could someone tell me what we're in for at Wycombe? On a good surface at home or away with the side that played on Saturday I just can't for the life of me seeing how we won't win. Saturday was a complete controlled performance against a team who was flying on top of this league. Only extreme bad luck and dodgy pitches will cost us 3 points for the remainder of the year.

If we play with the intensity that we have in the last 4 matches, then we'll have too much for Wycombe and the score could be anything we want.

In the last couple of weeks we've started to regain that quality and 'punch' (exsue the pun ;)) that we have lacked since October through to December.

According to Pard's comments, if the team won on Saturday (which it did!) - then it will stay the same for the next game.

Am I right in thinking we have never been to Wycombe before?

Same 11 that started at Carrow road please Mr Pardew.

Not sure about the league, but I'm sure we've had a friendly there a few years ago.

Same 11 for me too, pleaese.

Should be straightforward, but also could be a real banana skin.

After a great performance Saturday, this looks relatively easy, but Norwich set out to play and Wycombe may well sit back.

Also Wycombe got a rare win on Saturday and that will have picked them up.

And I agree, the state of the pitch will be critical. Once it's hoofball, it's anyone's game.

Been here (expectations, not Wycombe) so many times - don't get too excited

Seaborne for Jaidi sounds a good shout, otherwise keep a winning team. Maybe rest Rickie if were cruising after 70 mins.

Wait a minute what am I saying, Saints cruising after 70 mins!? ... OK, make that if we've got a 4 goal margin going into the last 5 mins.

ah ha, we have an old classic here

After having supported Saints for many years I have long since lost count how many times we've played the league leaders and stuffed them, then faced a team propping up the table a few days later and lost.

this game is going to be key test for Pardew.

We should have too much for Wycombe, I'd take a 3-1 everytime here ;)

Well I want a win and am hoping for one but some of you on here seem to think we only have to turn up and the result is assured. It almost sounds complacent. Wycombe will be a big test-like any other side we play.

It will be a test, but if we play anything like we have in the last 3 games, then really...wycome will struggle.

This is a completely different game from Saturday, against Norwich you could argue that it was two CCC teams playing high quality football with plenty of space for our playmakers. Wycombe will make life very difficult, probs putting 11 players behind the ball when we attack (which saints never seem to deal with). I would happy with a battling 1-0 win, altho we really cant afford not to get all three points

I'd go along with that.

Same line up please Mr Pardew. I dont subscribe to the point of view of some saying rest Lambert. Cant afford to take our foot off the gas or underestimate any team in this league.

Doubt if he wants to be rested anyway. AP has talked about it before but it's never happened as yet, probably means the player has said he doesn't need a break..good man.

A point is not enough for Wycombe. They trail 20th position by six points including goal difference so they have to go for a win. They can't afford to drop to nine points from safety come Wednesday. So I'm expecting a more open, busy, hustling game on a pitch recovering from snow, with a desperate Wycombe aiming to unsettle us, lobbing for goal on the break. The accuracy of our shooting, and consistency in defending on slippery conditions is vital.

Then we will win.

I was on the pitch at Wycombe last Thursday night at around 23.40, having just spent a fantastic evening in the presence of a certain Le God!

I was sat next to the organiser of the evening and the head grounds man who duly took me onto the pitch and showed me around the dressing rooms...away one is crap.

Pitch is cut short but playable, however I think there may well have been a game of rugby played on it yesterday.

As for Wycombe we should comfortably beat them, le god predicted it would be 4 -0!!

Afair point. I can't give you a direct answer but I note Wasps (one of the top rugby union teams) use the same ground for their home matches and they had a game there yesterday afternoon. After Wycombe's home game on Saturday this will be the third match in 4 days and as it's mid-February and wet ... the pitch is more likely to resemble Paschendale than our own superb playing surface at St Marys.

Just phoned Wycombe as no way am I getting through to Saints on the phone today with everyone going mental for JPT tickets.

They will have cash sales on the day for away fans as long as we haven't sold our full allocation.

Just spoke to David Luker to and he conformed that you will be able to buy on night as didn't think we'd sell out, unless there is an almighty rush today and tomorrow

must be nice for AP to be able to pick a steady side with no changes for cups. Will be nice to see a settled side, then we can properly judge how team shaping up.

Would like to see same line up as Norwich - similar performance would be nice too ;)

After way Wycombe performed at St Marys - should be comfortable win for saints.

just been down to SMS and there certainly wasn't a great demand for Wycombe tickets. The guy at the window double taked when I asked him for a ticket for tomorrows game. I think I must have been the only one requesting such a thing all day. Everybody else was handing in their JPT application or chuntering/moaning about having to fill in an application to get tickets.
