pedg Posted 14 April, 2013 Share Posted 14 April, 2013 Man City v Wigan West Ham v Man Utd Fulham v Chelsea Unlike the Sunday match thread I think we can all agree what results we want from these! Unlikely however they will all go to form. My guess is that Wigan will get a draw at Man City but Man U will beat West Ham and Chelsea, who have a large incentive given how close the positions are for 3rd, 4th and 5th, will beat Fulham. pedg Posted 14 April, 2013 Author Share Posted 14 April, 2013 Wigan will lose to Man city Man City have got 2nd wrapped up and have probably given up privately on winning given the size of the fall needed by Man U. With the FA cup final their only chance of silverware I can see them coasting in the league for a bit.

Can't see them coasting at all. It's going to be tight for 2nd 3rd and 4th cos there are 4 candidates for 3 places.

Saintandy666 Posted 14 April, 2013 Share Posted 14 April, 2013 I really do want Chelsea to crash and burn, but obviously saints first and I really think we can get 8th place if we finish as strongly as we have been playing recently... so Chelsea, Man City and Man U. As you said, easy choices!
studentsaint Posted 14 April, 2013 Share Posted 14 April, 2013 Any chance city will rest some main players against their final opponents like we did in 2003 in case Wigan putthem out for the season? Might seeing as they have nothing to play for on the league.

Might seeing as they have nothing to play for on the league. I expect if Mancini wants any chance of keeping his job, he will need to have both a strong finish to the season(i.e winning every game) plus the FA cup. Perhaps in terms of placing, they have 'nothing to play for', but Mancini has his job. Also, don't underestimate the winning desire of professional sportsman. You don't get to play for Man City by not being particularly bothered about winning (same for managers), and even Man City's second team would have a good shot at a top 4 finish in this league. I can't see anything but 100% effort from Man City, and most likely clinical wins.
studentsaint Posted 14 April, 2013 Share Posted 14 April, 2013 That's what I am saying though, their second team is more than capable, if he played aguero or kompany and he got injured, could see him under scrutiny.

Saint Garrett Posted 15 April, 2013 Share Posted 15 April, 2013 This is the kind of shock result thatWigan provide us with this time of year. They shouldn't win, but it wouldn't surprise me if they nicked it.

Awful fixtures, 3 relegation scrappers, United and Chelsea plus an awful GD. Just can't see them getting out of trouble with their sawtoothed form. City let Wigan win tonight, and in return Wigan don't put up a fight in the Final. A suitable outcome for both teams.
Smirking_Saint Posted 17 April, 2013 Share Posted 17 April, 2013 Jarvis looks a decent player TBH, I knew he was good but didnt deserve the TF. His running and crossing are excellent however. Carroll gets a lot of stick too, if he was bought for say, 10m then he probably wouldnt get the torrent of abuse he so frequently gets. He is definately a handfull though

Minsk Posted 17 April, 2013 Share Posted 17 April, 2013 I think Wigan are playing quite well and should be in front by now. To be honest, although I know it best for us if they lose, part of me wants Wigan to win this. I really don't think they will catch us now regardless, and I would far rather see Villa, Sunderland or Stoke go down.
